I cannot get enough of this place. The pizza is great and the calzones are to die for. I love that they have so many options for a vegetarian and will let you customize whatever you order. First time time writing a Yelp review! So the pizza is pretty decent actually (if you're into a thinner crust), but I wouldn't really recommend this place for a dine in experience. We had heard great things but we live far, so we took an Uber out there. Bacio's charges 18% gratuity automatically, which I'm totally fine with, but you don't really get any service...you order the food yourself at the counter, you get yourself water from the main drink dispenser, and the waiter just brings you paper plates. If I'm paying gratuity, I expect some level of service. Plus when we went, we sat outside and like a small swarm (not even joking) of mosquitos came for us and the pizza. It was pretty unappetizing to see mosquitos land on and off our food. They need some netting for the outdoor tent thing or a tiki torch situation. All in all, I probably wouldn't make the trip out here again, but if you're nearby and looking for take-out pizza that is a slight cut above &pizza, give it a try! read more

Given the outstanding reviews about this place, I really had high expectations. It was fairly easy to get an outdoor table on a summer Friday night, and the service was pleasant. However, the pizza just wasn't that good. There are SO many good pizza options in DC these days (2Amys, Pupatella, Timber, to name a few), and this place is just not even in that ballpark. I ordered the #81 and it just didn't come together for me. The flavors seemed to contrast, and the crust wasn't that good - a bit too thick for my liking. I considered giving this place 2 stars, but I really like the neighborhood feel and I am hoping I just ordered the wrong thing! I would try it again. read more

We got the Common Good for takeout and it was sub-par. The crust was thick and the toppings were sparse, I much prefer a thinner style crust, or at least more flavor on the pizza. The vegan pizza is good but not outstanding. The dough is thick and has a firm but chewy texture, tasting really fresh. The flavors of the sauce and dough together are pleasant, and I imagine are a great base for the pizzas with regular cheese. The vegan cheese is decent, but I'm usually left with a slightly strange taste in my mouth and a craving for regular cheese. I know vegan cheeses by their nature have a different flavor than dairy cheeses, but the one Bacio uses is stringy and stretchy and just isn't especially satisfying. That being said, I've ordered the small vegan cheese pizza multiple times, just for myself, and always finish the whole thing within a few hours of its arrival. It's really quite tasty as a whole, but the cheese knocks its score down a bit and keeps it from being exceptional. read more

What a lovely pizzeria! I have to start by saying the service was impeccable!! First off, they accommodated our party of 10, which is hard to do inside of a smaller place so I really appreciated their work to make it happen, and because we were moved from outside bc it had started to rain, the manager gave us free ice cream our waitress gizem was the biggest sweetheart and so nice! For service alone I would come back! The food was great too :) the pizza tasted like Napoli brick oven style pizza toppings on a thicker more American pizza crust, so it was really yummy in between! No 81 was my favorite! The eggplant and artichokes were yummy but are served cold, which was still good but I think I would have preferred hot. Overall the night was wonderful, the decor is modern and inviting, good food and great service- u can't go wrong! read more

One star is even too much. Do not order from this place. Worst experience ever. Put an order in for carry out and they gave it to someone else. When I called to ask them where it was and for a refund the lady simply hung up on me. Save yourself the hassle and order dominos, at least you will get your food and with less attitude! In response to the reply: No one used bad language, so now in addition to cheating ya out of or money you are also lying. Your staff didn't even listen to the problem before hanging up. As for taking online orders, you clearly took the order online hence why you made the food and gave t to someone else. If you don't want to work with online services then don't accept the orders, that is entirely something you control. If you do take the order, and customers money, then deliver on the service. You gave the order to someone else, which raises questions around basic carry out competencies. You should know how to handle a simple carry out order where you check that it is going to the right person. Your response to this comment clearly only proves the review I posted and the little regard you have for treating customers well or fairly. Everyone should be very cautious when dealing with this restaurant as they will take your money and not deliver the food ordered. The management and staff clearly have zero desire to provide good customer service. read more

Despite living in Bloomingdale for a while, I hadnt made it to Bacio, despite wanting to try it for a year! I finally stopped in on Saturday night with some friends visiting from out of town, and we were NOT disappointed! 3 of us ordered the calzones and the 4th person got a large pizza (in case we wanted to try it!) and it was way too much food! the calzones were delicious, but I think Ill order the pizza when I return (hopefully soon.) On the way out our friends got some ice cream, which was delicious as well! Happy to have a cool neighborhood spot like Bacio! read more

Tried one of their 'creation pizzas' this week, the Shaw (pesto sauce, ham, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, and arugula). The menu says the small pizza (10") is good for 1 person. I could have easily split this with a friend as it was pretty heavy. I called in the order and it was ready for pick up in less than 15 minutes. Pizza was good but it's no 2 amy's! read more

This is what a neighborhood business should be. It's small but it provides some of the best pizza in the city. The owner is friendly and approachable and he is always around either at the pizza shop or the pet store up above which is also great. The outside was just redone with some landscaping and a little patio which really does beautify the neighborhood. The patio is also byob making it a great place to hang out and enjoy an evening. For dessert they have amazing Moorenko's ice cream. I really should not be raving about this place too much lest it get overrun by non Bloomingdale residents but to be honest, they deserve it. read more

I absolutely agree. The pizza was GREAT, the ingredients were fresh and delicious, and the price point is awesome. The crust was a little thicker than the other "gourmet" pizza joints in DC (e.g. Paradiso, 2 Amy's), and it was delicious! Great addition to the neighborhood. The staff is fast and courteous, the menu is simple, but well done, and the pizzas are fantastic. The pizza here has grown on me. I came first for the atmosphere - such a cute little space that they've decorated from floor to ceiling, and a second floor with romantic bay window dining. After moving to the neighborhood, this has become a go-to spot for good pizza and ambiance. The service is always friendly and fast. I think the place is really unique and has its own character. Definitely try the margherita pizza - quality ingredients, and you can tell. The salads are also good, though I suspect most come here for the pizza. read more

Read a ton of reviews and saw the good word about their gluten-free crust and dairy-free offerings (Daiya cheese) which sounded perfect to accommodate my g/f, d/f diet, so my g/f friend and I were all over it. First, the seating on the patio is only good if it's on a warm day. There IS no true seating inside - it's a wagon/cart thing with a bench and nowhere to put your legs. So when we came on Sunday night which was chilly, there was a patio with a couple people huddled for warmth because there are no outdoor heaters - too bad as we probably would have ordered more and stayed a bit longer if they had just one column-style heater out there that would have kept us all warm :(. Unfortunately the pizza was pretty terrible. The gluten free crust was gross - tasteless and doughy. They could create an awesome cornmeal crust that would rock but whatever they made was gnarly. And as someone who has cooked with Daiya cheese before (one of the few decent vegan cheeses that's also soy-free), these guys obviously don't know how to work with it as it looked undercooked and was not fully melted on top. The roasted garlic was nice on top, but the "prosciutto" appeared to be more like deli ham than true prosciutto. Finally, my friend got the salad with the arugula, cranberries and raspberry vinaigrette and it appeared to be two cups of greens and a bit of the rest sprinkled, and the raspberry vinaigrette was this weird watery substance - looked like red koolaid, kinda scary. The food here is awesome! Me and two friends ordered two pies and a calzone Sunday night and were surprised at how fresh and yummy they were! Love the cornmeal uses on the dough, adds a nice crispy texture to the already crispy crust. I forget the exact pie we had but it had whole roasted cloves of garlic on it. We are in love and will order from here again and again! And they have good salads too ease the pizza guilt :) read more

Not many clearer signs of victory than randomly stopping for some pizza on the way home. One of Yelp's distinct advantage shone when I decided to search for nearby pizza to celebrate the great fantasy football draft I put together an hour prior. Upon seeing how highly rated Bacio's was, the wife and I just had to stop by. Nestled in Bloomingdale, the unassuming and inviting front reminds you of vacation home. You can either dine in upstairs or out front on the sidewalk. We decided to sit indoors and be serenaded by the smooth jazz playing through quality speakers. I enjoyed a DC brau Belgian ale - which was delicious. We started with the arugula salad. Very tasty and the cranberries and Gorgonzola cheese tastes fresh. The pizza was excellent. Fresh mozzarella cheese married the tomato sauce and crispy crunch perfectly. It wasn't quite thin crust. Cornmeal made for a crunchy outer, yet the inside was moist. The contrast was excellent. The cheese pizza gets an A+ from me. I'm looking forward to trying the toppings out, but be mindful that they are $2 each. After that meal, I admittedly Milly rocked backed to the car (not really...but yea I did for real). With a solid happy hour, I can guarantee that I'll be back. read more
