Ordering was easy with the worker but there was also an iPad to order off of that looked like it had photos on it which is helpful. I got the summer roll and pad Thai. The summer roll came with no shrimp and very basil-forward, which is not like any of the other summer rolls I've had in other locations. The pad Thai dish was nice size considering the $18 price and it was tasty, they included a nice amount of bean sprouts! My friends liked their udon noodles and pot stickers. My friend ordered a side of fried rice and it didn't look like normal fried rice, but we saw a plate of fried rice go out to another table and it looked like it should have so not sure what happened there. I've been ordering from them for years. I LOVE the drive thru part of this restaurant! I just go online and then pick up. Never a bad experience. Somehow my husband and I ended up here two different times thinking we hadn't been before. We don't bring our boys because they wouldn't appreciate the menu. Huge bowls of curry, noodles and soups. Something has changed in the food at this restaurant, whether it be the food itself or the cook. We ordered Spicy Scallion Chicken and Teriyaki Beef. The Teriyaki Beef was a plate of mushy vegetables, chewy beef and the sauce had no teriyaki flavor at all. The Scallion Chicken was mushy, when it is usually crispy and there was no extra sauce on the plate at all. We most likely will mark this one off of our rotation. read more

I really wanted LOVE this place but it was only okay. I will return and learn what they do best though because of their sesame chicken alone. It was incredible. You walk in pick a table and order at the counter, they bring your food over. Very well decorated interior nice environment! They have plenty of options of bubble tea & milk tea. Their menu is huge! (Red tea base,passion fruit & lychee popping boba is my go to drink) I got the edamame which I found to be a little overcooked. The ramen I had was a little flavorless but it has good amount and variety of toppings. I did have an issue with my soup that was immediately taken care of by the staff and apologies were made. I was recommended this spot by another Vietnamese yelper and let me tell you it did not disappoint! I am by no means a pho expert but the broth was light and clean and the noodles were cooked well. Nice blend of spice and flavor without being too overwhelmingly saucy). The ok: Crab Rangoon (pretty basic! neither bad nor amazing. Good and basic). Spicy Crispy Scallion Chicken (reminds me of a Kung Pao, maybe? Nice and crisp). The disappointing: Lo Mein (zero flavor!!! I honestly don't know how this were SO meh). Mix it up and I guarantee there will be at least 5 minutes of silence as you devour these tasty noodles. Quite simply, the Ting Ting Noodles hits on all the flavors that most Americans crave when they want Chinese food - that savory soy, that hint of heat, that touch of sweet and that little bit of satisfyingly oil that is the backbone of why Chinese food is so craveable. The chewy noodles and the pop of crunch from fresh veggies. In a small town with utterly lackluster Chinese food options in town, the Ting Ting Noodles shine. Always a hit for me is the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. I've also tried the Beef Pho which was surprisingly tasty. Not 100% authentic, but pretty darn good. As a Vietnamese American, I think it is one of the best beef phos in this little town. And don't forget to get a Taro bubble tea with brown sugar boba to finish things off. People are always complaining about prices. At the time of this review the Ting Ting Noodles are $11. I just went to Arby's for a mediocre lunch the other day and got a chicken wrap, curly fries and a bottle of water for $10. And the Arby's meal was very meh. For $1 more, you can get the Ting Ting Noodles made fresh to order, not from a frozen package. I don't think that's expensive. It's all about what you see as value I guess. read more

Oh god, it's been a while since I've given a 1 star review for anything, but 1 star = "not good" and that is truly how I would describe the food. I'll preface this review by saying that the food IS edible, the curry did look like red curry, and the boba tea did look like boba tea. Beyond that.... - I originally thought they gave me purely vegetables because I couldn't identify the chicken in the curry. But there was a lot of chicken... it just didn't look like chicken. It was gummy and didn't taste like chicken either. - The curry flavor is watered down. Literally watered down. If I were blind and had to differentiate between water and the curry based on liquid consistency, I don't think I could do it. - The boba in the bubble milk tea was hard. I had to work really hard to get the boba up the straw (they were clumped together), and then chew the boba a lot more than usual. - The milk tea tasted like watery tea with a little bit of milk, plus a lot of sweetener. - There was what looked like a tiny bit of hair in my curry I spent $25 on DoorDash for chicken red curry and classic bubble tea, and it would be a disservice to other people considering take out options if I did not write a review. At least they made sure to give a boba straw in the take out package (they didn't give any other utensils though). And the food was well-packaged. read more

I love the concept of Typhoon Noodle, being in an updated fast food restaurant where you order at the counter. I've been hearing a bunch of hype about Typhoon and decided to check it out today, Sunday at 3pm. There were probably 4 other tables already eating when I arrived and I was able to order right away. I went for the Pad Thai with shrimp and the crab rangoons to start. I was surprised that no one sitting outside considering that it was 70 degrees out but I was happy to have the whole patio to myself. The crab rangoons came out in about 5 minutes and tasted good but they weren't great. They were a bit more crispy than I like and they were lacking on the filling. Pretty presentation though. The food came out in another 10 minutes and the Pad Thai was beautiful and the dishes that they serve their food on is really cool. The Pad Thai was actually really tasty although I will say that the sauce wasn't as peanuty as I prefer. I like it better when the sauce has a bit of a peanut butter flavor and this was more of a bbq flavor almost. Regardless, I really enjoyed it as it has a good flavor and was the perfect size portion. I really like the interior decor too as it is still really casual but a step up from a fast food joint. The staff was friendly and quick too. My husband took me here after he tried it and really liked it. I must say, I wasn't totally impressed. I liked the staff and the quirkiness. I loved the art. The menu looks very well balanced and there is a lot to try. The fruit drinks are fun as they make them and then seal them up for you with super cute designs. We had crab rangoon, spicy chicken scallion chicken and vegetable lo mein. The crab rangoon was just kind of bland. I LOVE crab rangoon. I only ate one piece. The egg was perfectly cooked, and the pork belly was tasty, if a little tough. The vegetables were more hit-or-miss, although the bok choy appeared to be fresh and tasted fine. The atmosphere favors function over form, but was reasonably comfortable and had plenty of space. I also found the menu prices to be quite reasonable, so overall, this place is a win. read more

The beef chow fun and the chicken pad thai are ok - the flavor is quite muted/bland, but I did detect a hint of "wok hei" (look it up if you need to) in the former. The pad thai could use more of the sweet, sour, and salty elements. The chicken in the pad thai didn't really taste like chicken - maybe too much corn starch? Texture was odd. The scallion pancakes didn't really have any scallions but it was tasty anyway. Would have been 3 stars but found a piece of bone in the pad thai. read more

If any curry was even put on it, it washed away in the watery Mixture. Also the side of rice was very small. My husband ordered a spicy chicken dish and he said it was okay, however there was no spice whatsoever. There were only two chilies laid on the plate. The type of plates they use have three legs on it, so when you put your fork into your food, it always falls to the side. Nothing to complain about really, just a strange serving dish. Having just moved to Asheville and surrounded by boxes, with no clue which ones contain my cookware, I decided to go pick up some grub. Using my GPS and "Food near me" I was directed to Typhoon Noodle on Hendersonville Road. When I walked in, I was approached by a lovely young lady who saw me looking at the menu like I had no clue, which was true. I told her it was my first time there and I was thinking I could go for noodles and chicken. She recommended the Pad Thai, add chicken and I went for it, adding Pot Stickers to my take out order. She said it would be about 15 minutes so I chose a space to hang out & wait. Walking over to their condiment bar, I noted their hot chili oil and other free condiments and thought it was a nice touch. Love hot chili oil. Got some to go. I recommend you do the same. 10 minutes later, she was back with my order and I was out the door. When I got home, everything was delicious. I didn't order anything extraordinary, but this fusion noodle place offers noodle dishes from different asian cuisines, so not exactly sure which they consider their specialty, but it was yummy. A week later, I got a craving and ordered delivery. This time, Crispy Calamari and Thai Red Curry. I was worried the calamari would be rubber by the time it arrived. Happily, it was well packaged with ventilation, so not sweaty or soggy. Smart chef. And the calamari was about 8-10 large thick rings, soft and perfectly cooked, not chewy and overdone. It came with a spicy mayo type sauce that was delicious as well as a duck sauce. I had asked them to throw in some additional condiment sauces with my order since my kitchen is still in disarray. The red curry wasn't hot/spicy. It was white girl spicy, which was fine with me. But I think you can order it spicier and I probably didn't pay attention on the online ordering. I really enjoyed it regardless, and it was enough for a whole other meal, because I had added an extra side of rice for $2. Everyone needs an easy quick Asian place when they just want to eat and not get bogged down in debate about authenticity, food snobbery, etc. This is mine. Enjoyable & yummy. read more

Well, my wife and I finally got the chance to stop in at the Typhoon Noodle for dinner. It wasn't what we expected at all. We had the impression it was a typical sit down type restaurant but it is more like the Panda Express, a take out, sit down, drive thru fast food restaurant. So, we gave it a shot. The menu has some nice options for various types of food. My wife chose the ginger salad followed followed by the chicken on a stick and some jasmine rice. My pick was the spring rolls followed by the sesame chicken with broccoli and some fried rice. The food was good and there was plenty of it. It wasn't our type of restaurant for dinner but we tried it and now we know. read more

We got takeout from here after a movie. We all needed food and this looked promising. It's takeout only at the moment due to safety concerns which is ok. The food was only ok. Potentially they wanted to appeal to the western North Carolina palette and not error on the side of too much flavor. We drove by this place on the main drag in south Asheville and decided to stop in. I loved that their menu offers items from multiple Asian countries, and quite honestly, had everything we wanted. We ordered at the counter (no wait) and then got a number. We found a booth as the place was energietic, but not completely full. I then explored the condiment bar, which again, had everything. Soy sauce, chili paste, chili oil, hot mustard...you name it! I love that you could get it all yourself. It's a win win for the customer and the business. No wasted condiments and you can have as much of what you like as you want without having to ask for it. We got Pho, Ramen, Spring Rolls, Crab Rangoons, and Curry.
