In other words, they don't obscure the delicate flavors and flaky textures with the kind of heavy-handed use of sweeteners found in their American counterparts. Ma Petite Cherie produces exceptional baked goods in the French tradition, not too sugary and not too heavy. Their baked goods look exactly like the ones I enjoyed every day when I lived in Europe. More importantly, they TASTE exactly the same, fluffy, buttery layers with just a hint of sweetness. If your taste runs to Krispy Kremes, sticky buns, and Twinkies, you may not appreciate Ma Petite Cherie's restraint when it comes to the use of sugar. However, if you enjoy quality baked goods that DO justice to the fine art of French cuisine, then you definitely should stop by MPC's cute little booth at the the Brentwood Farmer's Market.

By Thursday, we're counting down until pickup. Her sourdough is hands down the best I've ever had... perfect crust, soft inside, and that flavor you just can't get from a store. But what really sets her apart is the care she puts into everything she makes. You can taste it. I also order goodies for my husband's team on Fridays, and every single time it's a hit. Like... people asking where it's from, talking about it all day kind of hit, and the behavior of starving feral cats as they attack each week's goodies! It's not too often you can just eat slices of bread with nothing on it, and be completely happy. I decided to make a bacon, egg & cheese sandwich with a few slices of Garlic Parmesan. My goodness it was amazing. Pics below. We will definitely try more flavors and some of the other baked goods she has. It's pricy, but delicious and beautiful. Totally worth it in my opinion.
