    Seafood pizza
    Carlos S.

This is a place where the locals eat. It's a very small place but the service, value, and food are phenomenal. It's rare to find a quiet place, out of the touristy path where you can get honest food for a great price. We ordered the wood fired pizza and weren't disappointed. We got the N'duja and pepperoni (*** warning, the N'duja is spicy hot***) and the seafood pizza (outstanding). Highly recommend, especially in the evening.

The atmosphere is very quaint. Small place very relaxed. The service was stellar. We were greeted at the door by a couple gentlemen. They got us to a table quickly and treated with great respect and gave plenty of help with the mostly Italian menu. The food was excellent. We started with a Caesar Salad with chicken. It was very fresh and tasty with thinly sliced chicken. Then, I got lasagna and my wife got an altered version of their pasta and mushrooms. They were very amenable to the changes she made, adding some suggestions of their own, with which she, and they figured out what would be great. The lasagna melted in my mouth and it was so rich and flavorful. Lots of cheese, sauce and pasta noodles. It was amazing! My wife was very happy with what she ended up getting and said that she loved it. They also provided some bread and breadsticks on the table to be enjoyed throughout the meal. Price was not bad for the quality of food that we got.

    Carbonara

The service and ambience are lovely.. . I ordered the carbonara and it tasted like nothing . The food looks delicious and maybe I ordered the wrong thing (?) but it's a nice place to stop for lunch near a cabal in a quieter part of town .

I fell in LOVE with this spot! We came in for dinner on a Friday night and were immediately greeted by the super friendly staff. Our waiter let us know what the specials were and offered recommendations based on our tastes. From ambience to service to food, this place is a MUST if you're in Venice! It's also far enough from tourist spots to really enjoy your company. What we ordered: - half carafe of white wine. It was incredibly smooth and honestly, if I could buy like 4 bottles and take them back home with me, I totally would. - Antipasti: we went with the meat & cheese plate and that was definitely the right choice! There was a nice selection of soft vs hard cheese to satisfy any palate. - entree: I had the clam pasta and my gf got the butterfly shrimp that was recommended by our waiter. My pasta was delicious and the clams were very fresh. Though my gf was expecting fried butterfly shrimp (with her Mexican American self) it was a cooked shrimp that was nicely seasoned. Nonetheless, she actually loved the shrimp and ate them all! - dessert: the tiramisu is a MUST. I have to say, this tiramisu has me damn near licking the plate. If you don't try it, you're a damn fool and that's on 100. Total: $67 euros. Mind you, this included the bread they serve at the table, an appetizer, 2 entrees, dessert, and wine. Overall, great price, great people, great experience.

    Linguine allo scoglio (seafood)

I was exploring the area and few places had such good reviews. I went in early and an alone traveller but immediately was made to feel so welcome. I had a delicious caprese and and even more delicious linguine allo scoglio (seafood). It was soooo delicious!!! I apologize I didn't get the servers name, he was delightful! Looked after me so well. I was so happy sitting there for a couple of hours. Thank you for making my trip incredibly memorable!

    Seafood Risotto

If you're looking for a place where the locals go to eat... this is the spot! The combination of the view on the Rio Marin canal, rustic brick walls and wooden furnishings make the atmosphere here at Ai Garzoti warm, authentic and homely. The amount of times you eat at a restaurant is surely a good indication of how amazing the food was and we ended up dining here 3 times during our stay in Venice. The seafood I had here is easily the best I've ever had. The mixed seafood platter was incredible. It was a beautiful bounty of delicious food from the sea! The assortment of offerings gave you an unforgettable experience- lots of different flavors, textures, and various cooking methods.. There were scallops in a buttery, garlic, herby sauce, fresh octopus salad, sardines on top of fried polenta, grilled clams, and a heaping portion of mussels. The fish soup had a delicious tomato broth with lots of mussels, clams, fish and prawns. The seafood risotto had lots of mussels and clams and the soft, creamy mound of arborio rice was properly cooked with butter, white wine, Parmesan cheese, and fresh parsley. Risotto is typically viewed as a simple dish, but this one was luxuriously glamorous. Don't fall pity to the tourist traps around Venice and come to this restaurant that is favored by the locals! Until next time Ai Garzoti!

    Spritz

We came here on our first night in Venice with our aunt and decided to order too much :) While I have been to Venice before, I've never gotten the Aperol Spritz which has prosecco, orange, and is a little bitter served with a green olive. It's not bad, but it's not my favorite. We also got the seafood pasta x 2, a duck ragu pasta, a margherita pizza, an appetizer plate with cheese, meats and fluffy bread, a mushroom pasta, and a tiramisu for dessert. The seafood pasta was pretty good, my aunt and the husband loved the pizza (it was fine for me), I LOVED those little pillowy breads and the meats were good - the cheese was a great texture. I did NOT like the duck ragu pasta and it actually almost made me sick - the smell. I barely touched it and don't like to waste food, but couldn't get it down and didn't have the heart to say it was terrible... The waiter was great and funny. I asked for an extra olive and he brought me a bowl lol We also got the house red wine and prosecco which were both good. Overall a very nice meal and I would go back. They also had free wifi and a standing station if you just wanted to have drinks.

    Bellini and Wine

My husband ordered pizza from this location and said it was good and wanted to go back for a sit down dinner. On our last night in Venice, we went. We had a little bit of a wait but it was worth it! It's such a cute and cozy restaurant right on a canal. We ordered seafood pasta, lasagne of the day, two glasses of Bellini, 3 glasses of wine, and a tiramisu. The is a 2 € pp cover charge (which is common in Venice). The food came out fairly quickly and service was attentive. The food was delicious.. I love my lasagne and my husband said his pasta was the best out of the three places he tried in Venice. We both fought over the creamy tiramisu at the end.. we were both left satisfied and full of delicious Venetian food! We both highly recommend this place for dinner!

Ham pizza with their signature salad

We googled this place and read reviews ! Wandered over here using Google maps ! Hardly no one there , three little tables outside by very small canal area , waiter friendly food fast , but after that everything was so slow , slow to get bill , slow to pick up bill ! Pizza thin and fair in flavor , salad , fair ... would not go wandering g for it !

Great Italian food, tasty, great service , families friendly. Near the canal. The meat is delicious. The vegetables are fresh, pasta is great . Food arrive fast, weightier keeps the table clean and in order during the meal

Risotto... takes 20minutes to prepare! Well worth the wait.

Please note there is a 2 euro service charge (per person) at this restaurant. Otherwise, the food here is really good. We came here about an hour into dinner service. There were tons of tables that we already reserved, but we were lucky to get a table during the slow dinner hour. We ordered the mushroom risotto, 4 style pizza, and mussel with pasta. The risotto is delicious. Very creamy and has wine flavor through the dish. Please note that it takes 20minutes to prepare this dish. You know that make this to order rather than mass produce this product. Worth the 20 minutes... trust me! Very delicious! The 4style pizza had pepperoni, artichoke, ham and mushrooms. How they prepare it is by placing each individual topping on 2 slices which added up to 8 slices total. The pizza was prepared well with thin dough. The crust was not too heavy. The tomato sauce was just right. Maybe will request extra sauce next time. The mushrooms with spaghetti was decent. I was surprised that it didn't have much juices / sauce with the dish. The noodles felt like they may have some cheese on it. The mussels were marinated with wine which is a very good touch to the dish. Very generous portion of mussels. Overall, I definitely will come back to this place. However, seats are very limited. I think there was about 10-12 tables here, but they get filled up fast especially from large parties. I recommend you try at least 1 pasta dish and 1 pizza. Cheers!!

4 cheeses. Had better pizza in most of the other places jn Italy

What better way to spend it than wandering around Venice and enjoying dinner at Rossopomodoro? They're still in the "Italy training program" and these menus tend to confuse them, so after three weeks here I felt obligated to guide them toward the promised land. After much studying, debating, and staring at menus, it was finally time to order. I went with the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, and the wife and I shared a salad. When that salad hit the table, it nearly stole the entire show. We drizzled on a little balsamic vinaigrette, added a shake of salt and pepper, and suddenly we were ready to dance right there in the alley. Fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, crisp greens--every ingredient tasted like it had been picked that morning. It was outstanding. The pasta was very good, but today the salad was the undisputed champion of the meal. Of course, dining outside along Venice's busy walkways only adds to the experience. Watching people pass by while enjoying great food is one of those simple pleasures that makes Venice such a special place. Rossopomodoro delivered a fantastic meal and a great evening. The newcomers survived their first full day in Italy, and I'd say they're off to a pretty good start.
