I really enjoy Spedelli's when I want pizza of a higher quality than the big chains. I usually get fairly basic pizzas (sausage only, pepperoni only etc) and their cheese and meats are great! I also REALLY like their garlic knot appetizer. It has the right amount of garlic, which is a LOT). When I open the box (when I get it to go) you can smell it from 50 ft away. The garlic is freshly grated and the oil isn't drizzled on top but doused (which I also love; seriously there is so much oil that in the to go container it sloshed around but thankfully doesn't leak through). The vibe is also very laid back. This can be a pro or a con depending on how busy it is. If they are busy and you are looking for a fast meal and multiple refills of your soda you aren't likely to be happy. If you are looking for a place to spend and hour or more hanging out with friends drinking a couple of beers and eating good pizza you will love this place. I've been to Spedellis in both circumstances multiple times and it's way more enjoyable when having the time to sit and enjoy it. The reason for 1 less star than max is the slowish service when fast would be nice and also their chicken wings appetizer. As much love as I give to the garlic knots...the chicken wings I do not recommend. They are small, you don't get many, and they are drastically overpriced. The ambience used to be cool but now it's just like walking into a pizza oven to get a pizza. So hot. So sweaty. No air conditioner. It's 95 degrees outside and it's about 90 degrees inside. We went for lunch and got slices of pizza with a soda. It was just a quick stop. There is outdoor seating so in the warmer weather you can bring your dog. I think I'd like to try it again on another day as ours it was pretty empty, only one person working there, and seemed to be pretty lackluster. Unfortunately I was very dissatisfied with this restaurant. Our food was incredibly greasy, like dripping. Neither my husband nor I ate much of our food, even though we were hungry. We tried the BBQ Bacon cheeseburger and the Buffalo chicken sandwich. I'll say the one thing my husband liked were the Spicy Agave Wings. If you are there, give those a try. Stopped in today for my first time, definitely won't be my last visit either! My date has been here many times before. He has spoke highly of this space when we've driven by before. The atmosphere is very laid back, music wasn't too loud, so you could have a conversation comfortably. I chose The BBQ Chicken Salad. Ohmyheck it was Amazing! There was a great array of fresh vegetable's green peppers, button mushrooms, thinly sliced red onions, with a sweet corn salsa finished with cotija cheese and the best fried chicken I've had in a while. The BBQ sauce is made in house and it had a complex flavor that I imagine pairs so well with anything on their menu. The owner was working and his service was quick and kind with a great attitude and he was attentive. The fish taco's were also awesome! The portions were just right. They have a great selection on their beer and spirits menu as well. I had A peach hefeweizen that paired well with my chicken salad and the Bloody Mary had a balanced flavor profile. This restaurant feels like you are hanging out with your snowboarding friends watching a game on ESPN. Not usually my thing, but what is my thing are their fish tacos! I dare you to find a better fish taco (I've tried). The fish is breaded, crisp and flavorful. The tortillas are warm and soft. The fresh toppings perfectly compliment the overall dish. And the sauce on top is addicting. Perfection! Nothing could be added or subtracted to improve these tacos. I haven't tried anything else on the menu because I can't not get the tacos. My boyfriend and I got the tacos to go and they were BOMB! I would highly recommend the fish tacos they had such a great crunch and were filling. The corn added a great touch as well. I liked the fish over the chicken but just my preference! The atmosphere at Spedelli's was super welcoming and great atmosphere. We ordered Three Carne Asada Gringo Tacos, Three Fish Tacos, Poutine, Fried Zucchini Appetizer, Teriyaki Burger, and a Castaway Cocktail.   When the food came out we were pleasantly surprised that there was enough to feed three people. Very generous size. I had no idea what poutine was, I didn't really care for it.  I liked the French Fries, but not the sauce and/or cheese on top.  Plus it was WAAAY to salty. The Castaway cocktail was refreshing, and was not watered down. So much flavor, and I loved the salt around the rim for an added zing. Next came the Fried Zucchini Appetizer.  I did not like these.  The zucchini strips were very tiny, thin, and covered in a greasy batter.  Way to much batter, and not enough zucchini. Did I say greasy? I would suggest skipping these. Now for the main course.  Both the Fish, and Carne Asada Tacos' were really fresh, and flavorful.  Three tacos is enough to fill you up for sure.  The Teriyaki Burger was really tangy, and flavorful with pineapple, lettuce, tomato, onion, and swiss cheese with a tangy teriyaki sauce.  The bun  was not big enough for the burger, with all the fixins' plus it was falling apart when you picked it up.  The potato chips that are served with it are a child size, not enough chips in my opinion.  I will opt to pay the extra for French Fries next time I get a burger here. We didn't get a dessert only because we were stuffed.  Good food, Good Company, and Good Service you can't beat that! read more

The only reason I came here was because I saw another Yelper's post about their homemade tater tots, and I knew I needed some of those in my life. We called ahead to place the order, and they said it would take about 20 minutes. We arrived right at 20 minutes, and it and ended up closer to 30, but no biggie, just an FYI. It was a Sunday, and though lunch time, not terribly busy. The vibe is kind of dive bar-y, but not exactly. It also looks like the place at which you'd hang out as a teen in a booth with all your friends after school (especially if you're a skatr boi or grrl!), but also they definitely serve plenty of alcohol. I think it would make a happenin' post-ski or snowboard stop. They even have an arcade game or two in the front lobby. Once we got our order, we hopped in the car and dug into the tater tots immediately, 'cause you know they are going to be best fresh. We each ate one, dipping them in the accompanying ranch. They were crispy on the outside, but so tender on the interior as to near falling apart. I turned to my husband and said, "top notch tots, what do you think?" And he responded, "no, they are TOT notch!" And then we laughed and laughed because I have the sense of humor of a 6 year old. Or a dad. At home, I stuck everything under the broiler as, though the fries have that burnished look making one think they will be crisp, alas, they were nothing but sad limpness. Even fresh from the restaurant. Sadly, after 20 minutes the tots weren't as tasty, and though improved upon reheating, once home we both felt they lacked some seasoning. Salt is easily added, but a smidge of garlic or something would be even better. My husband had the Philly Cheesesteak, and I did not try it, but it looked good, and I did enjoy a couple potato chips from the generous side of them that is included. Their menu offerings are heavy on the pizza, so perhaps we were remiss in not giving one a try. Other choices include a variety of burgers, tacos, sandwiches, salads, and all the fried sides (including poutine!). Prices average about $10 per entrée, near $20 for pizza. The employee who assisted us was friendly, and it was clean inside. They have a bit of seating out on their covered porch, though it's too cold for that right now. I came in to partake of Spedelli's offerings as part of an Elite Yelp event, and my husband tagged along with me. I love fish tacos and I was really excited to try these ones. They were beautifully constructed and held together really well. The fish was breaded well and was nice and crunchy; however, they were disappointingly bland. Nothing hit my tongue with even the faintest hint of excitement. The saving grace for this was the Stache Sawce. It gave the tacos just the acidic zing that they needed to be more enjoyable. My husband ordered the Holy Guacamole Burger with a Beyond Burger patty and the onion rings. He really enjoyed it, although I thought the presentation of the burger was a little lackluster. It was also pretty small - about the same size as the circumference of an onion ring. The onion rings were also cooked very well with a good measure of crispiness to onion. There was a bit of a bitter aftertaste to them, but we found them overall enjoyable. Service was a little slow to start but picked up nicely. Very very friendly staff. We have lived nearby Spedelli's for many years but had never been. Boy were we missing out! The pizza was awesome and I loved their giant goblets of beer. My only criticism is that the salad was so-so, I would have preferred something different than a spring mix. But the ranch was bomb and the service was fast and friendly. I visited Spedelli's in the late afternoon on a weekday and enjoyed a nice meal after work. The place was clean and the noise level was on the quieter side, which was a nice surprise for a venue with a bar. The street tacos here are delicious and messy. I love the flavor and texture Spedelli's corn salsa adds to the meat, and the sour cream brings all of the taco elements together nicely. I thought the pizza was fair; it's very greasy. What a great place! The guy working was very welcome. We had attentive service. I was happy that they have shaded outdoor seating. My friend and I got a July Pie which has garlic sauce, piles of bacon, arugula, balsamic glaze, and peaches! The crust was so good! Crispy without being crunchy. Easy to chew. Came in on a Monday with another Elite Yelper. The first thing that jumped out at me was the fun and easy-going atmosphere of the interior. It was clean and the smell of delicious food met us instantly. Jake greeted us quickly and was very attentive. He seemed to be the only person on the floor and also working the bar, which makes sense since it seems that Mondays are pretty slow. I ordered the Moscow Mule with extra lime. It was good. I don't like my Mules too spicy so it worked great for me. The Margaritas are made with a sweet/sour mix, so I shyed away from that. A lot of people like the mixes, but I'm not a fan. Like most places, they were out of wings. They are not special in this regard, but people should know that for now there aren't wings and that is due to the supply shortage of wings overall and not due to anything on their part. We ordered the Poutine to share as an appetizer and it was really good. It is pretty peppery, so if you're not a fan of pepper, this might not be the dish for you, but since I do like pepper, it was perfect for me. My dining companion ordered the Teriyaki burger with potato chips, and I ordered a large supreme pizza for future lunches and to let my dining companion try it. I asked for the pepperoni to be on top so that it would crisp up. The pizza is a thinner crust pizza and it is very good. The crust is lightly crisp on the outside and chewy inside. The flavors are all very good and well rounded. I would definitely order this pizza again. It isn't often that I go for the crust before the other part of the pizza. We got the fried ice cream and it was really good. The ice cream inside was harder than I expected, so that it didn't melt all over the place right away. Overall, it was a really good experience and definitely worth the trip across the city. I highly suggest people check this place out for a casual and tasty dining experience. I definitely want to come back here again. The only thing that makes me sad about this place is that they are so far from where I live! read more

When I walked inside I realized it's one of those places that has everything - pizza, tacos, wings, fries, etc. It was a very quiet atmosphere, not too many people there and it was early afternoon. Plenty of seating. I think it'd be a nice place to come refresh yourself with a drink and food after a ski day or something. Went out in search of a hearty burger today, and boy did I ever find one at Spedelli's! Their western bacon burger is a hearty meal--as soon as I picked it up I was surprised at the sheer weight of it! Loved the juicy, flavorful patty, which was topped with bacon and an onion ring and dripping in BBQ sauce. The only improvement I would suggest is to add a couple more onion rings, but otherwise I think I just might have found a new neighborhood go to burger joint! My wife ordered the tacos, and they were HUGE! The tater tots had a great, but not overpowering spice to them, and the garlic knots were excellent! Came here awhile back for an Elite event and enjoyed it so much we have been back a few times. The food is great. We love the poutine and the tacos especially but the pizza is nice too. Cocktails are great. Only complaint is that the last couple of visits, the service has been very slow. And it's not because they're understaffed like so many places are, they just seem more interested in the bar part than the food tables. We came here for a quick pizza and salad. Spedelli's has a chill bar vibe, neither super clean nor particularly dirty, just very casual feeling. We got a salad which was at least 1/3 grated mozzarella. Definitely tasty, sort of what you expect when you get a salad at a bar. We also got one of their vegetarian pizzas, which was quite good! The crust was bland, but I've yet to find a restaurant that gets close to homemade crust. They were out of peppers, but we're happy to do a nice substitution for us when they realized the problem. For a Thursday-- this place was packed! You grab your own seat and we spotted people leaving one of the 3 tables outside when we arrived so we snagged it. One guy told me he would clear it for us and followed us to it... grabbed half the stuff , then never came back! We sat there a bit before another server came out and handed us menus, asked us if we were there for Yelp and apologized apologized for being short staffed. He also cleared the rest of the stuff off the table and wiped it down. He said it would be a wait... we were fine with it, it was a nice night to be outside and we chatted and caught up while we waited for our drinks and food. And they were not kidding cuz it was a wait! After drinks, we didn't get or see a server a long time! Btw... $5 Margaritas and Moscow Mules on Thursdays! What we ate: Appetizer: fried zucchini -- plentiful and crisp and standard fried zucchini, pretty decent, get a lot for the price ($7) the Taco Trio: one of each (chicken, pulled pork, carne asada) -- this was actually what I liked best about our dinner! The carne asada tho was our least fave, a lil dry, no flavor. I was surprised the tacos were a good size too! Could have used some salsa tho. Just had pico. The Kotsenburger: this burger looked puny in size for $12. Altho the burger itself was surprisingly flavorful...It was a disappointment in size and the amount of very common Lays Potato Chips that came with it. We had to add $3 just to get fries/ rings/ tots. Which we didn't do and when we saw the burger size ... it was a definitely overpriced. The inside had a small bar, some long tables in the middle, some booths on the sides. A small video game room off to the side. Some art on the wall of that room. Standard big screen TV's playing hanging in main dining area. It could have been cleaner but I'm sure it was due to not enuf staffing. Everyone seemed nice enuf. This is a nice little place. But if you're not looking for it you probably would miss it. It's tucked away in a little strip mall. I've actually driven past it many many times and never noticed it. That being said, once I found it I was happy I did. The menu is amazing! There is a lot of different options on it. I actually want to come back several more times just so I can try everything. My friend and I did try several things because we couldn't decide so we shared a bunch of different items. My friend ordered a large beer. We had to laugh at the glass it was served in. It is ginormous! For food we started with the fried zucchini bites. Which were pretty good. Maybe a little bit too much breading on them, but still really yummy. Next we ordered some nachos with pork. That one was not a hit with us. The pork was really dry and not the best flavor. The olives, well there was way too many of them, and they tasted like dirt. They did not taste good. They overpowered everything else. And there was hardly any cheese on these nachos. Which was surprising considering they were nachos. The guacamole that was on top was delightful though. We then shared a small pizza and that was really really good. I have been here one time before and tried the poutine, which was OK. Not my favorite gravy. And that's what makes the poutine. But it was still OK. I also tried the garlic bites on a previous time and they were not my favorite either.
