There is nothing wrong with this place. There is also nothing special about this place. This is basically the kind of mexican food you could have found in Utah in 1982. If anyone is curious about their new name, the menu, the flavors, the presentation has not changed much at all from what it was when this place was called La Luna. There are a number of Mexican places in the valley that have a similar origin, from the family that started La Frontera. La Fountain, La Puente, La Luna. You can always tell they are a La Frontera spin off because they serve a smothered chile verde burrito with a reddish-brown sauce and you can add cheese, onion, onion and cheese. Then there will be a squeeze bottle of fairly mild red sauce. If that's what you're looking at in the Salt Lake Valley then you are in a successor of the La Frontera franchise. read more

This used to be a different Mexican restaurant but they have changed. We ordered the chicken chimichanga smothered. It was really good. Had to order Ala cart but the portions were large. I always review the chips and salsa at Mexican places. The chips were great, lite and crispy. But the salsa was just spicy with little flavor. If they put a little pico in it they would have a winner. We had the smothered with chili Verda and cheese which was great. The chimichanga was all chicken without all the beens and rice a lot of places do. Give it a try you won't be disappointed. read more

This place is AMAZING! And now that they're serving alcohol again it's even better! Their food is amazing, we barely wait they are so efficient and quick to grab our chips and homemade salsa and return to grab our orders. They haven't messed up our orders and we have been a dozen times now! New management/owners are great! The best ground beef tacos around and my boyfriend gets the smothered burrito and loves it! Let's say we never have left overs! Hey board of health! This restaurant is very filthy and I believe the kitchen is the same situation as the bathroom. The Men's bathroom was beyond Truck stop filthy. Have you ever been to a bathroom that was so gross it made you gag? The toilet was clogged with feces and non operational, the urinal stunk so bad it made me gag. The floors haven't been cleaned in weeks along with the sink and no paper towels. If I visited the bathroom before I ordered my meal I would have just got up and left. Can you imagine what the kitchen is like? A general rule of thumb is if their bathrooms are clean, then it's safe to eat there. This is my second time dining. The food is good, not excellent. In my first experience, I ordered a single Burrito, and my bill was about $4.00 dollars more than what was posted on the menu. I didn't think much of it because I was new to the place and with my co workers. Now, tonight, I ordered 2 burritos with rice & beans for $13.50, and they charged me $15.99. I told the waiter this was incorrect, and they yelled at me and said that's what I ordered. I grabbed the menu and pointed out what I ordered and I was insulted when she said I should have charged you an extra 50 cents. Didn't offer a correction or even treated me as a valued customer. It's not like I want something for nothing, however its the principle of getting taken advantage of. They barely speak English, and they are extremely rude. I SHALL NEVER RETURN ! If you want a cheap, fast meal this is it. The handmade tortillas are amazing. However the salsa is TERRIBLE. It tastes like canned tomatoes. It is definitely not fresh. The chips are ok. They would be better with salt. The Horchata is bland. I probably won't be back. The service was great! read more

My spouse ordered the carne asada wet burrito oh my God was the most nasty disgusting burrito ever due to too much nerve tendon ligaments inside with lots of greasy fat on cheap recooked meat!!! The burrito didn't have no sour cream inside no avocado just a plain very greasy full of fat and tendon ligaments nerves from cow was not cut out was put inside plain burrito! Wet sauce was nasty and cheese tasted moldy! Beans had rocks on it when you dont remove rocks from beans when you don't wash beans or when you don't let it soak in water to deep clean night before! The jaimica was completely water down light pink when jaimica supposed to be thick super dark burgundy redI with full flavor like restaurant tacos lopez is 100% way better than this horrible place! I told server the worst food ever tasted in Utah jaimica water down he said they rinsed the contained water served it to us like that! Server he said too bad they need to save money to make money! I had such high hopes, but nothing materialized. Service was okay as we ordered but never saw the server again until we had to flag him down for a bill. So no drink refills, no refill on chips, etc. Food was only mediocre, specifically disappointing was the guacamole appetizer that was served on top of a bed of lettuce making it look better than it really was and kinda watering it down. The chile verde burrito had very little meat - it was mostly sauce with only a few little morsels. First the service!!!! It was amazing! The minute we walked in everyone smiling and friendly. Our hostess sat us talked with us for a minute about the restaurant and if we had been in. Our server was a younger guy I think "Ricky" was his name? He was on top of everything, Chips, Drinks, ETC.... The Food was Delicious (much better than I expected)! We both ordered Smothered Chile verde Burritos! The chile was flavorful it actually had a nice fresh green chile flavor to It that you don't always get at most other places! Tortillas were fresh soft and perfect for absorbing the chile flavors! Listen if you want no messing around Delicious Mexican/New Mexico/Utah flavors! Love this restaurant so much! Our family goes a few times a month for their smothered burrito and a side of rice. Their chips and salsa is amazing! They have a very good chunky salsa also that you'll have to request. They have a very nice staff! There's a lot of food choices for the little ones and prices are great! read more

Food was good, i wouldn't say it was anything different than your basic Mexican restaurant. They were super quick though which was really nice. Food came out hot. I got fajitas and they forgot to bring the tortillas so they took off a few bucks which was nice. We'd prob be back for a quick Mexican meal in the future. read more
