I came here for brunch with four of my friends I got the whipped ricotta, the oven roasted turkey sandwich and the jo bowl with the fort Greene fog which was delicious. Everything was delicious and the place had such a warm cozy feel. My friends loved their dishes, one of them being the split pea soup of the day. We happened to be the first ones in on a Saturday morning. Staff were really welcoming and seated us right away. The menu is small and it is very much because everything packs a lot of flavor. I had the jerk chicken sandwich and wow, it was amazing. I had the side salad which was delicious and my friends got the fries, they did not disappoint. I had no room for desert but it looked like I missed out from what I can see at nearby tables. We also had the chai latte and fresh watermen juice. My only complaint with the drinks is that they were really small. I will be back here to try more menu items. The prices were on par with the area but reasonable. The ambience was really relaxed and it felt like home when you walked in, was very inviting and it made you want to stay longer. Confusing experience... went at 6 pm on a Saturday and multiple menu items were unavailable. It seemed odd they would run out of basic things (fries, manchego toast) during dinner service. The two items I was able to try (little gem wedges and brussel sprouts) were both good though, as was the sangria. I wanted to sit in the backyard as it looked really cute from their Instagram. We recently discovered this gem with most delicious breakfast/lunch gabi bowl. We mostly order delivery. I am very frustrated with inconsistencies. Recently the orders have been extremely salty - impossible to eat with huge chunks of salt everywhere. They also forget to put things like dressing. Baba Cool has the best turkey sandwich in NYC and that's not hyperbole. I've eaten it 6 times now and it hasn't failed. This isn't a drill. In a sliced turkey world, these beautiful people PULL their turkey. Tn I spoke w Oliver (epic bartender server dude) and Gabby (fun owner human) to get the inside scoop on how the fuck they make their turkey so juicy yummy delish. Turns out they brine these whole 26 lb birds over night. After cooking, They shred these things (dark and white meat combined) and then put them on crispy baguettes w apple, carmalized onion manchego, and fig jam. It's the perfect sandwich. Go. My friend ordered a simple Moscow Mule to which a different bar-tender retorted: "SURE, BECAUSE WE JUST MAKE ANYTHING HERE" (in a sarcastic tone). I asked the mustachioed dude for a Bud Light later and he scoffed, screamed "WELL IF YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE A LIGHT BEER THEN YOU SHOULD GET THIS" and then served me a different light beer on tap. I come into baba cool a lot and I really love it here but today I had a very different experience I sat for almost an hour ordered a single sandwich ended up taking it to go because it was taking so long and I got home to discover a very disappointing sandwich it was completely burned and the fries didn't look great as well. I've been here so many times and usually experience amazing atmosphere service food but today just was not that. Update the manager reached out and totally rectified the situation. I got the Choux bowl which was okay other than the brussel sprouts that were really delicious and I got the Stormy night (?) drink which was perhaps an acquired taste. A restaurant should prioritize its quality of food and service over appearance. Baba Cool's menu appears appetizing at first glance, but the dishes are poorly executed and not worth the price. Anchovies were terrible, brisket was mediocre, sandwiches are so-so. Stay away from most of the things on the lunch menu and don't even try to sample the dinner menu. The restaurant looks beautiful, nice place to have a drink. The couches in the backyard might be a bit wet after a downpour. More thought needs to be put into the food menu. It's trying to do too many different things but not being good at any of them. I would love to see this place succeed but it won't with its current menu. They need to try to source better products and put more thought and care in to their dishes. read more

Incredible brunch spot with a cozy atmosphere, with great prices for New York standards. I got the Beet Hummus on a whim, and those beets had no right being that good. The scrambled eggs in my Breakfast Sandwich were also super fluffy and light. I usually don't like beets and eggs, but whatever black magic Baba Cool worked has got me second guessing! The male server who rang us up was incredibly rude, smirked at my friend and I, and sneered "you're going to be splitting your $11 bill?" Needless to say, we were taken aback by this uncalled for attitude and left feeling disrespected and upset. the place is aesthetically pleasing and the backyard is very pretty but gets very hot because of their clear roof over it which contains the heat- why wouldnt you place fans outside for that reason..? the drinks were good and our waiter was very sweet. the food however came out burnt, the place was not busy so there really isn't any excuse- not sure why the cook knowing it's burnt would allow it to be served that way? i don't think i would go back- it was a time ok spent, but disappointing in the food department. read more

Love this restaurant! The juxtaposition of flavors is creative and yummy. The menus is fresh and healthy while maintaining delicious and beautiful food. It's also a cool spot that makes you feel comfortable but at the same time hip. Check out the bathroom. The design is cool, creative and compliments the baba cool vibe. The backyard is chill and even has a pétanque court with the rules on a board for those that want to learn. Super atmosphere for a date, meal with friends, or a celebration. Had a lovely dinner here with a friend last night. The back patio is super cute (love the petanque court!) and has a great, laid back vibe. We also had excellent service - attentive but also let us chat and catch up and did not rush us. We split a bunch of dishes (fries, chicken wings, kale salad with jerk chicken, and the manchego plate) - all were excellent.
