It's a big family here at BSociety. I look forward to my hair appointment every three months! When I first started going to Jamie I gave her a run down about the history of my hair, different things I've done so she has a better understanding. We went over the look I wanted to maintain. I came to her this summer after having been to the same person for about 7 years (she ended up moving up north) and trying one other stylist back in the first part of June this year. The stylist that I saw in June absolutely fried my hair, but with Kaitlynn's help my hair already looks and feels SO much better. Kaitlynn has been totally honest from the start about my hair and what it would take to get back to my hair health/overall blonde goals. Over the past few sessions with her, we have slowly been taking about 2 inches off each session so I can maintain length but also help my hair to grow/become healthier. I also cannot even begin to describe how much I LOVE the color she gives me. I have naturally dark eyebrows but love being blonde and have been since 7th grade. Jamie was highly recommended to me by my amazing hair stylist in LA tht I have been going to for 3 years. Supposedly Jamie worked out of the #1 salon in LA (that I go to regularly) & after being there for a short time opened her own salon in Los Gatos. I moved back to the Bay Area last year & gave her a try since she's local & my stylist spoke so greatly abt her. I got my hair fully done 05/2017 @ my regular salon in LA, during that visit she did the whole shebang which included my base, full highlight, toner&cut. My regular stylist in LA wrote down the formula combo she used on my base/toner & told me to go to Jamie & that she could do my base/anything else I want as she knows everything just as well. I took the formula & booked w/Jamie. My1st visit was great, she was super friendly, she did my base/toner (with the formula I gave her) & I loved my hair. My 2nd visit w/her was in 12/2017 &Jamie kept suggesting I give my natural root color a chance (which I don't like) but I listened to her suggestion. She insisted that my hair has a lot of "warmth" in it& it looks "red" & by growing out my natural it will cool me down. She rooted me, toned, and cut and it was fine. Fast forward to my next appointment, which was 2 weeks ago. I went in&told her I want a change. Summer is approaching, it's my birthday hair& I want bright, caramelly, pretty hair for the summer. I showed her a few different inspo photos of hair I like, so she could get an idea of the colors I was going for. She said, "Oh no problem babe! You are so rooted and have so much natural growth we can get you there no problem! Your hair is super healthy!" 4 hours later as she's blow drying, my hair is literally white/grey with that hideous root color at my base. I was freaking out inside & I am sure you could tell at my reaction in the mirror that I didn't like it atall. I literally kept saying,"Wow, it's really white" &she just kpt going as if I didn't say anything. I also asked her if she was planning on toning my hair b/c I like that ashy tone look and she said, "No, because if I tone you you're going to complain like your sister and say it's not blonde enough" (because my sister had just been in and she wrecked her hair as well). Mind you my sister & I are 2 completely different people, with completely different skin tones/hair/looks. So that statement from her threw me off even more. I let her finish blow drying&at the end I just kept saying wow it is super white. I also wanted a cut & it didn't really seem like she wanted to cut my hair so I changed my mind and told her I'll pass on the cut. I paid& tipped her very well for a service that I was extremely unhappy with. I left&thought to give it a day and look at it in natural light since salon lighting is weird and maybe it isn't as bad as I was thinking in the salon. The next day I had my friends take a couple picturesin natural light& I couldn't believe that wht I was seeing was the hair I got for paying $400! My hair was nothing even close to what I asked for. I texted Jamie&I let her know that I wasn't happy and sent photos. She responded SO RUDELY. She went into saying that my hair has "ALOT OF DIFF CLRS" that I have "red in my hair from years of coloring"she is "frustrated&tired of explaining" & "unrealistic with the amount of damage and warmth in my hair to get what I want"&that "Im never happy''???Like hold on, where was all of this when I sat down in her chair and showed her photos of what I wanted?? She said, "YESS BABE! LET'S DO IT!"So, Im really confused how all these issues have come up all the sudden? If she would have told me from the beginning, it is going to take a couple of tries to get your hair where you want it, it's damaged, it's not going to turn out those colors, etc. I would have very happily said thank you, I will get my hair done in LA&left the salon. Im very undrstndng when things r explained.She didn't have a consultation with me, she went in&said let's do it! I dnt pay $ to get my hair done to have the same ugly base I am trying to get out of? She went on then offered me a refund. Shortly after sending her the info she requested in order for her to send me my refund, she responded w/ an essay of a txt askng tht I stop "harassing and bullying her during her work day?" & "dispute it with my cc &she will not be refunding me"Her text blew me out of the water& @that point I stopped responding. I thnk wht bothers me most is her insincerity&the fact tht she ddnt apologize not once. At the end of the day even if she wrecked my hair, if she had customer service that followed I wldnt b as angry& go to the extent of posting this, but the way she handled the situation is unbelievable to me. Thanks to Jamie, I spent over $1K on my hair in a span of 2 wks2 get me back on the right track to beautiful/healthy hair. I flew to LA to get my hair back in shape & redone. Dani LaDeRoute is amazing! I wanted to get rid of the red/orange tints in my hair from box dye. I was also worried that my dark Asian hair would not hold the color too well or turn brassy. The end result of the balayage was amazing -see photos. She did such a good job and gave my hair more volume and it's now an ashy color/no longer orange. Danielle did my hair and she's very nice seems very competent and I saw her succesful work on Instagram unfortunately it didn't work out well for me I wanted to lighten up,I'm super low maintenance and haven't done my hair in over two years, so I was excited. what I got is some patchy white, gray, yellow blonde tones and shelled out a lot of $$$ for it so I figured I'd let her know I was unhappy and upset, I won't wear my hair down at all, and I thought they be willing to just tone it and save a client but they said nope they're gonna charge me. Idk why i have waited this long to write this review!? I found Jamie on IG and stalked her page until I grew the guts to change stylists and take thed chance of letting her do what she needed to with my hair. I inquired about an appt with Feb 2016 and was not surprised that the first opening I could get with her was Sept 2016. So I booked it and waited patiently. Jamie is so damn sweet and a true artist at her craft. I have never been dissatisfied with my hair since seeing her. I still cant style my hair for shit but that is my own issue. Lol I feel so damn beautiful when I walk out of her salon. Even though she double books sometimes triple books herself, she never once males any of her clients feel less important or rushes on any of them. Her assistants are talented ladies as well! Never been dissatisfied with any of their blowdries. Her loft salon is so damn cute, chic and cozy. It feels very LA. I got my hair done by Hayley yesterday and have been taking selfies all day. I must be annoying her with my tags! Anyhoo, in short, Hayley is amazing. She learned directly from Jamie who was trained at 901 LA (yes that one) and the welcoming owner of b society. So if you're worried, you shouldn't cause Hayley is totally legit. This is an adorable salon in a great neighborhood! I followed my stylist Kristen there from Cupertino. It is not as convenient a location for me, but it is worth it. It feels incredibly comfortable and the decor is cozy with just the right amount of glam touches. The prices are reasonable and the service is fantastic. Let the lovely ladies get you some coffee or tea, and then relax and enjoy getting pampered. I'm sure they are all wonderful, but I would highly recommend Kristen. She is an amazing listener and skilled with all hair types and treatments. She always leaves my hair looking fantastic after touching up my color and a haircut. I found Kristen when she started at Bsociety and have never been more satisfied with my haircuts. Everytime I leave I'm fresher than the last. About the other review calling her "unloyal", it's professional not to disclose her move so openly, or request that her clients follow her. That could offend the salon owner. But in terms of hair cuts- she kills it. Attitude- great. Salon- unparalleled. I got my wife going to Jamie and she's never been happier with her hair. It's the first time I have my highlights in California since we just moved here recently. I found about bsociety from a stranger who had nice highlights and I asked where she had them done! Kristen was great, listened to what I wanted, matched the colour of my previous highlights, covered some gray using lighter and darker highlights and excellent products and I'm really enjoying my hair. Beware! I fell for this salon after seeing nice photos on Instagram. The first time I came here was about a year and a half ago. Danielle worked on my hair. I really didn't want anything drastic as my hair was already ombré balayage but just had grown out. All I wanted was a cut/trim and a touch up to make it look fresher. I tend to kind of panic when I see my hair at the end, when it's not what I want. I paid and tipped anyways but got home and cried. I contacted Danielle after because the color was not right. It looked almost orangey. My hair is already soft brown to blonde and very easy to lift, so it wasn't a case of me having box dyed hair or anything that required more sessions. I've never had to go in for multiple sessions to reach a good blonde. She apologized and rescheduled me to come back. After the second time when she corrected it, I loved my hair! It was great! I went back to her this year after my hair had grown out again. All I wanted was the same thing, and I showed a pic of my hair she did last time to remind her, and said I just want a touch up to make it look fresher. She really didn't listen to what I wanted because what I got was something not what I asked for. Once again, the color was way off, and very uneven. And to top it off she charged me literally double what I was charged last time. I was shocked! No matter what high end salon I've been to in my life, I have never been charged that much! It was absurd! It was just under $500. Wtf. That was the biggest rip off of my life! I had to go back AGAIN for her to fix my hair because the color was wrong again, and it was not even. There were clear lines in the color where it went from blonde to brown, no fading like ombré has. It looked like someone drew a line in the sand where one half was dark and one was light. There were other areas that were clearly missed and no highlight coloring was done.. even though this was a "full" not a partial. She basically did "partial" work and called it a "full" and charged double! It wasn't even at all. One side was more blonde than the other side. One side looked untouched especially when my hair was up. These hairstylists work here but there is no manager. There is an owner but she has no control over the stylists since they just rent a station and are not employees. A lot of the people who work there come across and snobby. There isn't a friendly vibe when you walk in, but they all call everyone "babe". It's their thing. Doesn't change that the environment is snobby. Very subpar hair salon. Save your money and your hair and don't go here. I regret giving her a second chance on my hair. Don't be fooled by instagram, the lighting, the filters, and they only post the good ones. Not every job is a good job. She was pretty hungover when she did my hair, that should have been clue number one to get out of there. That's not professional to say the least, especially when the hair comes out bad and maybe that had something to do with it. There's a million hair salons in Los Gatos alone, someone can and will do a better job and not charge you almost $500 for it. Lol. read more
