We liked this place so much we went twice within a month! So far, we've ordered green falafel, fried chicken sliders, noa's cauliflower, glazed pork belly, brussels sprouts, malabi -- it was the cauliflower and pork belly that had me coming back that second time though! The rest was great, but the falafel was too salty and the malabi too sweet. We might have just ordered those on an "off" night or something because everything else had well-balanced flavors. It might be weird that the first thing I will talk about is the bottled water they served but that water hits different lol.. like liquid cold silk. Anyways had the pork belly and it was dressed in adobo sauce. Cooked really well and tasted terrific. Portion is small. Had the brussel sprouts and that tasted amazing. The young lady at the front, who has black hair and an Armenian look that resembles someone of Spanish descent, displayed an unprofessional attitude that significantly impacted my experience. My husband and I decided to go to the Americana last minute on a Saturday and wandered around trying to find a place to eat for about half an hour. It was almost 9 pm and I was getting pretty hangry. With the help of Yelp we decided to give Bacari a try since there was a no wait. It ended up being a great decision because we really enjoyed the food here. This is a tapas style place so you order a few dishes to share and the portions are meant to be small. We ordered the crispy polenta, the lamb stuffed eggplant, and the smoked mushroom pizza. All three items were fantastic, and quite unique. First off, the eggplant went really well with the crispy polenta. The lamb didn't taste gamey when paired with the eggplant and despite the mushroom pizza having a strong smokey flavor, it was perfect. Our waitress was really nice and friendly too. It was a spontaneous night out, which I'm still adjusting to since we are slowly coming out of a pandemic. So my date and I decided to go to the Americana mall to go eat, but it was past 9pm and other dining places were closed early. We settled on Barcari since they had outdoor seating. I was in the mood for a burger and fries. The burger is usually served open face but we both opted for a top bun. I would have preferred a softer bread, but overall it wasn't too bad. The fries are served with a sunny side up on top (you can ask to put it on the side if you don't want it on top). Absolutely loved this place. The have patio seating all along the sidewalk due to the pandemic but it gave it a real European vibe so i really enjoyed it. Take a photo of the barcode in front and the menu will automatically pop up for hands free dining. I'd describe this place as a modern twist on tapas which is my favorite cause you get to try everything at affordable prices. Everything we ordered individually was under 13$!! The plates that really stood out the most and is a must try was the Mac & Cheese, Cauliflower, Brussels Sprouts, Bacari Fries, Tuscan Kale Salad and the Bread Pudding!! Everything was amazing. The servers are ridiculously friendly (shoutout to Olivia and Noelle for being the most amazing and cool servers ever and recommending the perfect drinks) and the outside seating area is just beautiful. If you plan on going, make a reservation. It wasn't crazy busy for a Saturday night at 6:30, but it's better to be safe than sorry. If you're the kind of person who likes eating one huge plate on your own, shift your expectations. Be ready and willing to share, compromise for people at the table who are craving things and people who are unwilling to eat certain things. That's the best way to get the most out of your Bacari experience. Between me and one other person, we tore through the truffle mac n cheese, beet gnocchi, gorgonzola pasta, margherita pizza + salame, and stuffed mushroom as well as 7 odd drinks. Ask the servers to recommend drinks - I got the Royal Blood as a surprise which had a smokey taste and mesmerizing black rock salt that I loved but never would have chosen on my own. However, the bartender is apparently the one that concocted the best drink I've ever had, one so of his own design that it's not even on the menu. Mezcal, tarragon, lime, ginger, cucumber, and curaçao. Earth shatteringly delicious. Sweet but not too much so, with a hint of citrus and spice from the tajín on the rim. UGH. Chef's kiss. I had a good time at Bacari GDL. The drink/food was good, but the server (whose name escapes me) was very attentive and friendly which was the best part of the experience. He made sure me and my friend were taken care of, checking in at the appropriate times and making sure we were satisfied. As for food, we ordered a few appetizers which were all pretty good although a tad on the pricier side (nothing crazy, though).
