We go pretty much every Saturday... I completely recommend their donuts over most places in town. I love their Apple Fritters, and I am an Apple Fritter connoisseur. Actually, I just eat them all the time, I have no specific Apple Fritter training, no Fritter License to speak of.. These Apple Fritters are close to the top of my list though. I also like their coffee; it's a little hidden gem here. My 18 month old enjoys this place as well. Her favorite things about it are: eating parts of everyone's doughnut and then refusing to take a nap later (sugar high), peeling stickers off the wall that she can reach, and saying hello to every person that walks in the door. I've been to Babe's several times now as it is just down the street from work. A lot of vendors bring it by or office as well. I've enjoyed everything that I've had from Babe's. Coming to Babe's Doughnuts is like dying and going to heaven. I love their glazed doughnuts and the red velvet doughnut is soooo amazing. I've had the sausages rolled in the croissants and oh my goodness...those are the only food items that I'll eat that has jalapeños in them. The young man that takes my order is always soooo friendly and polite. The only thing that I would say needs to be changed is the hours. Stopped in on a Saturday morning with my mom and toddler son. Ordered three donuts, a black coffee, and a turkey sausage egg and cheese croissant. The food was good, but the croissant appeared to have processed American cheese on it. The coffee was a bit watered down, but freshly brewed. The atmosphere is trendy, but there are stacks of restaurant supplies in plain view. The owner's child was hanging out which made me feel my own son is welcomed. Overall I enjoyed our experience and look forward to returning. My only recommendations are to declutter the space so the atmosphere is more pleasant and provide a couple of toddler high chairs. read more

Great Doughnuts!! There was a long line but it moved pretty fast do t be discouraged if there is a line!

Stopped in on my way in to the office. There was a little line that included a toddler. The cashier was patient to enough to ask him what he wanted. (nice touch) Be prepared to wait if you are ordering food such as tacos. There seemed to be a 5 - 7 minute wait so this is not the quick grab and go stop. I wanted a dozen plain glazed and he offered to glaze some for me if I was able to wait. (nice touch) And, they were worth the wait! and warm. Being from Texas a Big Red would have made it perfect! Next time, I plan to try their tacos. A bit pricey to me at $4.50 but he said they have salsa! WooHoo! read more

This place is going to be a huge hit in Tuscaloosa. Donuts range from $1-2 and the cold brew is $3.50. We had the nutella, chocolate and strawberry sprinkle, and the cookie monster. Why do so many new restauranteurs invest everything into starting what could be a great eatery, to only turn it over to young adults who obviously do not have the same drive. Went here on a slow Monday. I've wanted to try it, and thankful I did. The donuts are very fresh and warm. They're not overly sweet, and the fruity pebbles donut is great. Some of the friendliest staff you'll meet in Tuscaloosa! The cashier up front is incredibly nice and accommodating to all which makes coming here more of a delight. The cold brew coffee is delicious and smooth and I like to add sweet cream to mine. The breakfast sandwiches are just okay, nothing special, but still satisfying. I have been waiting for this place to open ever since I saw they were coming to Tuscaloosa and I have to say they did not disappoint! Growing up down the street from a Mom and Pop donut shop, I was missing that kind of donut shop going to school here. I got the maple pecan donut and a cold brew coffee with hazelnut and sweet cream.
