Just amazing and the good was delicious. Our server was incredible and our meal was filling. I had the Ceaser salad with a side of grilled shrimp and a glass of bubbly. Will definitely return

This "sister restaurant " of La Grande Boucherie was a disappointment. We thought we'd try to pop into La Grande Boucherie for a late lunch at 2:00, but still faced a 35-minute wait so we took the hostess's suggestion to try Olio. It's a charming light-filled space with lovely cherry blossom accents over the bar. We were seated immediately, but then had to wait 10 minutes to get menus and water. The waiter came back fairly quickly to get our order - an appetizer of mortadella and cheeses, and three different sandwiches. The appetizer and drinks came out 10 minutes later and then we waited at least 30 minutes for our sandwiches. My special espresso cherry blossom martini was excellent and the appetizer was good. The sandwiches were ok - all three were dry and not terribly remarkable. Perhaps it's better to order pasta here. In an attempt to end the meal on a good note, we ordered dessert - two Valrhona hot chocolates and lemon sorbet. Again, took an eternity to come out. There was some sort of confusion with the sorbet order; the menu says three scoops but they only brought one. When I attempted to talk to the server about it and make sure they weren't going to charge us $13 for one scoop, he was short with me and kind of snarky. I assume he was tired and overwhelmed because the restaurant was packed and they clearly needed more staff. Still - not the best way to handle a customer question. Overall, the food was underwhelming and the service was not great. Might be good for cocktails before a show, but otherwise I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.

Must have caught them on a bad night. The service was shy and felt like the minimum. The salad was mediocre as the greens weren't the highest quality/the freshest. The fritto primavera wasn't very fritto--it was soft fried and had no crispness; I honestly probably should have sent it back. This meal was not worth $50 ($60 after tipping). I did like the ambience. The restaurant was decorated for Christmas and the lighting was very intimate. Upon receiving the check, there was also a surprise 3% 'Restaurant Surcharge.' It wasn't gratuity or a credit card fee, just a surcharge--wth?! So watch out!

Interior is very cute and nicely decorated. It feels very classic. We went for lunch and got the calamari, seafood pasta and carbonara. The seafood pasta was great! Really flavorful and didn't lean fishy at all. The service was nice but we did ask for water and got bottled water which we did not know was not free haha It was like $10 sorta crazy

Oh, oh, oh,oh Olio you know!!!! This has the right stuff Fantastic food yo! Get the pasta - de Pepe is de precocious Love the servers, ask them to sing songs from Mama Mia! They won't do it, but what a great show! Drink a bottle of wine backwards - your friends will get a kick!

We made a 6pm reservation for a Thursday evening before a show at the National Theater. (Convenient location, theater lovers!) The restaurant was beautifully decorated inside and out for the holiday season. I forgot to take pictures of the outside, but I looked like a high-end hotel with huge wreaths over the windows and white lights. We noticed it even just driving by looking for parking. Inside, they had white lights, evergreen bows, fresh greenery, which was just warm and inviting. We were just a trio, but I did see long family style seating for large parties of 8 to 10, plus some bar seating, in addition to traditional four-tops. I had the mocha espresso martini, which was a little bitter like other reviewers had mentioned, but I actually liked it that way. My friend brought her daughter with us, and she ordered the nonalcoholic "NON IL FARFALLA ROSA" cocktail made with lychee, cranberry, lemon, and nonalcoholic Prosecco. (See pic with floating flower.) She said she enjoyed it. We started out with the bruschetta as an appetizer. It was two large pieces with burrata, tomato, garlic, basil, and a balsamic drizzle. I think they use a touch of sea salt to make them burrata really pop. It was very tasty. My friend had the TAGLIATELLE DI BOSCO, pasta with mixed mushrooms. Her daughter had the TROFIETTE AL PESTO E FAGIOLINI, pasta with pesto. I was torn between the SPAGHETTI CACIO E PEPE and the PICCATA LIMONE E SALVIA; based on another Yelp review, I ordered the latter. I think I ended up with some "diner's remorse," because it was fine but it was nothing to write home about. The chicken medallions were not very lemony, and the veggies were overcooked and limp. Portion size was OK, but I was glad I had an appetizer because I was still fairly hungry by the end of dinner. My friend and I both had a glass of Pinot Grigio to go with our meals, which was light, sweet, and paired nicely with our entrées. For dessert, my friend and her daughter shared the chocolate mousse and I had the tiramisu. The tiramisu was a good portion, but it wasn't as espresso forward as I personally prefer. But the mascarpone cream tasted a very fresh and fluffy. Our server Christian was friendly and attentive. He fixed our uneven table for us so it stopped wobbling as well. The only true negative would be the noise level inside the dining room. It's an open kitchen and an open dining room and an open bar, all in one space, so it was very loud at times. Difficult to have a quiet, private, or intimate conversation should you want one. Otherwise, it's a solid pre-theater choice and we enjoyed the meal and ambience, especially during the holiday season.

The tiramisu was AMAZING! We absolutely loved our dining experience. We were able to find parking street side and used ParkMobile. The space is pretty big and two parties were actually being held there when we arrived. I love all the plants and the cute decor. Our server was Gregory and he was phenomenal we really appreciated his checking in on us during the night. Tikia was a manager and she came by a few times and gave us a few of her favs to order and she was right on point! They were both amazing and we couldn't have asked for a better night. We will definitely be back!

The food is not too bad, just can be a little expensive. The chocolate mousse and soup is not worth the price. The server we had is not good, not constantly checking on us. There is either missing a fork, or spoon, or drink on our table and we had to keep asking another server passing by to help us. The menu is not user friendly for people don't know italian. We know some English and still having a hard time figuring out what is on the menu. Also because we just pass by this restaurant and didn't do any work to study its menu before we go in and my phone has bad connection to internet that time, so we had some difficulties figure out what we should order from menu. In addition, the people in there are talking very loud. Overall, the food is great, just overpriced. The server we had is bad. The menu is not very useful. Other people in restaurant talk too loud.

    SPAGHETTI ALLA CARBONARA
    Donna Y.

Came here on a Friday and it was bustling! We found a spot at the bar. I ordered the fritto primavera which was fried calamari, zucchini, carrots with a side of aioli. The calamari was fried lightly and very tender. It was cooked nicely. I also ordered the spaghetti alla carbonara. It was cooked with pancetta, egg yolk, parm, and chilli flakes. I broke the yolk and mixed everything together. The noodles were cooked nicely but the flavor was a bit lackluster. This dish could have used a bit more salt which is surprising since pancetta is usually on the saltier side (not this one though). Not my favorite dish.

Came for the $25 lunch special. Food was delicious! The manager had the bartender make us a new drink they they're putting on the menu and it was amazing!! Shout out to the bartender Ximena for the tasty margaritas!!! Will be back!

I think I went in with super high expectations. On a quick DC weekend trip, my fiancé and I decided to do a cute early dinner at Olio e Piu. I reserved a table online, but it seemed like it would only let me book outdoor tables. I didn't mind that because the weather was perfect. When we arrived, the hostess was super sweet and even offered us an indoor table. The inside is gorgeous and chic. It's a really pretty indoor space. We had already gotten excited about the good weather outside so decided to stay there. I went in knowing I'd love to try the carbonara and then probably a salad. I'm not sure what happened, but things felt off with our waiter. I'm not sure the best way to capture what I'm trying to describe, but it felt a little rushed and unwelcoming. I had seen a lot of good things about the pastas on Yelp. My fiancé and I shared the insalata di spinaci and the spaghetti alla carbonara. I really loved the salad. It was simple, but delicious. The carbonara looked really pretty! I wish it had a bit more flavor. At some point the egg began to cook and was too eggy in the wrong way (even with mixing it in beforehand). I should also note the focaccia was nice at the start. Do know we only tried two dishes, I'd be curious to see what their other pasta dishes or brunch is like.

For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!
