Pretty decent summertime staple. They have a good amount of parking and a nice location in black mountain. Their seating is atrocious. It's basically some tables with no umbrellas or shade in the middle of the parking lot. We were sweltering. Probably why many people took theirs to go or huddled under the roofing. Next time I'd sit in the grass or random chairs out back. The ice cream itself was decent. Fresh and a nice variety of flavors. I was asking about flavors and they could not remember some so they finally let me try them. Weird. I ended up with turtle something and moose tracks. Pretty small for an ice cream place but a good size for a small. The dipped soft serve was massive. So much so that I had to ask for a cup because it was a mess. About the same price as you'd pay for the homemade unique stuff and they don't take the go local card. This place is nice and a good neighborhood spot but I'll opt for one of my local favs next time. read more

Made with fresh ingredients in so many options. My favorite is the Heath Bar in my Arctic Freeze. Size medium is plenty big enough for two adults to share. How can you go wrong with ice cream! I love it. This is soft serve ice cream that you can get dipped in so many different flavors. They also have many other ice cream creations and snow cones. We had a vanilla cone dipped in cherry, a hot fudge sundae and a hot fudge cake sundae. It was all good. I may have eaten too much but I won't admit that when it comes to ice cream. My only comment is that there is one person doing everything. Since everything you order requires preparation that is a lot for one people and can be overwhelming. As a customer I don't feel like I can ask questions because she is so busy and other people are all waiting on her. She did a great job, but I have more things I would like to try when I have more time to ask questions about what I am ordering. read more

Best ice cream in Black Mountain! I got a vanilla dipped chocolate cone and everyone else got vanilla ice cream with sprinkles. It was the best soft serve ice cream ever! They only accept cash, but there is an ATM so don't panic. The seating area inside gets pretty roasting in the summer so eat your ice cream quickly. It's a bit pricey but definitely worth it. I ordered something very simple and something that they claim to be "their thing" but they ended up messing up my order. When I told them, they said "sorry" and closed the window. We have all been to dairy corner ice cream places throughout the country, this place is like one of those except......very overpriced!!! You are looking at almost $4 for a large soft serve cone and it is about the same size as what others places call a small or medium. I get it they are the only gig in town so they call the shots. I will gladly drive by this place and wave and not spend a dime there again. Lesson learned. Oddly they had like 3 people working there when I stopped and I was the only customer. Just a thought have 1 person working and lower your costs? Also just make the price a round even number and not some odd $3.83 or whatever it was with tax so patrons don't have to handle some dirty coins before they grab their cone. Factor in the tax and have the price set so it includes the sales tax, like how every other ice cream stand does it. read more

I ordered strawberry ice cream in a cup, the taste was fine but at the bottom of my cup was a small black hair. Absolutely disgusting. Makes me wonder what was in the other bites I had!!!
