I don't usually leave reviews, because who has time for that, but i wanted to highlight our amazing first time experience at MoMed and felt the need to shout out Tiana, our sever. Atmosphere:I went with my gusband on a weekday night, the place was not busy. The vibe/atmosphere is gorgeous! Not pretentious , yet upscale. modern, boho, and elegant in an accessible way that makes you feel welcome. The open air concept is right up my alley, especially during a warm summer night. For those complaining about the train: we're not in the suburbs! This is Los Angeles! The train was one of my favorite parts of the whole experience! It is not common to be able to dine at a Michelin restaurant tucked away in a quiet neighborhood that is so close to the heart of the city. I loved watching the train go by! Food: Wow. Bread, the sauces , the flavors. I don't think i need to say more, i was blown away. We had starters and a main and it was just right. WIne : Another 5 star experience. I was impressed with the wine selection, not something easily accomplished . I KNOW my wines, and Momed did not disappoint. Price points were very fair, too. We had a Croatian Rose and a bottle of the Assyrtiko. PLEASE keep these on your wine list! Service: Tiana was the star of the show. We invited her to sit and have a glass of our fabulous Assyrtiko, but she politely declined. We just really enjoyed having a real server that talked to us like humans, something not so common for LA. Came here with a group of friends to celebrate a special occasion and had an overall fantastic evening. Vibe & Atmosphere The space has a great modern look and stylish decor. The only slight downside is its location right next to the train tracks , when a train passes, it creates quite a bit of noise, but it didn't ruin the lively vibe of our dinner. The Food The fusion Mediterranean menu has plenty of great options, and we definitely stuffed ourselves: House-Made Pita Bread: An absolute must-order. It comes out warm, fluffy, and fresh--we loved it so much we ended up eating five orders. Paired perfectly with the dips and cherry tomato spread. Whole Dorade: A major highlight of the table. Perfectly cooked fish served in a rich, savory cherry tomato sauce. Beef Shish Kabob: Incredibly tender, well-seasoned, and packed with flavor. Grilled Octopus: Flavors and presentation were nice, though the texture was a bit tough and over-charred/grilled on our visit. Service & Final Thoughts The service was warm, attentive, and kept everything moving smoothly all night. Aside from the train noise and the slightly overdone octopus, everything else hit the spot. Momed is a restaurant hidden in residential Atwater village offering unique Mediterranean / North African cuisine in a trendy, breezy atmosphere. I have been to Momed a few times; this is my first review for the location. We came on a Sunday for brunch; our hostess sat us quickly in the surprisingly bare restaurant with several families filling the airy patio. The restaurant is remarkably open, family, and dog-friendly, with lots of space to wander. Welcoming us at the entrance was the chef's dog, Marshmallow, who sported a fluffy white coat and welcomed many pets and ear scratches. 5/5 service, Marshmallow! On seating we received a delicious appetizer gratis - a layered, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside bread with soft herbed butter and a raspberry sauce - which was delicious. Following was the Whipped Feta ($22) - a light, airy spreadable cheese elevated with sweet honey and cut by tart, blistered cherry tomatoes, served alongside home baked pita bread with a eminently fluffy interior. The curious patron can see the bread being freshly baked in a large open oven by the entrance. Following I had the Shakshuka ($25), a delectable dish of tart tomatoes and herbaceous red peppers, moderated by creamy feta and two rich, poached eggs, fresh from the oven in a cast iron skillet. As a typical carnivore who normally shies away from dishes featuring vegetables, I was surprised by how much I loved this; as a uniquely Maghrebi dish that's hard to find, I highly recommend anyone visiting Momed try the Shakshuka. My spouse got the Cleopatra salad ($23) which she is still raving about many hours later. Perfectly selected pieces of crisp butterleaf lettuce, sweet dates, creamy feta, crossed with crispy dukkah and a tarte sherry vinaigrette, all taste buds were engaged for a perfect salad. We concluded by sharing a chocolate mousse with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream ($14) which was as good as it sounds. The service was friendly and warm, with our waiter stopping by frequently to refill our waters on the blisteringly hot day, and accommodating our group's thirsty dog. Special credit should be given to Momed for maximizing the space they were working with. While situated in a flat neighborhood adjacent to light industry, complete with railroad tracks behind the restaurant, the interior is more Riad - a courtyard garden - with countless plants, lots of shade, and wicker furniture reminiscent of tropical plants and palms. Prices, above, are a little elevated but reasonable for the quality of the food provided. The Moroccan word for Paradise is "Al-Janna", which directly translates as "the Garden". By elevating the most modest parts of the garden - tomatoes, pepper, cheese, and bread - Momed offers unique, delectable food worthy of a garden paradise, and has my highest recommendation. Have been wanting to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint! We went for the happy hour at the bar, where you can get a dip, entree and dessert for $35. They also have $10 martinis and $7 beers. The bartender was one of the best bartenders I have had in a while. He made amazing drinks, was so friendly and patient it really added to the experience. Just tried the new Momed location in May! I believe their menu changes seasonally so not sure if these dishes are available year round. Started off with complimentary pita chips which were seasoned very well. The muhammara is a must because their pita bread is the BEST bread I've ever had. It was so soft and warm and fresh and tasted amazing even though the pepper paste wasn't my favorite. It was sourdough but didn't taste sour at all which I loved. Fazzoletti was really yummy and unique, I loved the sweet corn flavor but definitely rich and hard to eat a lot of. Really enjoyed the beef shishlik. Again, the bread was just so soft and fresh. Service 4 stars: Friendly, attentive, efficient and helpful staff. Food 4 stars: You can order individually or share a few small and large plates as a group. The theme is modern and eclectic Mediterranean and North African. We ordered the following appetizers and shared them among our group: Muhammara, Meatballs and Octopus Carpaccio. We also ordered the following main plates: Beef Shishlik, Whole Branzino and Prime Short Rib Tagine. For dessert, we ordered the Chocolate & Halva Sundae and the Tiramisu. Everything we had was creative, used fresh ingredients, was nicely plated, and tasted wonderful. Prices are on the higher side, as expected for an upscale restaurant. I highly recommend Momed, it's easily a standout among LA dining spots. If you are a fan of Middle Eastern food you will love this place. To start off the interior is gorgeous and it does not feel like you're in LA. The garden vibes are beautiful. If you can sit outside I would highly recommend doing so. Drink selection is solid and all of our cocktails were just fantastic. The Bridge Bar menu is good value. It comes with an order of the dips and warm fresh pita, for the entree I chose the chicken kabob on a spread of labne and it also came with an ice cream sundae. My favorite item of the night was the crispy cauliflower followed by momo chips and the brussels sprouts. Momo chips are their version of fries served with ketchup and aioli. The brussels sprouts were smothered in olive oil and toasted almonds. The attention to detail in all of their dishes from an ingredients standpoint is definitely there. This place is incredible! As a solo diner I ordered the avocado hummus and shis chicken wings, with The Pornstar Martini and You Are My Sunshine as drinks. Everything was a wonder to my tastebuds (sorry to be that guy, but it's true here). The avocado hummus comes with house made sourdough pita, which is so fabulous I asked for a second piece. The shis chicken was SO FLAVORFUL I'm already an addict and want more (alas: I'm full). The Pornstar martini was delicious and I combined it with the prosecco (that comes as a pairing) and it was delightful. They even gave me a complimentary mulled wine that I am now addicted to. It hit the spot perfectly! The atmosphere and service are exceptional. Perhaps one of the best dates I've taken myself on. Could not recommend this place more! It's hard to believe how insanely pricey Momed has become. Everything is pretty much a la carte and almost 2x the price of when I last dined -- albeit 7 years ago. Gone are the days where on your birthday you get a free $25 credit, or hummus sampler with yelp check-in. Even in larger parties , their generous portions/perks fall prey to shrinkflation. I ordered the lamb/burger smash burger combo. Problem : they ran out of buns, so a pita would be a suitable replacement right ? And it was , okay. The lamb/burger was juicy, and the Mediterranean spices worked well. So this ain't your typical smash burger. But at 26$ a la carte . lol. Heck no!!!!! This goes down in the annuls of history as my most expensive smash burger, and honestly a quarter hundo for this is just share madness . My partner and I came here late at night on a last minute reservation. We couldn't get there until shortly after our reservation time. To my surprise, the restaurant was still nearly full house even when we arrived late. We ordered the lamb as recommended and it did not disappoint. The service in my opinion was even better. We went to Momed with a group of nine friends to celebrate a late birthday brunch. It had just the vibe we were looking for, with a relaxed and laid back atmosphere. The service was warm and attentive, and the covered outdoor patio had some cute hanging greenery. Dogs are also allowed on the patio. We ordered a few plates and several main dishes to share, and everything was a hit. We agreed that the standouts were the Mediterranean plate (a variety of dips, za'atar chips, and homemade sourdough pita), the pork belly benedict (a twist on a classic), and the khachapuri (wonderfully seasoned). The cocktails were alright. A few of us had the cocktail of the month (listed on the main menu, not on the cocktail menu), which was a gin-based lemon and basil creation - very light and refreshing. Some quirks about Momed are the train that runs parallel to the patio (don't be surprised if it's suddenly a bit loud!) and that there are espresso-based drinks available to order that are not on the menu. There are about ten parking spots in their lot, and plenty of street parking available as well. We've been here a few times and would continue to come back if we're in the area for their unique dishes and atmosphere! read more

The ambience at this spot is lovely! It's dim lit and cozy with an open kitchen view which to me is the perfect romantic setting! The service was good, attentive and helped getting great recommendations in. Food was lovely although the main vegetarian options were very limited for dinner. The one thing on the menu was unfortunately sold out by the time we got there but the appetizers were very filling and very rich in taste. Brought my mom here for her birthday for brunch. So close to the house, but we had never driven by and found it on yelp and so excited and happy that we did. Very contemporary design almost makes you feel like you're in the arts district in downtown Los Angeles. The vibe is totally hip modern and inviting with a very large patio area. Everyone from the moment you walk in is friendly and eager to help. We decided to start off with some appetizers. The whipped feta, avocado, hummus, a dip, platter and bread. Presentation was exceptional, and the flavors were right on point. My favorite was the feta topped off with the cherry tomatoes and a little bit of olive oil. For the mains, I went with the khachapuri and added bacon. Very traditional, middle eastern dish basically fresh dough baked with feta cheese, some sauce and an egg. Add the chop bacon for an extra savory entrée. Also had the steak kebab and eggs. Steak was cooked perfectly in the seasoned well. Can't find a single bad thing to say about anything that we had. Hard to talk to others across the table. The acoustics there made it feel like a crowded food court. It took so long before the waiter took our order. Even longer for the food to come out. We arrived at 7pm but didnt get our mains until closer to 9pm. We were a party of 9 and a smaller group might have been quicker. Not enough serving utensils. We had to repeatedly ask for more. I dont want to dig into the communal plates with a spoon i just licked. The mushroom plate came on a hot cast iron skillet. Someone on our table burned their hand on it. It was so dark in there he didnt see it and accidentally touched it. There should be a little more lighting when there is hot cast iron on. The table. That or some kind of guard or cover over the cast iron skillet. We wrapped a napkin around the handle to prevent future injuries. There were things that just felt poorly planned and so I cant give it 5 stars read more

Ambiance is really cute and the fact that they have pornstar martinis was one of the reasons I came in the first place. Customer service was good overall. Food is the department they need to work on. It was decent but nothing I ate was amazing and something I would return to try again or bring my friends to eat. The appetizers were decent but the lamb ribs were not good. Nor was the lamb shank, it wasn't the usual fall off the bone and whatever it was served with was very acidic and not tasty at all. Also we got the chicken and realized when we took the leftovers home it was very undercooked (hoping no one gets sick). Overall, I would come here for a happy hour for a pornstar martini but don't waste your $$ on the food. Update: the owner replied and said they spoke to me on the phone. I've never spoken to anyone on the phone before or AFTER leaving that restaurant. Nor did they take the $$$ off the bill. read more
