Hands down my favorite restaurant of all time. I have dreamed of eating here since my DC trip in April of '25 when I went twice! Finally I was able to go again recently and it did not disappoint. The arancini is perfectly crispy and the Calabrian chili/lemon combination is to die for!!! The cesare with mint and lemon and crunchy lettuce wedges are another home run. Finally the carbonara is perfectly sauced and incredibly flavorful. I absolutely cannot say anything better about this restaurant and I'm counting down the days until I get to return!!

When researching places to eat while in the area for a conference, L'Ardente consistently came up across multiple sources as a great place to dine in DC. After polling my colleagues, we came to the agreement to check this place out. That being said, I booked a table our first night in the area and off we went. L'Ardente specializes in Italian fare - specifically marketing themselves as "glam Italian". Walking in, I didn't really get glam vibes, but perhaps because it was still daylight. The restaurant is pretty spacious - the main dining room has high ceilings and big windows, with a bar along the back wall and some alcoves along the far side of the restaurant. The decor is mostly modern, with mostly dark finishes with clean lines. We started with drinks - they have a good selection of cocktails and were also flexible to make something that we specifically requested. For apps, we decided to share the pulpo, verde salad, artichokes, and melon with prosciutto. All of these were good, but the pulpo and artichokes were my two favorite. Both were creatively prepared and had great flavor. For my main, their signature 40-layer lasagna was tempting, but I opted for the linguine ai frutti di mare. This was an interesting preparation - the expected seafood was there, but the red sauce was thicker than traditionally used in the dish, and had more heat. The dish was good, and apparently this is a running theme where they put their own twists on what are usually traditional Italian dishes. We opted for dessert, and shared the vanilla soufflé, crème brûlée, and the blueberry panna cotta. All of these were really good and creatively prepared. The soufflé was my favorite - great vanilla flavor and pared with tasty pistachio ice cream. Service was great, everyone was super friendly and made sure we were taken care of. Overall, I had a good experience at L'Ardente. Glam? The jury is out for me - but, the food is solid and service was great. I would return, but not before checking other Italian restaurants out in the area first.

L'ardente is a gem in an unexpected part of the city. There's not too much around it and you wouldn't expect there to be an authentic Italian place. This place certainly is different from your Trattoria type of restaurant but does not lack in flavor. The pastas are excellent and you should definitely try the lasagna that everyone raves about.

There is a reason I continue coming back to L'Ardente, every visit somehow manages to outdo the last, and this one was extra special as we celebrated one of my fraternity brothers' 40th birthday. We had a 12:30 PM reservation, and surprisingly...we actually made it on time. Well, I did anyway. To kick things off, we started with tequila, Reposado for me and a smoked tequila cocktail for my frat brother. It was the perfect way to toast another trip around the sun. For appetizers, we ordered the Caesar and the Verdure Grigliate, both of which were fresh, flavorful, and the perfect start to the meal. From there, we moved on to two of my favorites: the Duck Hunt Ravioli and the Gamberi. Of course, no visit to L'Ardente is complete without the Lasagna. If you have been here before, you already know. Layer after layer of perfectly balanced pasta, cheese, and sauce, it remains one of the best lasagnas I have had anywhere. We wrapped everything up with the Blueberry Panna Cotta, which was light, creamy, and the perfect ending to an incredible birthday lunch. As amazing as the food was, the service deserves just as much praise. Our server, David, was absolutely phenomenal. Hospitality like his is becoming harder to find. When another one of my fraternity brothers decided to join us unexpectedly, David happily accommodated him even though he was not part of the original reservation. He made sure our guest felt just as welcome and even served two celebratory shots at the table, adding another memorable touch to an already fantastic afternoon. L'Ardente has mastered the complete dining experience. The stunning dining room, consistently outstanding food, handcrafted cocktails, and genuinely warm service make it one of the best restaurants in Washington, DC. Every visit reminds me why it remains one of my favorite places to recommend. 10/10. Somehow every visit is my best visit, and this birthday celebration was no exception. If you are looking for a restaurant that gets every detail right from the food to the service to the atmosphere, L'Ardente should absolutely be on your list!

We came here as a suggestion from our Lyft driver and we ordered everything he talked about with the exception of the prosciutto and melon appy. We had a fabulous dinner and our server, Ryan, was fantastic. He was so attentive and walked us through each course and even hung in there when we ordered the soufflé for dessert which took about 20 mins to prepare. (I'm sure he wanted to go home but hey, I've never had a soufflé!) Great food and service!

This place has been on my list for a while so I was excited to finally check this place out. The staff were incredibly kind and very knowledgeable with their menu. They were super attentive to us throughout our meal. For our meal, we ordered the Cesare, the Rigatoni alla Carbonara, and their famous Lasagna with 40 layers. Everything came out in a super timely manner and each dish was so rich in flavor. I am happy that my friend and I ended up splitting everything. The Cesare was addictive, the Carbonara was very creamy so the bite of salty bacon in the dish was a welcoming taste and then Lasagna was divine. It reminded me almost of eating a delicious warm stew but in lasagna form, making it such a comforting meal to eat. It was a lovely experience and is the perfect spot for your next date night.

If I ever want to feel like I am on Sex and the City, this is the spot to go. Have a reservation! The food is quite savory and explosive with flavor. The location is great because you can walk to so many places afterwards to digest your meal. If you order their famous 40 layer lasagna, my pro tip is to eat very light that day because you will be stuffed with goodness after eating at L'Ardente! The ambiance is so picturesque and the staff is beyond stellar. Love this!

Went here for a lunch. Loved absolutely everything. We had Cavolfiori, Whole Grilled Branzino, Americana pizza. As a desert we had Tiramisu Flambé and Crostata di Celiegie. Every single dish was perfect. Also great service and ambiance.

Headed to L'Ardente after a hectic work day to let my shoulders down and we were very well taken care of! I'm so grateful for the Guest Relations Manager, Robin Williams, for her attentiveness, willingness to provide excellent service, and ensure that our server, the food, and seating arrangement was to our liking. The restaurant is beautifully laid out with high ceilings, a brick oven pizza bar, great lighting and wonderful food! The Polpo paired with the Carciofi blended perfectly! I'm looking forward to making their happy hour next!

Service - Wonderful! The server was so attentive and came by often. He helped with making decisions for the table based on the items we have already ordered! Duck Hunt- MUST GET!! The ravioli was aldente but the cheese foam was the star! The funk of the cheese foam coats your mouth with the explosion of flavor. Cesare Salad- Twist. A minty, lemony twist to a classic. It was a wonderful addition to the table to share among 3 people for a starter Gamberi- Delicious. The prawns were well cooked and the sauce was deeply seasoned. If you are opposed to having a "face" on your food, this is not for you Lasagna-Classic done right. 40 layers of delicious short rib with a pile of freshly shaved parm on the side!! This is the dish you come back for each and everytime Zucca- Rich. This was rich and deep with flavor. This would be a wonderful second day dish if taken home. The pasta soaked up even more of the flavor from the sauce!! Dover Sole Piccata- Light. This was a large portion for the amount of other food on the table. If ordering for just 3 people, you will end up with too much. This was a nice light option if you didn't want to have a heavy meal. Wished the potatoes were a little crispy to give a different texture of the dish Vanilla Soufflé- MUST GET!! Who ever said vanilla is boring is dead wrong! The soufflé was custardy and melts in your mouth without the eggy taste or smell On to my next adventure...

    Ceaser salad.
    Brittney V.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I can't wait to visit again. Everything was absolutely delicious. They even elevated the traditional ceaser salad and made its citrus notes dance on your pallet differently. I purposefully tried all the viral items, arancini, 40 layer lasagna etc and they lived up to the hype. The ambiance, and service were equally satisfying. If I lived in the area, it would be my weekly go to.

The standout in the Neri were the shellfish for me. Even though they were small bits, the pieces tasted fresh. In the Gnocchi, the saltiness of the prosciutto, though not overwhelming, paired well with the basil sauce. I finished a little more than half of each plate before boxing it up for a small lunch the next day. The service was great and the tall ceiling and windowed dining room provided a nice atmosphere. The whole menu is labeled as shareable, but the butter beans literally had maybe 15 beans with toothpicks to share... the fries were pretty good, but for $12 for just a bowl of fries, I would expect exceptional. I liked the chili crisp salmon, but it didn't blow me away, and the portion size for $18 was so small. I did think the Parker house rolls were fantastic, and they came out piping hot, which was delightful. The mocktail option was also excellent! I really wish they would reconsider only having Baked and Wired pastries available in the morning- you only have one rotating cake option available for dessert, and it would've been nice to be able to enjoy more. I did not think the service experience here merited an automatic, unchangeable 20% gratuity. There's very minimal service- you are just brought your food and a water carafe. And while everything on the menu looked and tasted good, the tiny portions for items labeled as shareable didn't feel quite right. A fun place to stop in for a glass of wine, but I didn't love the experience enough to be eager to return.

They were on the tail end of their winter menu, and the sparkling wine that my friend was super excited about was phased out. But I just told the staff what kind of wine I was in the mood for and they chose something wonderful for me. I took pictures of the bottles, I'll track those down and post them later. I'm glad I managed to find red and white wines that I enjoyed. I also noticed that they had a crunchwrap on their menu and I had to try it. It was smaller than I thought, but the flavors going on?? Spectacular. There will also these dumplings... SWEET POTATO DUMPLINGS! And they had sage and candied walnuts. Ultimately they tasted more like a dessert, but I was obsessed with those and loved how unique they were. I'd return here, there's just too much good stuff to try! Can get pricey if you want to try a lot of wines, though.

One meat and one cheese is $7 each. I don't eat much and felt like a snack. When I got my cheeseboard, I got 1 slice of cheese and 3 thin slices of meat. Not even full slices, they were shaved and tapered off at the end. They charged me $18. I guarantee the entire block of cheese was probably $7-9. I eat a lot of charcuterie and that was by far the smallest portion I've ever received. I didn't feel for wine after that. They have a very small cozy place that's probably more enjoyable buzzed off wine. Maybe the review would've been outstanding if I came for wine. But if the quality and service doesn't match on the other items on the menu ... just remove them

Plus, the ambience is a mix of relaxation and class. I ordered the Lychee Martini to start, followed by the Tom Yum Fried Rice with Shrimp. It was cold, fresh, and so flavorful. Plus, it packed a punch. Although I normally eat the pork belly with fried rice, I decided to go with the Tom Yum Fried Rice with Shrimp, which did not disappoint. The freshness and spicy/sour flavors really delight the pallet. Plus, the pepper tray provides vinegar and hot sauces to supplement, if needed. The owner not only cares about the quality of the food in this restaurant, but about his customers and the community. I haven't visited for a while, and the staff still remembered my standard order. That attention to detail is something that makes people feel appreciated and want to come back again and again. Kudos to Baan Siam for their success year over year!

The khao soi had good flavor, and it came with rice. The chicken wings were for my son, he said they were the best wings he's ever had. The beef curry had good flavor, but the beef was a bit overcooked. Service was a little bit of a miss. When the waiter first came, he asked us for our food order. However, we wanted to order drinks first. I was able to order my cocktail, however, the waiter left before anyone else at my table could speak to order a beverage. Food came out very quickly. This is not the type of place where you would want to enjoy drinks and food over a period of time. However, if you are super hungry, your food will definitely get to you quickly. Restaurant was crowded, but not super loud. Overall, I would come back for the food, I just wish that I could have more time to enjoy my restaurant experience.

We received two lovely bags of bread... I will say, I thought there was more in the bags than there actually was, but I loved that presentation haha. I decided to branch out from brunch norms and get this Manhattan ... The Ba'Nanhattan. The notes were very nutty and it had dried bananas in it, I loved it! I tried my coworker's cucumber drink, and as someone who does not like cucumbers, I couldn't deny how refreshing and summery that was. I was on the fence about a couple of entrees, but I decide to get the BECC... Bacon egg & cheese croissant. WHEW! That thing was so flaky and every ingredient was simply delicious. I was the only one at the table that didn't get potatoes with my entree... I went for the fruit instead. Little did I know that it was going to be all melons. I only started liking watermelon last year, and that was fine, but the cantaloupe?? I still don't like it. I could have asked to swap out but I didn't want to be difficult. And I didn't ask what kind of fruit it was, so that is on me. After this brunch experience, I'll be curious to come on other occasions. Happy hour, dinner.... I usually don't go for French food, but I liked what I had and I would definitely return.

The food came out pretty quickly; I just wasn't impressed with it. I ordered a happy hour cocktail - the tequila honeysuckle. I was told it is tequila with ginger, honey and a touch of lime juice - it tasted really watered down. no bite from ginger or tart from lime at all. I should've went with the wine which my companions had and enjoyed, after all it is a wine bar. They offered a DC restaurant week menu even though restaurant week hasn't officially started so that was a nice surprise. For my three courses. I had the tomato and peach salad, the steak frites and the Peach Melba. The fruit seemed to be under ripe, so the tomatoes and peaches in both dishes were very firm and not sweet. In fact, I could barely cut the peach in the Peach Melba with a spoon and so I took two bites of it before I called it quits. The frites were very good. I ordered the steak medium but it was a little overdone, not juicy and underwhelming in flavor. Overall, I enjoyed the visit because it was a great opportunity to catch up with my companions, but if I come again, I think I'll just stick to wine.

The whole vibe is immaculate, with dark walls, dim lighting, and a great playlist, which all sets a very welcoming atmosphere. They have one of the best happy hours in town. M-F until 7, you can get incredible deals. You can get chicken or BLT sliders for $3.50 apiece, and reduced priced stuffed mushrooms, too. The $5 whipped feta comes with a big side of potato chips. These are small bites, but for very small prices. Food specials on a happy hour menu always get me excited. The chicken sliders were the consensus fave and will definitely be our go to. The drink deals are even better, though. I had a delicious old fashioned for just $7, and for round 2, the preparadas up is amazing. It is a bright red draft milk punch that is a little sweet, a little tart, with gin, lime, a touch of spice, and a sour candy garnish. Very fun, but very delicious, too. And it packs a punch. Plenty of other options are discounted, too. If you are reading this during the government shutdown, they have additional shutdown deals (available for everyone, all day), so it's almost like all day happy hour. Don't miss it!

The moment the banchan (Korean side dishes) arrived and we took our first bites, we knew we'd stumbled upon an outstanding Korean restaurant. Every side dish is prepared authentically and tastes fantastic. Our first main dish to come out was kimchi fried rice with beef. While it isn't made using a fully traditional Korean method, it was absolutely delicious -- easily the best kimchi fried rice I've had in the past few years. We also ordered their signature pork and potato stew. It was excellent; the chili flavour was smooth, and every ingredient was wonderfully seasoned. Our server was incredibly polite and friendly, and we were happy to leave a tip for them. We plan to come back tomorrow evening, but unfortunately, our server told us they might not be working then. This Korean restaurant is highly recommended. If you're staying nearby or travelling in Washington DC, I'd strongly suggest stopping by to enjoy their wonderful Korean food.
