Hot take: There's no better slice than the White Hibiscus at Backdraughts in downtown New Port Richey. Prove me wrong.

We come here all the time! It's a favorite of mine and a place I bring everyone that visits. This is truly my favorite pizza ever!! The food is always incredible. The service is also always great, every single time I come in. It's laid back, fun, a great place to go with family, the kids, or for girl dinner. All the negative reviews being about service, whatever ..... the food is literally so good it doesn't even matter. I've personally never had bad service but even if I did, the pizza is so good I wouldnt care.

Buffalo cauliflower I started eating it before I took a picture.

Back Draughts has some of my favorite Buffalo cauliflower and wood fired pizza around. The Buffalo sauce on the cauliflower is not too spicy and I like the blue cheese crumbles served on it. We usually order a 10" pizza with pepperoni because the specialty pizzas do not have a combination of toppings that we enjoy. The flavor of the dough and sauce is some of my favorite. The sauce is not too acidic, a little sweet. And the dough is always soft. I would recommend adding a specialty pizza that would allow you to pick some toppings. By the time we order a 10" and add 3-5 toppings it becomes too expensive. I think that the Buffalo cauliflower should also come with a side of blue cheese dressing. We like the option of sitting outside and our service has always been great.

Excellent food. Great service. Good location & parking. We definitely want to try more of their flavors. The hibiscus pizza is really tasty! Their wings are crispy and flavorful. Nice selection of draft beers and craft cocktails.

    Fried pickles

Heard a lot about the place and being new to the area I figured what the heck. Great location. Nice outdoor seating area as well. So I ordered the fried pickles which were ok, but undercooked to my liking. Needed another two minutes in the fryer. Now, for my pizza, I went with the personal size which was equivalent to two slices. Good size. Ordered meatball, pepperoni, basil and bacon. Meatballs were literally like shredded meatball crumbles. Pepperoni was commercial food service grade, not cupped, but thin and greasy. Bacon was more like bacon bits. I asked for a little hot honey drizzle as well. Not impressed with the pizza. Maker over did it with the honey. Pizza was sort of tasteless. Over-cheesed for my liking as well. Server was truly awesome! I would go back and try it without the honey.

Nice looking interior space. Plenty of room between the bar and seating areas. I was welcomed warmly when I came in and had a good experience with the wait staff. The meatballs were just ok. Not much flavor but has promise with some recipe refinement. The pizza dough was light and fluffy but was also just ok.

    Truffle Pizza and Plain wings.

The pizza and wings are menu highlights, with the pizza being absolutely delicious and the wings crispy and full of flavor. Our standard order includes the Truffle Pizza and plain wings, with sauce served on the side. The pricing reflects the outstanding quality and friendly service.

Been here a few times, mostly good experiences and good pizza . This last time the margarita pizza was not good. Barely any cheese and sparse tomatoes, mostly sauce. It is brick oven pizza, but the bottom was burned and that all we good taste. I'm not saying it's terrible and you should not go there, just hoping it was a one-off. They have a beautiful patio that looks out toward Sims Park and its a nice place to enjoy pizza , but you might avoid the margarita.

    Meatball Ricotta Pizza

I LOVE wood fired pizza; however: 1. The Margarita crust was so bland. They need to either brush with garlic oil and add some seasoning (at least salt) in the crust 2. The service was horrible. Waited 15 minutes at an outside table. Moved closer and waited another 10. I went inside to order drinks and he said someone will be out. Another 10 minutes and finally flagged someone down. We gave our order, and as she walked away, 5 people came up and talked to her. They sit next to us and there were given their drinks first, and their food. Seriously??? Ordered fried pickles and wings, then pizza after. Maybe they heard us talking about how long we waited and then rushed the pizza before we hardly starting eating the apps. Now- positive review: Awesome wings. Yummy! Large, smoky and crispy. Make sure and ask for 2 sauces on the side, one was not enough. Meatball and ricotta pizza was delicious. Nice and charred crust with a gooey top and the ricotta and meatball was perfect! Minus the bland crust, the margarita was balanced well with the tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil I'll chalk this experience up to just opening. I do love their pizza and hope they can refine the service.

The overall vibe is what keeps us coming back. That said, we've had multiple unpleasant experiences with the same male bartender. The first time I visited, I had never been there before and asked which beer was the most popular or what people ordered the most. Instead of answering my question, he simply pointed at the menu on the wall and said, "That's our menu." I wasn't asking what beers you had, I was asking for a recommendation. It came across as dismissive. On another visit, I had a wonderful experience with a female bartender. She was friendly, accommodating, and made my drink exactly how I requested. Unfortunately, on a later visit I ended up with the same male bartender again. I ordered a cocktail and politely asked if he could make it a little sweeter. His response was, "We make it how we make it." I told him that was completely fine and just asked if he could make it slightly sweeter. He replied, "I'll try." The drink came out with no sweetness at all, and it honestly didn't seem like any effort was made to accommodate a simple request. I don't expect every request to be possible, but I do expect friendly customer service and a willingness to help when it's something so minor. Thankfully, the atmosphere, events, and the rest of the staff have been great enough that we continue coming back. I just hope the customer service is more consistent because Starkey Market is otherwise such a wonderful place.

The place is smaller than it first appears, though the front patio gives it a more spacious feel. Inside, there is a narrow bar with about 15 seats and four high-top tables along the walls and windows. The setup has an old-school pub feel, with shelves of bottles behind the bar and several big-screen TVs for the sports crowd. We were greeted by Scott, who was serving as both bartender and server. Great name... hes wearing the "WTF Scott" tee shirt pictured. I didn't ask. He was friendly, offered good suggestions, and made me a very tasty Buffalo Trace Manhattan. My wife went with a draft beer, and the service got the evening off to a strong start. Following Scott's recommendation, I ordered the Drunken Shrimp Mac and Cheese. He promised four shrimp, but the dish arrived with five, which earned him a "WTF Scott"? And and a fist bump. My wife chose the chop steak hoagie, and that was a winner as well. We ended up taking home half the hoagie and a portion of the mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was not especially traditional--it was more like pasta in a loose, cheesy sauce with a texture closer to tomato sauce--but it was still tasty. The hoagie was especially good, with a soft bun that held the meat, mushrooms, and onions together well. One drawback is the amount of underused space near the bathrooms and rear hallway, though making better use of it would probably require a costly renovation. Even so, the patio was busy, the atmosphere was very casual, and both the food and service were solid. Our total came to a little under $50 before tax and tip, although the roughly 3% credit card surcharge is always an annoyance. Overall, Steamworks Pub is a super-casual spot with good food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. It is definitely worth a try.
