They might have fantastic food but we will never know! We walked in at 11:04am, a somewhat large group (9 of us including 2 smalls) and on a road trip. Had just left hotel that did not have breakfast so we all wanted breakfast. Now I know a LOT of chain restaurants have a policy to stop breakfast at a certain time. But there was no sign, nothing on website, no place where it indicated they stopped at 11. We were told at register that we couldn't order breakfast. I knew my out of state visiting family (who were all weary from road tripping already) were not going to be happy. We even asked if they could possibly make an exception (is it impossible to pull out a few eggs to put on sandwiches instead of lunch meat?) because we barely missed the cutoff and we were a large group. We probably would easily have spent $100 on food for all of us! I'm sorry but I don't understand how a small business with personal contact cannot make small adjustments for other human beings. Whatever. We found a place that did make breakfast sandwiches and went there instead. ‍ I'm pretty sure whatever inconvenience or cost for making breakfast at 11:07 instead of 10:50 or whatever time would have been outweighed by the amount of service we would've given. Sad to have to be frustrated at what seemed like a place we would've liked. But I guess the bigger loss is probably theirs! read more

Really good sandwiches that are huge! 1/2 sandwich is plenty for lunch. They were a bit heavy on the mustard on all of our sandwiches even for mustard lovers. It was just too much. Great fresh baked bread. The big negative was It took around 40-45 min for our to go sandwiches. This including waiting in line and get our sandwiches. They were super slow while they were making the sandwiches. They just were not moving fast or even at a moderate pace. So I would not go back when I am traveling. It put us a bit behind on our travels. It took double the amount of time we thought it would take. Service was pleasant, but slow and prices are fine. read more

Great cupcakes, but the sandwiches were only so-so. We had chocolate peanut butter and red velvet cupcakes. Both were delicious. The veggie babe sandwich and the Italian dream sandwich had very little flavor. The regular babe sandwich was pretty good. read more

Excellent lunch place. Every time I come in the employees are really nice and friendly. I have tried a few of there soups and sandwiches and all have been amazing. A full size sandwich cost 10$ and it will defiantly get you full. Fresh baked bread can't. Can't go wrong coming here. read more

Well, finally found a great sandwich! My husband and I shared a Katie Girl on their jalapeño bread, and honestly we could have shared a half! Meat was good, not just processed slices like you find at most places these days. I read some reviews that said they were overpriced, but I paid $13 to feed two, not light eaters, and couldn't finish it, seems like a great deal to me. We'll definitely be going back. read more

funky little local bakery serving pastries & breads along with breakfast and lunch. Looks to be in an old bank building possibly. Delicious looking pastry items but they were sold out on many things on our visit. Making all of their breads & bagels in house is a great beginning to lunch and many of the whole sandwiches are quite large. We wisely decided to enjoy halves today. Wife picked the Tommy Pastrami-sourdough roll with pastrami, provolone, lettuce, tomato, and pickle served toasted. My choice was the Italian Dream-italian roll salami, roasted chicken, tomato, red onion, and house sauce (left off the olives) also served toasted. Both sandwiches were delicious and very filling as halves with chips on the side. The rolls had that nice fresh baked texture to them and grilled perfectly. Had to try a brownie to finish and while we thought it was a bit dry, definitely enjoyed the deep chocolate flavor. Next time we will try to arrive earlier for breakfast and better pastry selection. Great sandwiches. Driving down from Portland back so Southern California and stopped at this place. We ordered a couple sandwiches and they were wonderful. I saw the open sign to this new place on the north end of town and had a quick look. They are a bit new and so will need to find their niche but I'm so happy to have another choice for fresh baked goods. It was after lunch hour but there were two tables eating really good looking sandwiches that would be difficult to eat in one try. I was hoping for fresh loafs of bread in various types which they didn't have today, but I did try three of the smaller round rolls they use for their sandwiches. Loved this place! Stopped in on my way out of town after a rafting trip on the Rogue River. The person who took my order could not have been friendlier or more polite. I ordered the Joe Fly 1/2 sandwich. It comes on delicious Jalapeno bread, freshly baked and just the right combo of crispy on the outside and soft bread. I loved this sandwich and would definitely order it again! I also bought a slice of the cheese cake that is in the cooler with the cold drinks. It says it is baked daily...and I believe it..it was really, really good. It has the feel of a family owned business..but I am not sure about that. It is so nice to know of a great bakery with delicious sandwiches and nice people and I will definitely return to the next time I am in Grant's Pass. read more

As we were heading out of town we stopped in for a bite to eat. As we looked over the delightful menu we decided on the Jo Fly sandwich. BEST Sandwich either one of us have ever had in our lives, hands down, without a doubt!! First of all, the bread was unbelievable!! Perfect combination of softness and crispness in texture. I am from Springfield, Oregon. I literally want to get a truck, load Babes Bakery in it and move it to my front yard. My family & I were visiting my granddaughter & we stayed in the worst motel ever. The shinning light was the bakery next door. We went over on a Sat. morning & got LOTS of goodies to take to her house so we could have coffee, eat, visit & of course take pictures. We ended up talking about this incredible feast we were enjoying. My favorite was a savory butterfly shaped pastry fill with a herb cream cheese topped with 2 slices of bacon. I need this pastry but I can't move to Grants Pass. All of the pastries that were considered sweet were not overly sweet. Lots of fresh fruit, honey, & nuts. Everything was decadent to say the least. The cost is more than you would pay at a donut place but you can't compare the products. Next time I go down for a visit again I will be going back & trying their lunch as well. P.S. They are completely closed on Sunday. If you are visiting & want to take something home with you, you need to get it by Sat. 4:00 p.m. or wait until Monday. I had to leave Grants Pass on Sunday but I was really tempted to camp on their walkway & be there when they opened. read more

Babes Bakery is amazing. I am from Orange County and I know my cupcakes. Babes cupcakes are moist and perfectly sweetened. I recommend the Sundae cupcake, carrot cake, and red velvet. The breads are baked fresh and are delicious. The place is small & quaint. We drove all over Grants Pass for a cupcake for my sisters birthday and stumbled on to Babes bakery. This is a sad update. My last few experiences with Babe's have been sub-par. My staple, the "Veggie Babe" sandwich, has literally been reduced to half the size it used to be and the bread has been hard and almost tasted burnt. Their menu is constantly changing and they seem to have quite a few details to iron out still... I will say that they have great potential, but for now, I'm going to stick with Bluestone Bakery until they get their flow figured out. read more

This place has amazing food. However 50% of the time they mess up something with my order. One time it was they didn't make my salad but made my husband...when they did they forgot stuff in the salad (standard thing, I didn't ask for changes) and the forgot our shakes then made the one shake we didn't ask for...forgot the second and just made the shake twice. Another time 30 minutes still didn't receive food...come to find out they forgot to make it. The first time the tried to make up for the problems...second they just said sorry for the wait. I really want to like the place cause the food is so good. But this becoming a regular thing when I go. read more

Lost my order. Sorry to say this, but I walked in and was immediately recognized. Made and order if one breakfast sandwich. Sat in plain sight. Nothing. After 30 minutes and customers after me being served I realized that this isn't going to happen. I waited that long because I know they obviously scratch make everything. But a breakfast sandwich should be out a lot sooner than 30. Obviously they lost my order. I wasn't mad. Just disappointed. Great sandwiches to be had while waiting for the Tesla to charge. The Esther, the Bel's Hot Babe, both excellent. Stopped here on our way up to Seattle and enjoyed it so much we made a point of returning on our way back. As another review said, great for both breakfast and lunch, with super-friendly service, good coffee and a wide selection of sandwiches on a variety of breads that they make themselves.
