There is also a lovely lunch menu with Nathan's hot dogs, sandwiches, and salads. There is cozy seating indoors and lots of fun spaces outdoors to sit (or swing) while eating. Had another fun and delicious lunch today.. indoors due to cool temperature. My gal and I have had lunch and ice cream from here before. The nostalgic ambiance, tasty home cooking, stylish plates/ silverware, attention to detail and friendly service make this a business we enjoy returning to. Our two Reubens combos (a traditional sandwich and two Nathan's hot dogs dressed reubenesque) we're tasty and accompanied by a side and some house pickles (yum). We shared a bowl of Brunswick stew which our server nicely split into separate bowls without asking. Finally, everything is priced reasonably; the overall experience is priceless. Just normal ice cream, but the clincher is they charge you $.50 extra for awful hot fudge topping. If you get a tablespoon full you are very lucky. The furniture was dirty. Come on now how much trouble is to wipe down the tables. read more

I have lived in the area for quite a while and never tried Baabals. I was excited about the opportunity to finally get lunch and ice cream there. The establishment has nice visual appeal. We had Chicago dog combos and ice cream. The food was good. The ice cream was good as well. The service was not what I would have expected. It appeared that one young lady was handling all the tables at the time and it was relatively busy. She was multitasking taking orders, scooping ice cream and delivering the food, etc. She did not seem to be very personable, possibly because she was so busy. She didn't ask if we needed anything else during the time we were eating and I had been out of drink for a time, basically eating most of my meal without any liquid to wash it down. This also made the ice cream experience less pleasurable. I also had a dirty spot on my glass that I noticed after I had drank most of it. I was able to scrub it off but took a little effort. Overall, I would return since the food was good, and I assume this was a one off experience given the number of solid reviews for Baabals. read more

This is our favorite place in Fletcher so far! The service is so amazing! The ice cream is delicious and there are so many flavors to pick from! Everyone in your family will be pleased I promise!! On top of all the amazing choices of ice cream and excellent service the outside patio and porch swing is to die for! There is a ton of outdoor seating which is great for large parties and messy kiddos! They do serve hot dogs but I don't remember the days and times. So it would be wonderful for stay at home parents, teachers off for the summer etc to go during the day. It's so reasonably priced and such a great environment! I highly recommend this place! Oh and they have a punch card rewards program...buy so many get one free! Who doesn't love free ice cream! read more

The absolute cutest place ever!!! We came up for a hike today and wanted ice cream after a long hot day. We happened to stumble upon this gem. The atmosphere was perfect for a casual, unrushed, quality time with friends afternoon. The ice cream was amazing and they had a great selection of gluten free! Defiantly worth your time. It's kinda off the beaten path, tucked away, but trust me, take the time to find it. You won't be disappointed. You can almost hear the words from Rascal Flats, Mayberry classic song coming to life merged with a Little House on the Prairie general store feel. read more

What a hidden gem this place is. We discovered it a few months back and finally got around to trying it for lunch. Not a ton of food options but everything we had was fantastic. A beautiful and quiet setting with great outdoor seating. Everyone was incredibly friendly and fast with service. The place has a huge variety of ice cream flavors. I really wish this place would offer breakfast or dinner as well but I understand that's a big undertaking. Even just a simple breakfast with some baked goods and drip coffee I think would do so great at that location. We will definitely be back either way! read more
