Extremely disappointing experience purchasing a new Yamaha GP SVHO WaveRunner and trailer from Babbitt's. I paid for what I understood was a brand-new aluminum trailer, but received a steel trailer that already had visible rust/corrosion in multiple areas, as shown in the attached photos. I also discovered that the WaveRunner had a used battery installed, was not provided the security PIN needed for the screen, and had to make multiple trips back to the dealership to address issues that should have been resolved before delivery. I also requested documentation regarding the purchase and attempted to resolve the trailer issue, but was unable to obtain a satisfactory resolution or refund. There were also attempts to add fees that I had not agreed to. One star is being generous. Do not use these folks for anything. I ordered parts that were all shown as in stock. They took 7 days to ship everything out which is already ridiculous. I finally get my parts and find its missing a bearing yet I was charged for it. I call them up and they tell me is backordered and estimated ship date is 7 months out. I cancel the backorder and buy the bearing from another supplier. One week later I get an email saying my bearing has shipped. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I call Babbitts back and talk to the same guy as a week earlier, he tells me their cancellations take "awhile" to process and this sometimes happens.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He tells me the best I can do is to send it back and they'll graciously waive the restock fee but shipping is on me, or I can refuse delivery and they'll refund my CC when they get the item back. I brought an older 1982 Honda Goldwing that needed some repairs so I paid a friend $200 to transport the bike 80 miles to Babbitts. Prior to bringing the bike, I was assured TWICE that my bike would be looked at and repairs will be addressed. Mind you, ZERO mention of any diagnostic fees, which when asked about I was just told told to bring the bike in and they would look at it. So I dropped the bike off on a Sunday and by Monday 11:00am I received a call from Antonio in the service department who went on to explain how it was going to cost me nearly ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS just to diagnose the issues I mentioned with ZERO of that money being used later for parts or labor. Basically I feel this was just a nice way of Antonio saying "piss of dummy we don't want to work on your bike". BEWARE: This company just screwed me royally. After 11 days of placing an order with Babbitt's, I finally decided to call and figure out why all I had received had been an order confirmation. I was told one of the items was currently on back order and there was no estimate as to when I would actually be sent the part I had paid for. I was given the option to cancel the order over the phone and search for another business that actually had my parts in stock. We were settled and believing I would receive my refund as I had been told, I placed another order with Partzilla at a premium. This brings the story to today, two days after cancelling the order. Suddenly this afternoon, I receive an email from Babbitt's informing me that my order had been shipped out! I politely called and this time spoke to a male representative who sounded like he wanted to do anything else on the planet but listen to what I had to say and why I was upset. Rather, this gentleman shifted the blame to me and began explaining that due to "by-laws" they are legally allowed to ship items out for three days after cancellation without informing or even speaking to the customer. His advice was for me to ship everything back (internationally, as I am Canadian and a student who can't afford to lose money on two of the exact same orders) for a refund. Now, I don't know if this by-law talk was legitimate considering I am not American but regardless, this is some of the worst business practices and customer service I have ever experienced. They are making it seem like I'm the one who made a mistake and don't want to own up to what they did and make things right. Believe me, you don't want to go through this. Update: I would like to add that shipping costs $54.60USD one way, meaning that Babbitt's is asking me to pay over $100USD FOR THEIR MISTAKE! I just want my money back and p.s., it still hasn't arrived even though I placed the order on September 16th (It is now September 29). Update (September 30): They just contacted me and said the best they can do is waive a RESTOCKING FEE!!! if I return the products, while still paying to return them at my own cost!!! What is this? That means this part was shipped at most 2 days after I got the backorder notification. Trying to get a refund was impossible because the order had "shipped" 6 days after I got a cancellation confirmation via email. They were going to ship me the part 6 days after I cancelled it and make me go through the return process, which involves a 25% restocking fee. Unacceptable business practices, on top of that they magically found the part in their shipping area and pulled it before it went out only after I did a charge back with my bank and said they couldn't refund me because of the charge back. I made the mistake as a first time buyer of ordering a part i thought i needed and when i realized i didn't need it I returned it. To my surprise they charged me $41 to restock the item. Nowhere in the purchasing process does it say that they charge a 25% restocking fee. (you have to specifically go look for that info) I called to see about getting a credit and they talked over me once they realize the nature of the call, they have 0 customer service and even the supervisor I spoke with was just as rude as the associate. I ordered some Yamaha parts from here. (couple gaskets and a bolt) two separate orders. I still haven't received them, been over a month. When I called, they told me that they were shipped almost 2 weeks ago. When I asked them to help track them they did. Told me they were delivered. Once again I never received them.
