    Pasta Cacio e Pepe

I had heard great things about this place, so I was excited to try it--but unfortunately, it was a letdown. The pasta was under-seasoned, and the sauce was runny rather than creamy. The dough on the margherita pizza also had an oddly sweet flavor that didn't work and ended up throwing off the overall taste. The service was quick, which I appreciated, but the food itself missed the mark. It was disappointing enough that I couldn't finish my meal.

Ross grew up in a large Italian family in Chicago and wanted to bring the classic "old-school" Italian flavors he grew up with to Utah after finding they were hard to come by when he moved here. The restaurant is located in Taylorsville, about 10-15 minutes southwest of downtown Salt Lake City, making it an easy stop whether you're staying in the city or exploring the surrounding area. Always great to spend time with family, and this was the perfect place to do it! We had a fantastic dinner. The calamari was crispy, tender, and delicious. The gnocchi was flavorful and comforting, and my steak was cooked perfectly medium-rare. The restaurant is much larger than it looks from the outside, with a spacious banquet area in the back that's perfect for private parties and family celebrations. Even though it was a busy weeknight, the service was friendly, attentive, and efficient. There's plenty of parking, and they can easily accommodate both small groups and large family gatherings. Cheers--I look forward to coming back!

Price was great for the quality of food. At the end of the meal they sent out an amazing cheesecake to share. Will be back, and will recommend to as many as possible. I was welcomed and taken directly to the bar (as I requested) and offered water choices. I felt very well served! I met Jack at the bar and he and the other people working there were so good about checking on my drinks, dinner, ect. GET THE BREAD! Wow, the focaccia and other breads in the basket were great, but they add in a garlic butter!!! WOOWOO. Decided on a Hugo Spritz and a Rose Spritz, so two great drinks with dinner. I also ordered the meatball appetizer and the Aglio E Olio pasta. I really loved the Aglio. I thought the meatballs were good, but not my favorite. That being said, I came back the second night for dinner again and they have been spot on with everything (minus the meatballs not being my favorite). The next night I tried the Brasato and those short ribs did fall off! I also had a glass of an extremely expensive wine, so it was nice to be able to try something and that they even have that option! PROS: Wonderful spot on the corner of downtown, near hotels Great Employees, including the singing.....yes I received a song Great food, choices are good and they have options for everyone WINE Choices are out of this world. I was able to get a glass of an expensive bottle!!! MIRSAD- singing Italian- NICE CONS: Assuming parking, did not see any, but I walked

We easily made reservations and found street parking about a block away. We started with some delicious cocktails--the Lady Pleaser and Paper Plane--which were both delicious. We had the bread with whipped cheese and hot honey along with the grilled caesar salad and crudo for appetizers. They were all beautifully presented and delicious but the caesar blew us away and was one of our favorite bites of the night. We got a few more cocktails to enjoy with dinner--the Mezzin' Around and a gin, mint, and lime drink I forgot the name of. We enjoyed both of these as well. For entrees, I got the carbonara and my husband got the squid ink pasta with lobster. I've never seen more beautifully presented pasta dishes in my life. The flavor matched the beauty too--and the portions were good enough to take half home. My husband was incredibly happy with all the lobster in his pasta. We took a raspberry tiramisu home, which was also delicious. The bill came to $208 before tip, which matched the quality of the food and restaurant experience. I'm excited to come back and try other things as I believe the menu changes regularly.

Nothing flashy, just a comfortable space that lets the food do the talking, and the food has plenty to say. We ordered the pistachio pesto campanelle, and it was outstanding. Rich pesto sauce, artichokes, and sun dried tomatoes coming together in a way that felt both rustic and deliberate. We also had the Caprese Bucatini, a spaghetti style pasta served with a small ball of fresh mozzarella in the center surrounded by marinara. Do not skip the garlic focaccia either. It is grilled, which adds a smoky depth you do not expect from a bread course. It was exceptional. The tiramisu trifle was the one miss for us. It needed more moisture to really land. Skip it and spend that room on more pasta. A note on the experience: there was one server covering the entire floor and what appeared to be one person in the kitchen. The restaurant was not busy, but we still waited longer than the situation seemed to call for. It did not ruin the meal, but it is worth knowing. The bathroom also needed attention. We spent $85 for two with non-alcoholic drinks, which felt fair for the quality and the neighborhood. They apparently do brunch, and I am already planning a return visit for that. This place deserves more attention than it seems to be getting.

We noticed it when we drove in late Friday afternoon and made reservations same day for their patio. We got some free street parking and when we arrived we were greater and promptly seated. While it was a hot July day the winds were so strong it kept us cool out there. The patio was a really nice setup and you didn't feel like the street was only feet away. We ordered the polenta with spice sausage, it was HUGE and can be shared with 4 people. 2 of us could not finish it. Additionally for dinner we got the gnocchi which was quite tasty and the steak special which was similar to a skirt steak. The steak was good, my only thing was that I didn't enjoy the seasoning on the potatoes (but those were my tastebuds and yours might like them)! The food was absolutely heavenly from start to finish, and I'm still dreaming about it. I even packed up my dessert to enjoy later, and Ben thoughtfully included instructions on the container for the best way to enjoy it. It's those little details that make such a lasting impression. Our server, Ben, was truly exceptional. He took the time to explain every special in detail, made us feel like we were longtime friends, and struck the perfect balance of being attentive without ever hovering. We were dining with our toddler, and he brought over crackers just in case our little one wanted a snack. That level of thoughtfulness speaks volumes. The restaurant had technically closed, but Ben never once made us feel rushed. Instead, he let us relax, enjoy the beautiful patio, and savor every moment of our meal. Genuine hospitality like that is so rare. Everything about our experience was outstanding, from the incredible service to the unforgettable food. If we ever find ourselves back in Salt Lake City, Caffé Molise will be our first stop without hesitation. Thank you, Ben, and the entire Caffé Molise team, for making our visit so special!
