Located just a few miles outside Sonoma, it was an easy find with plenty of parking. They allowed walk ins for tasting or a glass! The server let us try a few before deciding on their Zinfandel by the glass. It was stellar!! Highly recommend. The grounds are just as great as the wine! As you explore past the tasting room, there are themed rooms tucked into smaller buildings nearby, which allow you to find a cute space to sip! We actually opted to go back into their bigger outdoor space, which includes views of the vineyards. It was so peaceful and lovely! We can't wait to come back! read more

Since ownership turned over there is even better energy here! They will be brings by back their olive oils and vinegars in the next year. The wine selection was more diverse than most places but I have to admit, most all of our tasting was a hit out of the park. Very drinkable wines, very smooth in a location piping through old classics on the sound system creating a great vibe amongst the tables and vines. Service was top notch. We visited during the winter, and yet this property is still stunning. The rolling hills are right in their backyard with vines galore. We had an impromptu visit on a Sunday without a reservation. The woman who greeted us was very kind and helped us pick a glass of wine based on what we liked. They were busy so we opted to not do a tasting, which was the perfect decision because we were able to leisurely stroll through the property and enjoy the views. We stopped in here on the wine trolley tour - visually it's so stunning and a unique modern feel for the area. The vineyards was gorgeous and all the grounds were just fantastic, with a ton of little alcoves to hang out in. Our tasting was decent- our host did forget to give us a pour until we had to walk up and remind her, and we weren't married to any of the wines in the tasting. Our two favorite wines were actually the rose and the chardonnay that were not included in the tasting. I like the music aspect of this spot as it was something unique and I saw them setting up live music as we were heading out (along with a food truck). Where Wine Meets Rock 'n Roll and the Grapevines Sing Back! We were heading north out of Sonoma, feeling the last golden rays of wine country on our skin and not quite ready to say goodbye. So we did what any classy, last-minute, sun-chasing duo would do, we turned to ChatGPT and asked, "Where's the winery with the best views on Sonoma Highway?" That divine intervention steered us straight to B.R. Cohn Winery, and friends, we hit the jackpot. Pulling in, we saw several tour buses lined up like a backstage pass line for a sold-out show and thought, "Uh-oh, this might be chaos" and the front of the property didn't give away much in the way of views. The large group was funneled into their own dedicated area, tucked away like a VIP section at a festival. And behind the buildings? That's where the magic cranked up to eleven. Vineyards. Hills. Trees swaying like backup dancers to a silent rhythm. Absolute wine-country stagecraft. Walking up to the front door, we were greeted by a towering metal guitar sculpture, and it gave the place full Graceland energy. As a lifelong Elvis fan, I felt instantly at home, like maybe the King himself had strolled through here with a glass of Cab and a hip swivel. No reservation needed. My adoring sidekick and I strolled in, were seated immediately, and kicked things off with the Classic Flight of four sensational wines: 2023 Pinot Gris - Peach and pear that played like a summer duet. 2022 Quatre Red Blend - Raspberry, strawberry, and clove in a harmony so smooth it could headline its own tour. 2021 Zinfandel - Bold notes of blackberry and plum with a spicy finale. The Zepplin of Zins. 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon (Olive Hill Estate) - Dark fruit, vanilla spice, and rock-star depth. This one brought the house down. Every pour was a hit. Every sip a standing ovation. At some point during the tasting we were "accidentally" served a glass of 2022 Malbec. It was so good, we left with a bottle to take home, our own encore performance waiting in the wings. Our server was a total pro; friendly, informative, and clearly vibing with the winery's musical heartbeat. She told us how Bruce Cohn, longtime manager of The Doobie Brothers, founded the winery in 1984, blending a legacy of music with a passion for winemaking. The place has hosted countless concerts over the years, and the walls are practically humming with the echoes of guitars and glasses clinking. After our tasting, we wandered the property (glass of wine in hand) like wide-eyed groupies on a backstage tour. The scenery? Spellbinding. The weather? Absolute perfection. My wife, who normally avoids outdoor seating in June like it's a Texas mosquito convention, was in her element, breeze in her hair, and not a bead of sweat in sight. We also spotted the small vehicle they use to zip guests around the grounds, like a mini roadie-mobile, but we ran out of time to schedule a ride. Next visit, we're all in. TL;DR: A winery with rhythm, roots, and rockstar wine. Tremendous Classic Flight. Graceland-style guitar sculpture. Views so good they're backstage-only. No reservation? No problem. Beautiful location and facility, all wonderful. But the real treasure here are the wines and hospitality. We visited midweek on a nice spring day, enjoyed a tasting of both whites and reds. Standouts were the Chardonnay, Zinfandel and a surprising Barbera. We were served by a phenomenal Sandee. Her knowledge of the winery and grounds, while deep and impressive, were second to her ability to talk wine. Omg such a beautiful winery! Finishing up on all my reviews of our family trip to Sonoma and this was the second winery of the day that we visited! Upon walking up, they had a huge guitar, which I figured there had to be a story with that. We walked into the main lobby area and were taken out to the back patio area. We had a tasting set up and they put us in the back patio area under an umbrella. It was such a beautiful day and such a beautiful garden area. The woman who helped us was incredible! She told us the full story about the winery. The guitar out front was because of B.R. Cohn and his connection with the music industry. Apparently back in the day, they held a lot of concerts here. And even as you walk through the main building, we learned that was the house that he and his family lived in! How freaking cool is that. I love a good history sesh about places like this. It was so interesting! The main garden area was closed for a wedding, but we were able to sneak over to see it before it started and caught a glimpse of the bride getting some photos done! I could totally see why someone would get married here. It is absolutely a beautiful winery with incredible views! I would recommend this winery to anyone checking out wineries in Sonoma. Lovely winery that's a bit further out in glen ellen but worth the trip! It's on a beautiful large property with olive trees and open spaces with lots of tables. We came in the morning where there were some tables filled already but we got a whole picnic table to ourselves with our two dogs who sprawled out. The wine tasting was lovely but the ambiance helped. 4/5 for the wines for me but overall experience was 5/5 read more

I couldn't get enough of the views around this property. Loved the olive oil tasting and purchased a few bottles since my family and I love a good olive oil. The Estate Olive Oil was the best ... loved it. We didn't get to do wine tasting cause we were short on time. We mainly stopped for the olive oil tasting. I loved everything about this place , will have to come back and try the wine next time. Customer service needs some improvement, it's really bad for the business to ignore a walk in customer who's looking at olive oil. We came to taste their cab flight, which did not disappoint! Despite their roof being under construction, our host, Andreas, still gave us a mini tour of the property. I especially liked that we got to try wine from vines that we could see. Overall, it was a delicious tasting, and he explained the rich history of the place and its connection with classic rock. He even brought us some of their house-made olive oil and chocolate. We look forward to returning, especially during one of their music events! Cannot recommend this enough. read more

This was our second time attending the Sonoma Harvest Music Festival (first time was 2019), and not only is this a beautiful winery surrounded by stunning vineyards, but they're also an amazing venue for live music! Inside the tasting room, the walls are covered with concert photos and past music festival posters. It's clear that the owners love their rock 'n' roll and live music! Music & wine do make a sweet pairing if I do say so myself! While at the festival, we got to partake in a little olive oil & vinegar tasting in their olive oil shop. This winery also produces delectable olive oils and vinegars (make sure to pay attention to all the beautiful olive trees on the property too!). Shout out to José who was so friendly, welcoming and answered all our olive oil questions! Thank you José! We were so impressed by our tasting, we went back a second time mid-festival, then decided to sign up for their Gourmet Olive Oil & Vinegar Club! We loved their California Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Meyer Lemon Olive Oil. Oh, and don't get me started on their 25 year Balsamic Vinegar from Modena, Italy! My Italian husband was beyond happy, and those were pretty much what sold us on joining the club! If you're headed to Sonoma or are already there, definitely make this one of your stops! I can't speak on the wine because I didn't have any! But this is a really cool venue to host music! Well orchestrated and coordinated was the harvest festival on the grounds of this winery. It was pretty freaking hot 88° and we got there about 11. Not much shade sitting on the slope facing the stage. The VIP areas were nice but not sure it was worth $100 extra per person. Parking on a recently plowed field was also extra but we did it because I frankly have no clue how else you could parked there. The food vendors were busy cranking out chicken sandwiches, huge pizza slices, ahi tuna nachos, sliders, as well as copious amounts of wine, beer cider and $5 a can of waters. The Saturday bill was packed with awesome talent with a crescendo of thievery Incorporated and Gary Clark Jr. Depending on the artists booked next year, we would love to return again. read more

Tasting prices are not bad ($25/person and with 2-for-1 tastings available if you look on their website). I learned that some vines are grown on site. With the tastings you can also order some food or charcuterie (which I hope to try next time!). I recommend walking in to their olive oil tasting room to try their oils and vinagrettes. I came to BR Cohn back in 2020 and just had a glass of wine on the patio. On this trip, I came back for an actual tasting. They are on the Priority Wine Pass, so we were able to do 2-for-1 tastings here. The Classic Tasting was $35/person, so doing it for $35 total was a great deal! You can also do the Reserve Tasting for $50. We came here with 2 friends and sat on the patio. It was cloudy when we first arrived, but the sun came out while we did our tasting and created a beautiful backdrop for our tasting! The large white building of the winery is contrasted nicely against their long rows of roses out front. The winery overlooks some rolling hills on the front side and the expansive vineyard on the back side. Our sommelier was Shelly and I can't say enough good things about her! She was fun, friendly, and shared so much history with us about BR Cohn (the property as well as the original owners). We learned all about how the winery as well as the olive oil company started and why they have a stage in the back that is used for concerts and performances. You could tell she was passionate about this winery and telling its story. She even brought out a Magnum bottle and explained that to us which I thought was fascinating! The tasting included 4 wines but we got a 5th because we signed up for their mailing list. All the wines were great, our favorite was the Pinot Gris! My friend enjoyed it so much that he bought a bottle. On our last glass, we got up from our table and strolled around the property. Definitely check out the back side of the property where the vineyard and stage is located! The wine trolley came and dropped off a lot of people for tastings while we were there. There was plenty of space for everyone because of how many tables are spread out throughout the property. We ended up staying for almost 2 hours and had such an amazing experience here, I'm so glad we came back after just an average experience a few years ago. This was my friend's first time ever going to a winery as she recently turned 21 and she was raving about how much she loved it here. While I've visited B.R. Cohn Winery before for the Sonoma Harvest music festival, I returned for a tour / tasting of the winery. While this experience was more of a tasting rather than a tour, sipping wines in one of the shaded patio areas overlooking the vineyards was an excellent way to spend a leisurely Saturday afternoon. We were served four wines during the tasting; the standout for me was the crisp rosé, which was light, fruity, and refreshing. Our guide provided helpful recommendations on when to serve each wine. For example, one wine was ideal for "Wednesday pasta night," while another was best suited for special occasions. B.R. Cohn also produces delicious infused olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which visitors can sample in the gift shop. Overall, the winery offers many great photo opportunities and an elegant yet laid-back atmosphere. read more

There was almost no level of service here. Did they even have a sommelier? We reserved online, which required payment up front. We reserved a table for six. They had us pick our own table, then go inside, pick up our wine flights, and carry our own wines (and even our own glasses) to our table. There, we poured and tasted at our own pace, and no one checked on us in the hour or more we were there. There were no food options. They didn't offer any water. They didn't ask what we thought of the wine or ask if we wanted to buy any. I see now on Yelp that they offer olive oil tasting, too, but they never presented that option so we ended up tasting olive oil (and buying several bottles) somewhere else. The outside area was nice. It's a pretty place. And it is dog friendly. The one time a staff member approached our table it was to refill dog's water bowls, which we really appreciated. They had two musicians playing live music, but the "reserved for tasting" tables were too far away from the music to hear it. So... you could pretty much order a flight or listen to music but not do both. Pity. They could have at least piped the music through on their speaker system. I'm not into rose wine, but they had a nice one (not as sweet as most roses). But that was the only one we really cared for. I mean, none of the wines were bad, to be clear... just not really to our liking, although we are big wine fans and drink a lot of wine from Sonoma, Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley (especially pinot noirs). There are so many reasons to love B.R. Cohn!!! They have a huge outdoor seating area with gorgeous views of the vineyard. Live music. Food is available for purchase, including cheese plates and freshly made pizza (from an outdoor pizza oven) AND are dog friendly (we couldn't resist bringing Pepito along for the trip) We had such a blast! The winery was a beautiful backdrop to the intimate ceremony and the walk down the steps was bridal and dramatic.Photos after the ceremony, in the vineyard next to the large trees turned out gorgeous and was so fun for the bridal party. Dining and dancing on the large patio overlooking the vineyard was romantic and featured a great view of the sunset. The day we visited the winery they had their music series. We sat outside on a high top and did the wine tasting while enjoying the live music by Justin Sailor. I really enjoyed their 2018 Sauvignon Blanc. We also tasted their 2017 Sangiovese, 2016 Sonoma Zinfandel and the 2016 Merlot. The tasting is $25 per person. This is definitely a music inspired winery and you can tell right away as there is a huge guitar on their lawn right in front of the entry. Once inside there are pictures of rock legends, memorabilia and merchandise. The manager of the Doobie Brothers owns and runs B.R. Cohn. We had two people pouring wine, Jason and Louis and they were both very nice and both explained the history and the wines. Jason is in the music scene as well and plays with Justin Sailor. What should have been a beautiful day, started off with an unexpected incident in the bridal suite on the winery's property. The venue claims to be "pet friendly," (not to mention kid friendly) for a wedding, but it's false. The morning of my special day, my dog found "exposed" rat bait in the bridal suite and ate two pieces. My two-year old nephew was even walking around in the bridal suite, and he could have been poisoned too. Obviously this would have never crossed our minds, since we assumed the bridal suite was "safe for kids and dogs." But it wasn't. Long story short, after my dog was poisoned, she had to be rushed to the hospital and we couldn't pick her up until midnight after the wedding. We didn't get back to our hotel until 2am on our wedding night. The whole process involved poison control, various trips to the vet, and we couldn't even enjoy the day after since we rushed her back to the hospital to get further testing since we hadn't identified the poison type yet and what specific treatment was needed. After all of this chaos, the venue never formally apologized or "formally offered" any type of courtesy. At minimum, it was a blame game between the wedding/events director at the winery and the maintenance staff since somehow the exposed rat bait was "unknowingly" placed in the bridal suite and apparently no one checked or gave us any warning. We also received an "informal offer" for them to cover the vet bills. I'm writing this review months later, and we still have not received payment for the vet bills like the events/wedding director at the venue kept promising (which by the way, the vet bill amount doesn't even make a dent in comparison to how much we spent on BR Cohn for our venue and the emotional trauma that occurred at the risk of my dog potentially dying). And after following up with the events/wedding director at BR Cohn, I received no response. I gave up for a few of months thinking I was over the emotional trauma, and after digesting the events I realized I wasn't fine with the situation because nothing had been resolved. Then my husband and I revisited the venue to talk to management. No tangible results. I even asked my wedding coordinator to reach out to the events/wedding director at the winery as a last resort, and she responded to her almost right away, but not to me. The events/wedding director acted as if I hadn't tried to follow up and thought the matter was resolved, but due to "new ownership" the situation is "complicated." Whether it is old or new ownership, she is still a representative and employee of BR Cohn, and at this point it isn't even about the check, but simply empathy and acknowledgement that this awful incident happened. Based on this situation, I honestly cannot recommend working with her or whoever "management" is in this case, if you are considering booking this venue for your wedding. And after the incident, the treatment was nothing but unprofessional. I cannot seem to find closure, and I forewarn couples who are dog parents, to ask questions and make sure there isn't exposed rat bait in the bridal suite on their special day. All of this said, it's unfortunate because I still love the beauty of this property, but the treatment from the staff after the incident and how it was handled was extremely unprofessional. The situation could have been handled differently with acknowledgment and responsiveness, but unfortunately that wasn't the case, and we're still dealing with processing the emotional trauma months later. read more

B.R. Cohn's estate is truly enchanting. I kind of gawked when I pulled into the parking lot because I couldn't handle all of the beauty. From the meticulous landscaping to the sweeping vineyard views of Sonoma valley; there is no shortage of splendor when it comes to their grounds. We embarked on a seated estate tasting that was held in an exclusive area on their back patio. The entire setup was just lovely! I'm a sucker for a nice seated tasting, and B.R. Cohn had no problem showing us their best spread. I must admit that their estate tasting setup was one of my favorites thus far! Beautifully articulated and everything was paired extremely well. It's one of those moments where you want to start tasting everything but you kind of don't because it looks so beautiful! Esthetically speaking, the estate tasting was perfect. The estate tasting was my favorite part of the entire experience. It features a wine and food pairing of their reserve red wines. Their reserve reds were fabulous! I really enjoyed their Cabernet Franc. It was light, smooth, and enjoyable. The food pairings tasted incredible as well! Reed, Katie, and John did a wonderful job in educating us about the origins of the wines and the history of the estate. We drank, we mingled, and enjoyed our private tasting. When it came time to mosey around the winery, we did just that! We made our way into their indoor tasting room where we indulged in a tasting of their white wines. Typically, I'm more of a red wine drinker. However when the weather gets warm, I crave the whites. One sip of their Pinot Gris hooked me immediately! It was crisp and refreshing; the perfect wine to sip during this heat wave. Yep, that baby happily came home with me. Tasting inside was a lot more interactive versus the estate tasting, which I super enjoyed. B.R. Cohn also produces and sells vinegars and olive oils that you can taste in a separate tasting area. They also carry many different homemade dipping sauces, all of which you can sample. WE took our time tasting many of the sauces and they all tasted wonderlful. But that Chardonnay caramel sauce, though! I mean... where have YOU been all of my life?! This caramel sauce was like the sugar from Gawd himself. I bought it not even knowing how the hell that I planned to use it. But... it was too good to NOT purchase! Aside from the caramel sauce, we also tasted many of their award winning olive oils and vinegars. I really enjoyed their basil-garlic olive oil and champagne vinegar. I was surprised at how diverse their selection was. For the most, the service that we received was excellent (especially during our seated estate tasting). However, If I had to nitpick about something, I would have liked for the wine stewards in their indoor tasting room to be informed about the wines and their promotions. We also received conflicting information from two different wine stewards in regards to the pricing of some of the wines. They were just a bit disorganized in that manner. Other than those few nuances, everything else was stellar. We really enjoyed tasting at this immaculate winery. A grand estate with enjoyable wines; it can't get any better than that. read more

I love this location. After the pandemic hit they converted the outdoor space to accommodate tastings. The view is gorgeous and the atmosphere is relaxing. Because it's spacious it's able to take large reservations. The wine is good too! They offer some light and crisp white wines as well as some deep reds. I, personally, love their cab and their Malbec best. We became members shortly after visiting and enjoy their live music in the summer. If you haven't visited, I highly recommend adding it to your list! read more

Beautiful winery and friendly service! We stopped in here on a trolley tour and our hostess had us set up at some shaded picnic tables in the lawn. It was the perfect spot to enjoy a tasting. She was so friendly and knowledgable about the wine and I'm so disappointed that I can't remember her name. Anyway, we enjoyed everything we tried and plan to order some now that we're home. This was our first time here! Service was very friendly and welcoming. It's a peaceful, laid back atmosphere with live music and and they even had a pizza truck on property. We grabbed a slice and sat down at our designated picnic table under the trees and tasted our way through our wine flight which consisted of a Brut, Pino, red blend and Cab. (All delicious!) Our pups were with us and to our delight, many other people hd their dogs too! Very kid and dog friendly. We hd a great time! read more

This is such a relaxing location! Absolutely loved that the seating was very spaced out and open. Especially perfect for COVID times to socially distance. My boyfriend and I ordered the wine flight as well as the cheese kit. The cheese kit was delicious but my only complaint would be that I wish there were more crackers! We finished all the crackers well before we made a dent in the jam. There is a great outlook and options for parties to be seated in the shade or in the sun. Guests are also very welcome to walk around and explore the venue. read more
