Great service, sat outside to people watch under covered patio. Server was so nice & friendly, helpful with the menu. We have a celiac diet & they accommodated no issue! Changed the water for the pasta noodles & changed gloves to be extra cautious. GF pasta was delicious & so was the GF pizza! They use white corn maize for flour substitute for GF pizza. Only one beer, local on tap.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! I promise you, you will regret eating here. I have never in my life had a worse meal or service. We stopped here because we were starving and we stumbled upon it. For starters, the owner or manager was SLEEPING in the table next to us. I wish I had a photo. He sat at the table next to us with his head folded in his arms on the table sleeping and had an alarm set to wake him up. The food came and it was honestly terrible. The spaghetti and meatballs pictured smelled like baby puke. Yes. Baby puke. It has to be rotten. The carbonara wasn't even edible. Imagine spaghetti noodles, some melted butter and chunks of cold cut hand thrown in it. I refused to eat it. The pizza was like a frozen pizza. In Italy!?!? The bread was rock hard and stale. Imagine bread sitting out for 3 days. That's what it tasted like. I've waited 38 years of my life for real Italian cuisine and this is what I got.... So I decided to tell the waiter that we didn't like the spaghetti and meatballs and carbonara and he basically refused to believe us. We were very polite and he got very angry. He started yelling at us that we didn't tell him quick enough. I explained that he never even came to check on us once and was outside the whole time. My kids started giggling and HE YELLED AT THEM!!!!!! Honestly, after only sending back only 2 of 5 dishes, they'll lucky we even ate any of it!!!! I have the video of him yelling at my kids as well. It ended up turning into quite an argument since the man decided to yell at my kids. We got our bill and we were charged $25 in service charges!!!!! Half our bill was service charges and drinks. Absolutely absurd. And so disappointing since we only had one night in Venice and that was our meal. Service is slow, food is horrible, customer service is horrendous. Do yourself a favor and AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I am about 99.9% sure that any of the good reviews on this restaurant are from a prior owner. I'm fairly certain one of us will end up with food poisoning after this meal

Above average food yet terrible service. Perhaps we did not speak Italian, we basically had trouble communicating.

    Seafood pasta. So delicious!

If you like seafood and you like pasta, you must get the seafood pasta! It is big enough to share for 2-3 people. The mussels were good, clams were plentiful. Noodles cooked just right and the sauce was light and just the right amount if olive oil. Each bite we took was so delicious! Just about a 5 minute walk from Piazzale Roma.

Close to our hotel and recommended by the front desk. Jet-lagged and hungry while we waited for our rooms to be ready, we ate satisfying plates of pasta - carbonara, aglio olio and taggliatelle - in a relaxed atmosphere outside on a sunny day. Cappuccino was a very food finish. Not a destination, but a satisfactory stop for hungry tired travelers.

I've been kind of dreading this review.... First of all, why has this place been open 5 years and there are no reviews in English??!! We happened upon this place randomly and, after looking at the menu, decided to check it out. Man am I glad we did! The first meal I had there was one of the best I've ever had. The decor and ambiance are super cute. It's not a large place, and very popular, so I suggest making reservations. We were lucky to walk in and get a table. Alan is the server extraordinaire. He will greet you with a welcome glass of rose and is very knowledgeable about wine and the menu. They are definitely known for their fish. If you would like to see what's available, they will bring out the daily selections on a platter. Once cooked, they will de-bone the fish tableside, which is amazing and a nice touch. I won't go over each of the meals because we ate there 3 times while we were in Venice. There were some hits and misses. Hits: The caprese (13 euros) was the best I'd ever had. The "Chef's Fantasy" tortelloni was amazing. My friend always loved her fish dishes, but the highlight was her side order of mussels, clams and stuff. It was 9 euros and HUGE. Covered in garlic butter and super yummy. Misses: I wasn't impressed with the spaghetti carbonara I had. It just wasn't that great. The last meal I had there was a filet with a whiskey cream sauce. I hate to say it, but it was HORRIBLE. The steak was very undercooked. I like my meat medium rare, but this was nowhere near that. And the whiskey cream sauce was way too strong. I am a meat and potatoes kind of girl, but I just couldn't eat this. All of the desserts we had were fantastic. Also, Alan will always offer and bring you an after dinner digestive, complimentary. You can tell how much he loves making people happy and he is great at his job. With some of misses, this could easily be a 3 star review, but it's really a great restaurant. It's off the canal, so it's not a touristy place. If you are in Venice, I would definitely suggest giving Al Bacco a try!

I would say this is the best pizza and pasta that we've ever had in Venice and arguably in our entire vacation. Location is not really close to the touristy part of Venice and maybe because there's not a lot of review in Yelp but it's worth checking out. Also, I must say it's best bang for buck for the amount and quality of the food that we had. And I really wanna highlight the QUALITY, it's legit..

Pretty good place to have dinner or lunch. Cute little shop the owner is very bubbly and greets you right in the door. Prices are not that expensive as other places. Pretty good value based on food portions. The food itslef is ok. Not the best I've had not the worst.

A nice spacious restaurant serving mainly the usual Italian dishes such a variety of pizzas and pastas . Food was above par although on the pricey side. It seems to be very popular for tourists shown by their walls which is decorated with comments left by tourist and locals who dined here. I suppose you ask for a yellow piece of paper and add your comments to the wall. We didn't do this or was offered to though. Around 1pm it was quite quiet though. Staff were efficient although wasn't very attentive and seemed quite absent. But it didn't bother us. We were left with a basket of bread sticks and crackers to munch on and olive oil and vinegar to dip them in. Sardines in saor This was cooked in the traditional way and a great appetising start. Freshly grilled sardines, flakey and tender topped with onions pickled using white wine vinegar, sugar and salt with added pine nuts and raisins for a nice contrast of flavour and texture. It was all seasoned beautifully and the ingredients tasted fresh. Pizza bacco al felice We were attracted to the interesting and unusual topping and so were keen to try it especially being name after their restaurant. It was a fine pizza bianca topped with potatoes, mushrooms and frankfurters. Cheese was generous and stretchy and the base was nice, pliable and thin in the centre. All the toppings were fresh too. Not bad. Tagliatelle porcini This was nice and simple. The pasta was unusually thin which was a nice change and cooked al dente with olive oil and a lovely portion of fresh slippery mushrooms. It was lacking some depth and complexity but sometimes I do enjoy the simplicity of dishes too. Grilled vegetables Very mediocre and had a lot better variations among our Italy trip. Lacking depth and variety, mainly tomatoes, peppers and olives. There was a bit too much of olive oil but it was still nice, soft and seasoned well. Al Bacco Felice wasn't a bad restaurant to end our Venice trip. It was near enough to head to S.Chiara to take the no.5 bus to VCE airport. Food was a lot better than some of the restaurants we went to in Venice and much more relaxing too. From all the other reviews from fellow diners, it does seem like a reliable choice.

Great Restaurant! Awesome staff, food, and atmosphere. The chef specially made chicken alfredo fettuccine for my girlfriend and I had the Daniel pizza which was great (probably a little biased, but it was definitely delicious)! Reasonably priced wine and we topped it off with some house made tiramisu (big helping)! A must stop when in Venice.

Best pasta we had all trip

Our first Restaurant when we arrived in Venice and it was definitely the best (I'm writing this post trip). The flavors were robust and had just the right amount of kick in the pasta! The atmosphere is great and we enjoyed reading and looking at all the letters and drawings from people all around the world! We wish we went back.

What better way to spend it than wandering around Venice and enjoying dinner at Rossopomodoro? They're still in the "Italy training program" and these menus tend to confuse them, so after three weeks here I felt obligated to guide them toward the promised land. After much studying, debating, and staring at menus, it was finally time to order. I went with the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, and the wife and I shared a salad. When that salad hit the table, it nearly stole the entire show. We drizzled on a little balsamic vinaigrette, added a shake of salt and pepper, and suddenly we were ready to dance right there in the alley. Fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, crisp greens--every ingredient tasted like it had been picked that morning. It was outstanding. The pasta was very good, but today the salad was the undisputed champion of the meal. Of course, dining outside along Venice's busy walkways only adds to the experience. Watching people pass by while enjoying great food is one of those simple pleasures that makes Venice such a special place. Rossopomodoro delivered a fantastic meal and a great evening. The newcomers survived their first full day in Italy, and I'd say they're off to a pretty good start.
