The theme is modern and eclectic Mediterranean and North African. We ordered the following appetizers and shared them among our group: Muhammara, Meatballs and Octopus Carpaccio. We also ordered the following main plates: Beef Shishlik, Whole Branzino and Prime Short Rib Tagine. For dessert, we ordered the Chocolate & Halva Sundae and the Tiramisu. I highly recommend Momed, it's easily a standout among LA dining spots. If you are a fan of Middle Eastern food you will love this place. To start off the interior is gorgeous and it does not feel like you're in LA. The garden vibes are beautiful. If you can sit outside I would highly recommend doing so. Drink selection is solid and all of our cocktails were just fantastic. The Bridge Bar menu is good value. It comes with an order of the dips and warm fresh pita, for the entree I chose the chicken kabob on a spread of labne and it also came with an ice cream sundae. My favorite item of the night was the crispy cauliflower followed by momo chips and the brussels sprouts. Momo chips are their version of fries served with ketchup and aioli. The brussels sprouts were smothered in olive oil and toasted almonds. The attention to detail in all of their dishes from an ingredients standpoint is definitely there. It's hard to believe how insanely pricey Momed has become. Everything is pretty much a la carte and almost 2x the price of when I last dined -- albeit 7 years ago. Gone are the days where on your birthday you get a free $25 credit, or hummus sampler with yelp check-in. Even in larger parties , their generous portions/perks fall prey to shrinkflation. I ordered the lamb/burger smash burger combo. Problem : they ran out of buns, so a pita would be a suitable replacement right ? And it was , okay. The lamb/burger was juicy, and the Mediterranean spices worked well. So this ain't your typical smash burger. But at 26$ a la carte . lol. Heck no!!!!! This goes down in the annuls of history as my most expensive smash burger, and honestly a quarter hundo for this is just share madness . My partner and I came here late at night on a last minute reservation. We couldn't get there until shortly after our reservation time. To my surprise, the restaurant was still nearly full house even when we arrived late. We ordered the lamb as recommended and it did not disappoint. The service in my opinion was even better. We went to Momed with a group of nine friends to celebrate a late birthday brunch. It had just the vibe we were looking for, with a relaxed and laid back atmosphere. The service was warm and attentive, and the covered outdoor patio had some cute hanging greenery. Dogs are also allowed on the patio. We ordered a few plates and several main dishes to share, and everything was a hit. We agreed that the standouts were the Mediterranean plate (a variety of dips, za'atar chips, and homemade sourdough pita), the pork belly benedict (a twist on a classic), and the khachapuri (wonderfully seasoned). The cocktails were alright. A few of us had the cocktail of the month (listed on the main menu, not on the cocktail menu), which was a gin-based lemon and basil creation - very light and refreshing. Some quirks about Momed are the train that runs parallel to the patio (don't be surprised if it's suddenly a bit loud!) and that there are espresso-based drinks available to order that are not on the menu. There are about ten parking spots in their lot, and plenty of street parking available as well. We've been here a few times and would continue to come back if we're in the area for their unique dishes and atmosphere! read more

The ambience at this spot is lovely! It's dim lit and cozy with an open kitchen view which to me is the perfect romantic setting! The service was good, attentive and helped getting great recommendations in. Food was lovely although the main vegetarian options were very limited for dinner. The one thing on the menu was unfortunately sold out by the time we got there but the appetizers were very filling and very rich in taste. Brought my mom here for her birthday for brunch. So close to the house, but we had never driven by and found it on yelp and so excited and happy that we did. Very contemporary design almost makes you feel like you're in the arts district in downtown Los Angeles. The vibe is totally hip modern and inviting with a very large patio area. Everyone from the moment you walk in is friendly and eager to help. We decided to start off with some appetizers. The whipped feta, avocado, hummus, a dip, platter and bread. Presentation was exceptional, and the flavors were right on point. My favorite was the feta topped off with the cherry tomatoes and a little bit of olive oil. For the mains, I went with the khachapuri and added bacon. Very traditional, middle eastern dish basically fresh dough baked with feta cheese, some sauce and an egg. Add the chop bacon for an extra savory entrée. Also had the steak kebab and eggs. Steak was cooked perfectly in the seasoned well. Can't find a single bad thing to say about anything that we had. This is definitely a great Sunday brunch spot or maybe a night out with friends. read more

I chose Momed because it was close to the Atwater Theater, and I wasn't familiar with the area. I also hadn't heard of the restaurant before, but it was conveniently located next door to the theater. To my surprise, it turned out to be an excellent find. The food was delicious, and they offered an interesting orange wine that I tried and would highly recommend. The waiter was exceptionally friendly and took the time to walk us through several options. We followed his recommendations, and they were spot on--especially the red beet appetizer and the short rib, which was generous enough to serve four people. I shared my experience with a few foodie friends, and we've already made plans and reservations to go back in a couple of weeks. read more

Overall a good experience. Food was delicious. Everything was so flavorful. I likes the mushrooms, the hummus, dessert What I didnt like: the night we went it was way too loud. Hard to talk to others across the table. The acoustics there made it feel like a crowded food court. It took so long before the waiter took our order. Even longer for the food to come out. We arrived at 7pm but didnt get our mains until closer to 9pm. We were a party of 9 and a smaller group might have been quicker. Not enough serving utensils. We had to repeatedly ask for more. I dont want to dig into the communal plates with a spoon i just licked. The mushroom plate came on a hot cast iron skillet. Someone on our table burned their hand on it. It was so dark in there he didnt see it and accidentally touched it. There should be a little more lighting when there is hot cast iron on. The table. That or some kind of guard or cover over the cast iron skillet. We wrapped a napkin around the handle to prevent future injuries. There were things that just felt poorly planned and so I cant give it 5 stars read more

It was decent but nothing I ate was amazing and something I would return to try again or bring my friends to eat. The appetizers were decent but the lamb ribs were not good. Nor was the lamb shank, it wasn't the usual fall off the bone and whatever it was served with was very acidic and not tasty at all. Also we got the chicken and realized when we took the leftovers home it was very undercooked (hoping no one gets sick). Overall, I would come here for a happy hour for a pornstar martini but don't waste your $$ on the food. Update: the owner replied and said they spoke to me on the phone. I've never spoken to anyone on the phone before or AFTER leaving that restaurant. Nor did they take the $$$ off the bill. read more

My first time going to Momed restaurant for Valentines and probably my last time. The worst experience ever . Thirst of all , I hate that servers come and go every 5 minutes and asking if you are still eating your food. Second, We ordered chicken shish and the chicken was not cooked, they brought second time but the server didn't serve it properly and didn't even say sorry. Food was terrible and lastly dessert " pavlova " didn't taste the same as I know the test real pavlova dessert , same tiramisu dessert. My friend made a reservation for us. I get it's Valentines day's and everything double priced but this much and the Menu also was Fixed menu. Very terrible, 5 pieces of chicken and beef shish. Wine glasses not clean. This place is located in a weird residential area so it's hard to just accidentally pass by this place. The exterior doesn't look promising but on the instead it's very pretty. Their valet guy though is a scammer. We pulled up waiting for a valet guy and he wasn't there so we parked in one of the parking spots and came out and we were happy to pay for the spot but the guy tried to say this car is too big it's 2 spots so $20 but their sign says $12. My friends car was a Range Rover then my friend proceeded to complain that first, he wasn't there to assist with valet and now he's trying to charge us for 2 parking spots? Then he said fine $15.. again the sign said $12. This wasn't a good experience. However, the food was spectacular. Their bread is so soft moist. Their whipped feta was delicious with the basil, we also got a green dip was so good mixed with the whipped feta. Their octopus 10/10. Their lamb kefta 10/10 so soft and moist and so much flavour. Ate a lovely meal at this very cool restaurant. The primary seating is a covered outdoor space with greenery and ambient lighting. The Whipped Feta has a rich creamy texture the tomatoes add a pop os sweetness. The pita are HUGE and delicious. The Wild Mushroom Manti was savory and light -a dumpling with a thin wrapping. The yogurt dip made a nice balanced bite. The chicken wings had an interesting flavor- could have been tastier without the lime squeeze. Update 5: Things have changed a bit, and while still good, I miss a lot of items that made it stellar. I would still call it high-performing, but clearly downgraded a star. Okay okay, the avocado humus, muhamara, burrata, Brussel sprouts were wonderful, the octopus and the jidori chicken, whereas the wild mushroom manti delicious and the tajine were a bit disappointing. And the olives, I returned. Update 4: Momed even post COVID continues to be a wonderful foodie oasis, and two guests of middle eastern background shared their positive impression. However, it is very sad that the delicious flat breads have been taken off the menu. Update 3: It is time to give Momed a 5th star. There is almost no better way than to show a friend from Boston what the L.A. culinary world has to offer than to go to Momed: not the best neighborhood, not super-chic but definitely very cool and trendy, comfortable, extremely friendly and hospitable, relaxed - and hey really superb food!!! Among many dishes tried this time, I fell in love with the lamb tagine with dates and pears. In the end, there is not much that can go wrong here - except not to have a sufficiently spacious stomach! Update 2:This is a winner and one of my all-time favorites. There is virtually nothing that could go wrong here. The food is delicious. This time, the selections included the usual and inevitable 5-Mezze, Momo Chips, and Persian Eggplant, followed by a Veggie and a Beef Tajine with pears and plums as well as couscous, and a grass-fed burger. Not to forget about the dessert which barely fit but had to happen: Basbousa and Turkish coffee and espresso. Just a feast for the palate. But also the ambiance is great - except that in the so cold California winter, it can be a bit chilly near the door. Update 1: Frequent returns have not lessened the positive impression at all. Rather the contrary: the more often I have been here, the more I like the setup with outdoor dining, great food and very nice service. Appetizers are all great, as are the salads, flatbreads, and plates... ... except the price appears to have gone up and really is a $$$ than a $$. Original review: What an unexpected jewel this was: hiding with its beautiful and very spacious interior and/or outdoor seating in midst of a rather murky neighborhood. But boy, it was worth it: delicious mezzes, fig and arugula flatbread, light hangar steak with lentils and lamb kebob with fabulous vegetables and spices, as well as the momo chips - all beautifully presented. With help from Maurianna, I brought a group of 20 to MoMed for a Holiday & Theatre get-together in their Bridge Bar. The food was delicious and it arrived right on time. Plus Haley and our Server Benjamin were both friendly, professional and so kind. They really made us all feel special. The entire staff truly did a wonderful job. We avoided going directly on Valentine's day as we like to avoid set menus and select our own dishes! Here's what we had: Drinks - Roses are red (drink of the month) and their version of an espresso martini which was absolutely divine! They bring out complimentary zaatar chips for the table which was nice. Shareable Plates - Avocado Hummus - was expecting tastier - 3/5 - Whipped Feta - so refreshing - 4.5/5 -Shish Prawns - saffron taste overpowered - 3/5 - Shish Octopus - Wow, must try - 5/5 Main Dishes - Gnocchi - pretty good nothing amazing - 4/5 - NY Steak - medium well was perfect - 5/5 - Momo Chips - amazing love the side garlic sauce - 5/5 I really wanted to try the mante thinking it would be with traditional ground beef and dough, but the mante they offer is stuffed with different types of mushroom which was an injustice for me, haha! Our waiter, Christian was helpful and attentive. Ambiance of the restaurant was very enjoyable and modern. Overall, a great experience! Interesting cuisine though overpriced and very poor front of house. We used to come here quite frequently until a maitre d' was haughty and rude to us.. We took a good long time off and then in the past month or so started going again. The menu has experienced a big jump in prices, ( true everywhere, I'm afraid) but probably the most disappointing thing is that once again, front of house was brusk and dismissive. I have a friend who had the same experience a couple of years ago, and never went again, although she works quite nearby. It's too bad that such a simple thing as being responsive to customers Is so often overlooked. I will say that I have never encountered an unpleasant waitress or bartender there. read more

Ambiance - wow! This space is beautiful! Granted there was a bridal shower in the outdoor patio filled with flowers, which made the space very pretty. Having said that, this space would be a great venue for events. Food was flavorful and fresh. We ordered brussel sprouts, sourdough pita with avocado hummus and beets and burrata, and Cleopatra salad for appetizers. I could have just eaten appetizers as my meal. It was all so good and delicious. For entrees, we ordered the Momed burger, steak and eggs, grain bowl and Khachapuri (breakfast pizza). Service was friendly and helpful. My first review in the new year, 2024! I had my first meal of 2024 here. They were open thankfully 5-9 PM for dinner on New Year's Day. The restaurant is probably like an old warehouse. The railway was just behind the restaurant, so you can hear loud noises every time a train passes by. They had a row of parking spots reserved for customers just outside the entrance. There was also a lot of free street parking. They had restrooms past the kitchen, but the restrooms were pretty dirty. One of them had a creepy doll portrait above the toilet. They had string lights and heaters on, so it was pretty inside. They also had a separate section where the bar was. I ordered the cocktail called What's Good Here. Our waitress explained (more like warned us about) the little flower thing that came with the drink. It was a like a pepper that gives you a numbing feeling. We got an extra one for $1 so my eating partner and I could both try it. It was interesting to try for the first time, but I wouldn't do it again. I didn't particularly enjoy the feeling. Avocado hummus $16 - I wanted some pita and hummus to start, but this avocado didn't quite satisfy my craving. The pita was 1000% amazing though. I highly recommend getting it. It smelled and tasted like peanuts. Cleopatra $18 - I wouldn't get this again just because the entree I got also had butter leaf lettuce. They put too much vinaigrette for my taste. It's a layered salad, so each leaf had lots of dressing. The last one had way too much. Duck $85 - this was a dinner special that was not on the menu. It was served with butter leaf lettuce, some fresh herbs, and some sauces. The duck was amazing, something I'd get again. They clearly didn't wash the lettuce because I found bugs. The waitress replaced them and that was it. It's too bad this happened. I hope it's not a regular thing for them to skip corners. Banana caramel tiramisu $16 - I only got this because the warm apple cake was not available. It did not taste like alcohol and was not overly sweet. They probably could have made it look better by adding a mint leaf. It just looked like they cut a slice and slabbed it on the plate. Oops I didn't think I was going to spend so much money, but this dinner was close to $200 for two people. read more

This place will be my favorite Mediterranean restaurant for a while. Such a lovely ambiance with romantic vibe suitable for all kinds of occasions. The bar was also cute and they decorated the countertop with tulips, which is my favorite flower. I gave this place 5 stars even before the foods came out. The foods were great and I only had a glass of wine but my party loved the cocktails. I liked how most dishes had different textures and flavors mixed together to give unique tastes. The whipped feta was AMAZING with freshly baked hot pitas. The tomatoes and the honey were so sweet and balanced out the sharpness of the feta very nicely. Please order extra pitas with it! The winter caesar salad was also amazing. It wasn't anything like an ordinary caesar salad. It had a nice crunch from the bread crumbs and pomegranate. Please order this too! Pork belly was also great with the crispy skin. Beef shish and wild mushroom manti were okay, probably not going to order next time. Don't forget to order pavlova for dessert! The only thing that really bothered us was the kitchen.
