The ambiance seemed okay walking in. They appear to have live music occasionally. They were unfortunately out of oysters. Asked for a recommendation and was told to try the Ceviche, Feta Dip, or assortment of other flatbreads. I opted for the shrimp ceviche and mango habanero wings. I also had the summer shandy beer. The ceviche was alright, nothing to write home about. The wings were overcooked and had taste that was lacking flavor, it was mainly spicy. My main issue was that my drink had mucus at the bottom and while I was vlogging, I noticed the floating piece and notified the bartender when she came back. And then I asked my server for the check. Did not take order for over 15 minutes after we were seated. The kitchen was very slow making meals. Got appetizer soon after ordering, but again had to wait 30 minutes for meal for 3 of us to- clams, shrimp and a poor boy. Poor boy was OK, but nothing to write home about, shrimp was only 1/2 lb , suppose to be lb, and clams overcooked 2 orders. It was very loud, hard to talk over the noise. Restrooms were clean. We have been here many times and while all of our experiences have been great, last night's visit was by far the best. We split a 1/2# hot peel 'em Old Bay shrimp, as well as the Feta Whip and a side salad with Greek dressing. FANTASTIC. Seriously, do yourself a favor and try them... you'll want to come back for more. :) Sangria on tap was great and Mom, of course, loved her Pinot. Wanted to try something different for a quick lunch and the Nauti Oar seemed to call our name. Nice little bar/grill off of Rt19, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Our server, Michelle, was most pleasant as she tended to the bar and tables for a nice lunch crowd. Had a dozen oysters that were fresh and cold, along with a shrimp po-boy and cold pint of beer. Service was great! Beer selection was loaded with drafts, and cold pints. The reason for 4 star vs 5 was that my shrimp po-boy was cold steamed shrimp vs the normal fried. They were very good, but expected a more New Orleans flair since some of the other items leaned in that direction. We will return and try another selection. As we waited, the salads looked fantastic. Let me start by saying waitress was lovely but out numbered. We were ther at 12 lunch time. We started with the oysters beinville which were delish and easily the best cooked oysters I've had in a long time. The rest of our food was ok and bad. I tasted everything as I was there with my mom, aunt and grandmother. The Rueben was ok, the French dip - ok, the shrimp tacos - ok, the pork carnitas tacos - disgusting and really inedible! Nothing was hot including the gumbo, could've been ok maybe but since it was cold and had a hard clump of rice on the middle I couldn't eat more than a couple of bites. The side red potatoes could've been good but like the rest of the food luke warm which is why the waitress being so busy was an issue. She didn't come back to check on us for so long we couldn't ask for it to all be warmed up and up to that point anything we wanted we had to go to the bar and kind of yell at her to get her attention. Like I said she was really lovely but just over worked. She came and brought drinks fine and then brought oysters fine but we needed plates, utensils and crackers. I had to go to bar for her. Then she brought the food out fine although I had to wait for my tacos and she put my aunts taco on my plate which wasn't that big of a deal. I just passed it to her. The problem was when you combine everything it was an unpleasant experience. If I were going for drinks and oysters only, wanting an open air dive bar with dirt dobbers flying inside and a low level of expectations...I would give 4 stars but since the other reviews seem to not be concerned about those issues and rave about everything I thought we would like the place. I was wrong. The 3 stars I am giving is me being nice any one else in my group said they would give less than 1 star and none of us will ever be back for anything. read more

Let's be clear. This place is a BAR with a small restaurant. It's a local hangout with lots of choices for alcoholic beverages, and quite a few good food choices. But nothing is fried. It's not on the river, but a stone's throw from it, with boats on trailers in the parking area. Not the most attractive view. Speaking of parking, that's a hit or miss situation, parking in between those boats on trailers. And the place is packed with happy, satisfied customers! So we stayed, and sat outside. We tried four different entrees and they were all good - even if not traditional. Husband had a Cuban, with corn on the cob. He asked for no tomato, or pickle, but didn't see the lettuce listed on the menu. It's his first Cuban with lettuce. He tried to take it off, but it was melted into the cheese. Still, he really liked his sandwich. Next time, though, he'll ask for no lettuce. I had the club sandwich - grilled rye bread (which isn't my favorite, but it was good) with lots of ham and turkey & a side of seafood salad that was a little dry. One friend had the Cali bowl with ahi tuna - on greens instead of rice (watching her carbs). She enjoyed every bite. Her husband had the fish tacos and gumbo. He did not leave one bite behind. We all tasted his Pabst Blue Ribbon coffee/beer. Tasted just like a YooHoo! I could drink more than one. But I abstained this time. I'm watching my carbs, too! Our waitress was accommodating and friendly. She was awesome! Sitting outside was pleasant, even if it was hot. But it was WAY too loud inside, and inside was more open air than air conditioned. I did say this is more of a bar than restaurant, didn't I? We'll probably be back for the fantastic service and the food. They have lots of other things to try. After a day at the springs my husband and I were looking for a local place along our ride back home down US 19 and boy am I glad I found this place! Thanks to my trusty fellow yelpers' reviews we picked this place. It was exactly what we were looking for. A nice, chill restaurant with outdoor seating. We were greeted quickly and sat where we wanted. Our waitress was nice, knowledgeable and patient. Our food came out pretty quickly which was perfect because we had worked up quite the appetite! Came here after seeing on their Facebook page they had 1lb crab legs for $26.99. The first time we went here we were lucky they had crab legs. It's only as a special because they only serve fresh! They were delicious! They just went through new ownership but you wouldn't notice. Everything is still the same. We had great service and although it was blazing hot outside they do their best with a ton of fans to try and keep it bearable. It's a local watering hole that happens to have great food and staff. The people that complain on here about the establishment not having fried food should have checked the menu if that is such a big deal to them. One of these days when the weather cools off I'm looking forward to sitting at one of the back tables over looking the canal. For now we will continue to sit at the bar. read more

They try to keep it cool with all the fans they can muster but it is still warm on a hot summer day. Their seafood is fresh and good! We went for lunch on a quiet Wednesday. The food was excellent. We got a full serving of the Oysters Bienville and the whipped Feta. The oyster were cooked perfectly and the flavor of the topping was excellent! They do charge a small surcharge for using a credit card. read more

This is currently one of the highest rated bars/restaurants in Port Richey, which is why we met here. After our experience, I have difficulty grasping that rating. The Nauti Oar opens at 11 AM daily. It closes at 9 PM Sunday thru Thursday & at 10 PM Friday & Sunday. Our food was subpar. The cup of French Onion Soup ($4.99) would have been very good had it not contained WAY too much salt. I swapped it out for Tuscan Soup (same price), which (w/ its large, flavorful sausage pieces) would also have been very good if not for the misplaced flakes of red pepper-- which turned what's normally a mellow soup into a very spicy one. (Tuscan is normally made w/ black pepper.) The steamed clam entree ($11.99) w/ a piece of garlic bread was lousy-- the tiniest, rubbery, flavorless clams I've ever consumed. They appeared to be boiled, although I did see a small amount of butter underneath (also w/o flavor). The garlic slice was lukewarm & very chewy. My lunch guest ordered the Cuban ($10.99). It was very messy, which made it difficult to eat. There was nothing spectacular about it, although it was accompanied by a small serving of Coleslaw, which was good. On the menu are 16 Handhelds, 5 Sides, 9 non-alcoholic Beverages, 2 Desserts, 10 "From the Sea" entrées, 11 Appetizers, 5 "Greens" (salads), & a "Soup of the Day." (On our visit, Onion, Tuscan, & Clam Chowder were available.) The covered front patio has four tables while the more private back patio has three-- see pics. There's an inside bar. Music played continuously; it was so loud that holding a conversation on the front patio was difficult. Live music is offered-- phone for the schedule. Thursday is Music Trivia Night. Football plays on the inside TVs all day every day during the season. I counted 20 beers on tap. Drink specials are available, as well as food specials on wings, mussels, etc. Our server Jaclyn was very good. Will we return? NO. Even though this bar/restaurant has a 4.5 star overall rating, there was nothing that made it special to us. It was disappointing. read more

I will associate all of the high ratings to probably locals... as while we sat there eating, lots of people drove by waving, numerous golf carts pulled up and parked to eat,etc... I suspect this place is frequented by the neighborhood folks as this little place is nestled in a cute little neighborhood. Personally, I won't be back. BUT, i can see the charm of why people like it. The Pro's: - Great, open air location. The main dining/bar area is covered but it's wide open on a couple sides with some patio seating - the waitresses were friendly - No wait time for a weekend lunch The Con's: - Food is just "ok" - No fryer, which means no fries (or any other fried food) - LOTS of smokers. Ash trays on every table. As a pair of non-smokers, we seated ourselves away from smokers but unfortunately ended up surrounded. Sorry but it's really hard to enjoy a meal when there's smoke blowing in your face from every direction - It's really more of a bar than a true restaurant Overall, I'd say it's a great place if you live in the neighborhood so you can walk home or have a local place to gather and party with your friends... but if you dont live here, i wouldn't bother. Absolutely amazing! That is literally the only way to describe our experience. It is a small location located nearby Main St NPR. We almost drove right passed it. Upon driving into the lot we were literally being waved hello to by the workers. I mean, sounds silly but this literally made us feel so welcomed and at home to a place we never even been too yet. It is a bar-ish scene inside (high top tables) but they do have outdoor seating areas that are great for families and they have a kids menu. If you choose the back patio area you can have nice view of the river! Our waitress Kiana was absolutely amazing, attentive and great with the kids. She literally made our already great experience so much better. The manager (maybe owner) also kept checking up on us to make sure everything was alright! The food was amazing! Not one complaint about anything we got the entire night. I personally had the chicken tacos, I will be honest I didn't expect much, now I can't wait to go back and have more! Everyone enjoyed their meals just as much (including the kids!). Our bonus for the night, we happened to come during Trivia night! On Monday's they do trivia and it was a blast so much fun!
