Over a year ago we had our water tank burst in the middle of the night and at a recommendation of a friend we called Total Comfort. They were able to replace the best day. But, as a result I was duped into entering their preventative maintenance plan. This of course includes a yearly AC maintenance visit. It seems every time they come they find umpteen things wrong with the units and the cost for repairs are unsurprisingly astronomical. I went through this twice already with them. I immediately called a competitor following both visits and had them give a second opinion. Sure enough, I didn't need to do a vast majority of their "recommended" repairs. I met with Grossman to swap out a toilet & the water controls in a shower (non-emergency service call). Matt came to my house to provide an estimate. We scheduled a time for him to return a few days later (11/2020). They came and they did a good job. There were no economic surprises. They cleaned up their mess and everything works fine. Fast forward to the following morning day: they came exactly at the time they'd promised and got the job done at the time they'd estimated. Randolph, an energetic and polite young man, greeted me with a firm handshake, and friendly smile. He also gave me a tutorial, based on the questions I was asking, on how to use my existing system more efficiently, how best to set each thermometer, and when and how to change air filters if / when I wanted to do it myself. The new law is both must match. To make a long story short, there was no way I was ripping out a practically new air handler.
