I have really stubborn melasma (hyperpigmentation) on my face that I wanted covered up seamlessly. The makeup artist was able to accomplish this to my great surprise. Tiny little shop tucked away on a sidestreet in downtown Los Gatos. After driving up and down the main drag I had to call to find it, since the cross street really isn't marked. FTR, it's next door to Los Gatos Brewing Co and across from Williams Sonoma (same side of the street). It also has a very confusing and very enormous turnstile door that doesn't operate. Turns out, the actual door is on the left. Keep that in mind, when you go... so you too don't look like a complete dumbass. Despite my trials and tribulations in actually getting there, Rebecca did very nice work on my brows. They don't wax.. they tweeze, and they do an excellent job. My brows were not over tweezed by any means, just cleaned up and evened out. Not really painful, either, except perhaps on the pocketbook. $30 for your first go... $25 for followups. She's very nice, though...she listens to you and is very professional. It was also easy to get a quick appointment (the next day, basically) during the week, which is handy if you have a last minute event. I would go back... read more

Richard. Yes, Richard Sell. You need to see him if you want your beastly eyebrows tamed! I decided to visit Kiss & Make-up after researching a place to get my brows tamed. I'm extremely particular about the shape of my brows and really wanted to go to a place where they treated your brows like a piece of art. Every time I went in to get my brows done, Richard was always cordial and did an excellent job cleaning up and shaping each brow. He really takes his time to ensure that his work is GREAT. I was referred here by a friend and have been going back ever since, almost 2 years now. Richard does an AMAZING job with my brows. I have tried waxing, threading and doing them myself- nothing really impressed me. Richard tweezes and doesn't use wax. He's like a magician with those tweezers because my brows can get pretty crazy! I used to hate my brows and now I love them and get compliments on them all the time. It is pricier than waxing but definitely worth it. I never wanted to be that 50's something guy with bushy uni-brows and unsightly vagabond hairs in places where they don't belong. My appearance is even more important now as enter my late 50's.. I need every edge I can get to look young without cosmetic surgery or do it yourself drug store remedies. My wife turned me on to Kiss & Make Up, and we have been going to Rebecca and her son Richard for a few years now. Both Rebecca and Richard, have a huge loyal local following, because they know their business, and are salt of the earth people. They really care about their customers and have a tremendous eye (no pun intended) for detail. They know how to deal with the most discerning men without making them feel like they are in a salon. The delightfully eclectic ambiance has mid 60's/70's Pandora music over a nice stereo speakers overhead, hip clothing and cosmetics without making you feel that you are in a girly-girl shop. Both Rebecca and Richard give eyebrows , a sharp, crisp, natural clean look.. In my case, the sun, and aging process had bleached out the natural brown color of my eyebrows and eye lashes. My face felt old and pale. In a matter of minutes, Rebecca tinted my eye lashes and eye brows, and like magic, my almond shaped hazel eyes popped! I had all of my wedding party's makeup done here for the big day. Richard and Rebecca both tag teamed it . Everyone loved their look especially me ( the blushing bride). rebecca is some kind of brow miracle worker, to the point that when she was through with me i lept out of the chair like tiny tim when he was given the christmas miracle of the proper use of his legs again. my brows had been seriously screwed up up the street at benefit, my left arch was so much higher then my right that i had a look of perpetual surprise on my face, or maybe that i'd been stricken with a freakish case of bell's palsy... o.k. so maybe it wasn't that bad, but it was annoying me every time i looked in the mirror. rebecca worked it out, gave me some good advice and brow homework and i was out of the chair in no time. so the moral of this story is not to play fast and loose with your eyebrows and let just any hussy touch them, go see rebecca at kiss and make-up in los gatos or at her other location barbarella in willow glen like a good girl. read more

I recently had my eyelashes doen at the Los Gatos location. Rebecca was very nice upon arrival and she was very gentle when applying the lashes. However, when the appointment was done, my eyes burned and over the course of 4 days, 60% of the lashes had fallen out. I called to find out what could be done, and was basically given every excuse that it was not her fault and she could take a look, but too bad. I would not recommend going there ever again! read more

I had Rebecca shape and tint my eyebrows. The shape is alright. But I can tell one brow is higher then the other and are not evenly shaped. I was really disappointed with the tint. I was told that by getting my eyebrows tinted they would look like they were filled in before I even filled them in. So it was really disappointing when I washed my face, that same day, to see that the "filled in" part washed off and my eyebrows looked the same as before just groomed. The photo I uploaded shows before, during the tint process, after the tint process, and lastly after I washed my face. I called them about my concern that evening and they had me come in the following day to see Richard. But it was only to tell me to my face that it is suppose to wash off your skin and there is nothing else they can do. What an absolute waste of time! I even told the lady on the phone I don't live locally. Why couldn't she have told me this over the phone instead of having me drive there for no reason. Oh that's right cause she told me that it IS in fact suppose to look filled in and that it washing off so soon never happens! As a customer I feel played getting two different answers from the people who work there. I paid 50$ and was only refunded 20$. I felt scammed and wronged for them to set up an expectation and not be able to deliver and only to further inconvenience me for no resolution. read more
