An absolute hidden gem! Got take out for dinner tonight and everything was absolutely delicious!! It started when a young lady greeted me and took my order. She then asked about my day and we chatted for a bit. Paid for my order and the young lady asked me what car I was in so that she could bring the food out to me. What a nice touch! Ordered the Spring rolls, Bangkok fresh rolls, chicken satay, wonton soup, Tom Yum with Tofu 4 stars and the Drunken Noodles with shrimp, 4 stars. Wonton broth was flavorful with 4 handmade wontons. Tom Yum broth was excellent and had great spice as requested. Chicken Satay was amazing with plenty of peanut sauce. Drunken Noodles was loaded with flavor and veggies . Spring rolls and Bangkok rolls were fabulous. Honestly everything was perfection! My new favorite in town !!!!! read more

The Mother / Daughter (cook, server) who own & run the restaurant came over to thank us on our first visit. What a pleasant way to appreciate guests. House-made Thai coffee excellent. What a lucky find!! We came to grab food at another spot in the plaza and thankfully they were closed- having us choose to try this spot First. The waitress was above and beyond anyone working in the service industry. She was so sweet and kind, attentive and quick to complete her duties. She said awesome and welcoming. For her alone- it return But everything was amazing. We sat outside since it was gorgeous. The fresh rolls and chicken dumplings are now the favorite ever. And the tom cho soup delicious too. Baan Thai perfectly satisfied that craving I've been having for authentic Thai food at a reasonable price. Located in an easy-to-access strip, it's small inside with an open kitchen design I haven't seen before in any Thai or other Asian-cuisine restaurants. While apparently open for dine-in, the restaurant was empty when I came to pick up my takeout order on a Monday night. On order was a starter of their vegetarian fresh rolls, an order of pad thai with tofu, gang kiew wan (green chicken curry), and larb gai. The fresh rolls were simply made and bursting with their namesake freshness. You definitely need to dip them into the accompanying peanut sauce as they're otherwise unseasoned, but an excellent example of a light, delicious appetizer. The pad thai (which had some extra veggies added by request) was terrific, and a very large portion to boot. The green chicken curry was creamy, spicy, salty, and overall my favorite dish of the evening. Served over perfectly-cooked jasmine rice, it really hit the spot. The larb gai was serviceable, though the chicken tasted suspiciously like canned chicken I've had; perfectly edible, but not something I'd seek out for use in larb. Luckily, it was only around $7 and more of an appetizer-size portion so it was fine overall. The total came to under $40 for several meals worth of food, and the chef (and I'm assuming owner) was brusque but nice enough when I picked the food up. I've eaten here twice. I've tried two different appetizers and two different lunch entrees. Food is very appealing to the eye, fresh, and good. I did find both times the waitress to be friendly and helpful, however service is slow. They are understaffed as she is running food orders and to tables plus doing take out. That is why I have to give only 4 stars. If they improve service and add help I'd be happy to update my review. read more

I love their foood, but last week when I drove all the way down from West Asheville to pick it up, I walked in and the main person/ cooking was not wearing a mask! At all! Really Good Thai place. Restaurant was very clean. The fresh rolls were some of the best I've had. Lots of very fresh/very crisp veggies tightly packed. The peanut sauce wasn't like other places (little boring) but it was fine. I usually do a Pad Thai first time I try a place but decided on Thai Fried rice. Veggies & rice were hot and flavorful. LOVE their Tom Kha soup - both the chicken and tofu versions. Generous portions and loaded with protein and veggies. Spice level 3 is perfect for me- not too spicy to spoil the flavor but spicy enough to get your senses going! Will be back to try curry, pad Thai and their hot pot! read more

The yelp reviews were right! I found this place on yelp and WOW I AM STUNNED! Very clean new building with an intimate but quiet setting, the owner greets you personally and in many cases is your server. He is amazingly friendly, and recommended some great dishes. If you are looking for Royal Thai cuisine, look elsewhere. This is a place where you will find Mom or Auntie's cooking, -if you're lucky enough to be born in Thailand, or Thai street food from a cart if you're vacationing on one of the "Ko"s. Basically the Thai equivalent of homefried chicken, biscuits and gravy, and NC bbq. Home food, and honestly better than most you'll find anywhere, even in Thailand. They also serve a nice version of larb/laab (Laotian meat salad), fully cooked to American standards (not raw to Laotian standards), and redolent with the aroma of toasted, ground Jasmine rice. Cooking is a little slow, typical of homestyle cuisine, which makes it not a place you'll want to visit in a hurry when you have a movie due to start in 30 minutes. If your looking for ambiance, keep looking. If your looking for taste, this is the place. My husband and I had the Masaman and the Red Curry and we were both pleasantly surprised how good it was. I love everything about the place. If you use to go to Noi's Thai Kitchen, and enjoyed it, this Noi after she left and opened this location.

I thought I was in luck because I was the only customer after the traditional lunch hour. False. After the lady gave me a menu, she immediately left without asking for a drink. No biggie. When she came back, I had to mention the drink when I ordered an appetizer and entree. The app I ordered was #A4, the shrimp cakes. They were soggy on the outside, very watery and rubbery on the inside as if they were frozen and heated in the microwave. They took the plate back, and did not charge me for it. I went generic with the entree and ordered a chicken Pad Thai. The dish looked great, but it was overly sweet without being savory or spicy. I asked for more fish sauce and chili and my server was not pleased. She tells me "Pad Thai is supposed to be sweet". I agreed but also let her know that it's supposed to be slightly salty and spicy as well. After having to chase down a refill and my check, I've decided one time was enough for me here. I should write more reviews which praises the establishments that deserve it instead of waiting until I've been dealt a plate of crap to jump on Yelp. There was no apology, no thank you...nothing. This was the worst Thai food experience I've had. Poor service and very bland tasting entrees. The seasoning was forced and just unauthentic. Our curry and stir fry dishes were... edible. It was our first and definitely last time coming here. The customers at the table adjacent to ours had the same unhappy experience. I love the pad Thai so I got that and it was delicious. I ordered it spicy and they brought out the spicy sauce on the side so I am assuming they forgot to put it on the dish. If not that is a weird way to serve it. The chicken pieces were very very tiny but whatchagonnado. My lady friend got the curry and it did seem watered down, but I didn't have any so not sure.
