I've been banking here for 25 years. As the years go by, I find the customer service has gone downhill. There are several things that bother me: 1. When I travel outside the country I cannot use my debit card. Even though I inform BAC every time I leave the country, whenever I use my card, I get a phone message from their fraud department threatening to cancel my card if I don't call them back. With a time difference, calling them back can be pretty difficult. It's a hassle I don't need. 2. Since I travel so much, my debit card is set to expire while I'm gone. I tried to get a replacement card, but they will only issue me a new card with a new number. That is not what I want. The only way to get my card replaced is to destroy it. THEN BAC will issue a card with my same number. I feel stuck here as my automatic deposits are set up and it would be a hassle to change banks. So I guess I'm going to unhappily remain a customer. read more

I have been with BAC for the past 17 years for my business banking, and until the Coronavirus crisis hit, they seemed like an ordinary bank that handled my accounts thoughtfully and with good attention to details and methods to protect against fraud. When the Payroll Protection Program was rolled out in response to the Coronavirus shutdown, I phoned the bank for advice, and that is where they really shined! I was able to speak with a bank rep who brought me up to speed on the application process. I received the on-line materials promptly and after submitting them received an acknowledgement. When the bank reviewers looked over my forms, they found a small omission and called me at my home to advise me what I needed to add. I updated my forms that morning, and the same advisor called me again to say that everything was in order and that my application had been submitted to the SBA. Because of their aggressive personal involvement in getting my application submitted quickly, I made it into the first round of funding. This bank charges you for online transfers to other banks, cashiers' checks, and transfers to people through pop money. No app for iPads, and at least the two employees I dealt with did not know their banks policies. I do not want a bank such as this one handling my money. read more
