Bought a regular cinnamon roll with no toppings at the Antioch food truck event. We were very disappointed in the rolls temperature and texture. The roll was cold and hard. The icing on top was cold like straight out of the refrigerator. The icing was also very thin and watery, which I prefer a thicker cream cheese frosting. It also didn't have much flavor to it. I had finally been able to taste some of Betty's Buns today. Let me say... they were ridiculously perfect. I had contacted Betty's Buns-Carol via email and requested to order 18buns for pickup here at Oakley. Our neighborhood was previously informed as to which or what days Betty's Buns would come and the hours. Due to certain circumstances, I had to request a hold on my buns for a week or so but I had already prepaid. Carol, as sweet and understanding as she is, had offered to refund my money but I insisted not to and we set up a date best for me to pickup when she was around our neighborhood. Well, the day arrived. I was the first in line and Chase had to setup before opening the trailer for business. He was kind enough to inform me about getting things ready and apologized. I informed him about picking up my prepaid order of 18buns. It took about 20min to get the first 6buns and 10more min for the dozen. Got home, heated up 2 buns, one for me and hubby and made our lattes. The cinnamon buns were not around the same sizes. They varied. Some were small and some a bit larger. Good amount of icing. Once heated, the cinnamon and icing melts nicely inside and on the bun. The cinnamon is definitely tasty and the icing works combined. It is not too sweet and I love it! I am always watching my blood sugar and these buns are such a great treat because it is not overwhelmingly sweet. I am now a great fan of Betty's Buns. I hope she continues to be successful in her business as I will continue to order from her. Carol started this business and named the business, the buns, after her mom, Betty. My husband grabbed two of these for us today at the Brentwood Farmers Market (we were very cold and hungry vendors at The Makers Boulevard). The flavor was absolutely fantastic, and I LOVE the origin story of the business. My cinnamon roll was unfortunately raw in the middle. I love a good gooey roll, but this actually tasted like raw dough towards the center, and I had to pitch about 1/3 of it. I went to the website and submitted an order form. Within 15-20 minutes the owner Carol contacted me directly through text and confirmed my order and pick up time. All orders must be 24hr in advance. That's pretty quick!! Picked up these yummy buns and presentation was beautiful and neat. Carol was super amazing and sweet. Couldn't wait to get back home and try it with my mother, placed one on a plate heated it up as recommended for 20-25 seconds and BOOM perfect!! It was so soft and delicious!! So creamy and perfect amount of sweet. Totally in love with it, so I raved about it live on social media and just like that everyone wants me to place an order.
