About 5 years of experience, this is a great location that's tucked away. Babe has a nice variety of holes and allows for you to work on most shot types. Great and helpful staff with a renovated clubhouse with nice tv's. Great day out and highly recommend to all golf types!

Course was in very rough shape and not a very good value for the money spent. Pace of play was good. We will not be in a hurry to return

Enjoyable course. Greens and fairways were in good shape. Pace of play was fairly fast. Decent hot dogs at the grill.

Play it frequently. Very forgiving. Course is in fairly good shape. Staff are great and the city has done a great job in maintaining it.

Pace of play was fine and the fairways are enjoyable with moderate challenges.

If you really want to hear about it, the first thing that depresses you about playing golf down in…read moreTampa is the sheer amount of phony Florida golfers that are v anity handicaps the second is the sunshine sticking to everything like warm glue and beating down on you constantly for ten months. Back home in New York, when I hit a pure 2-iron off the deck, the cold air bites your face a few months out of the year and lets you know you're alive, but out here at Heritage Isles Golf & Country Club, you're just sweating through your shirt before you even tee off. It kills me, it really does. I carried an 8.7 handicap at the time, not that I like bragging about it, because as soon as you start getting good at something, if you aren't careful, you start showing off, and then you aren't good mentally anymore, yiu can become a jerk, so I figured I'd try to tear this place apart from the back Gold tees at nearly seven thousand yards. But Florida golf is a different playing experience from the northeast. Half the course is built right over some swampy wetlands, and every single hole has water sitting on it, waiting to swallow up a perfectly struck draw that a little unnoticed invisible wind gust just ate. Water holes are like a godly must here, every hole has some and its depressing and weird. You hit a tight, beautiful shot right down the fairway, and suddenly it hops off this sticky Bermuda grass and disappears into a ditch where an alligator is probably sitting around pretending to be sleeping, but ready to go full on prehistoric if you get too close. The par-3s are long as hell, too. You get up to sixteen, playing almost two hundred and thirty yards over water and swamp, and all these old guys in pastel polo shirts are standing by their carts giving each other advice. It's phony as a three-dollar bill. Here's my advice for them "stop talking so much, just grip it 'n rip it". They've got these wooden footbridges everywhere connecting the fairways over the marshes, and you rumble your cart across and over them feeling like you're on some staged safari tour watching bad golf, instead of playing a serious round. I ended up shooting a seventy seven, which made me feel pretty depressed because I missed a six-footer for birdie on eighteen after cutting the dogleg over the lake. The green was fast and smooth enough, I'll give them that, but the whole setup just makes me miss northern turf. If you're a low handicap stuck in Tampa, it'll test your short game and keep you honest, but the endless palm trees and country-club phoniness will make you want to call up somebody and go grab a drink instead.

It was a delight to encounter employees who clearly love their jobs, and want you to enjoy your time golfing, dining or exercising. The facilities feature the most up to date technology for both golfing and exercising. There are two on site restaurants. One is a bistro style eatery, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The best grits and bacon I have EVER had! The other restaurant, The Albatross, is a sexy, high end steak and seafood spot. I'd put the meals I've had there up against any famous big city dining establishment. The lodging for out of town guests may be one of my favorite amenities. The finishes, the decor, the comfort ... the luxury! There is nothing else like it in this area of Florida. Though I am not a golfer myself, I do know that the greens are immaculate enough to host an annual LPGA event. Should you be lucky enough to be invited by a member to visit The Pelican, it is an invitation you should accept!

Now it is because the mosquitoes were relentless, I mean just horrifying is an understatement! I have to have over a 100 bites throughout my body. There was no way of concentrating on the game when these irritating creatures are attacking you, just no rest from them at all. I fought the good fight for 18 holes but they ultimately won the battle and I have the scars to show! The golf course has ample parking for its golfers. They have a very nice pro shop with lots of gear and clothing for sale. They also have a golf simulator that you can use for a fee. The snack bar called the 8 Iron Grill has a full menu to satisfy your hunger. The course is in fair condition considering we are finally getting rain once again. It will take time for the bare spot throughout the course to fill back in. I found that there were lots of areas where you had thin or no grass on some lies. The tee boxes need grass and some of the greens need work as well. Some pros and cons. Pros: Convenient location, easy access with plenty of parking if you have base privileges. The staff here in the pro shop are friendly. No starter today, we just went out to the 1st tee box. The golf carts are new and in great shape, no GPS (so sad) , very nice ride! The practice areas here are good, nice putting green with lots of room. Driving range is available. The chipping green is good size to work on your short game. There is also a beverage cart and saw it several times throughout the round so there is no reason to go thirsty during the day. Ball cleaners were available throughout the course. Cons: Carts don't have GPS, they do have a geo tracker so you can't drive too close to the greens, the cart will let you know! Oh, did I say anything about the stink'in mosquitos, they were the worst ever! I normally would not give such a low star rating but the mosquitos situation demands it!
