I have been seeing Dr. Nick off and on for 12 years. Every time I see him he performs magic on my neck and back, especially my neck...which sounds like a jackhammer when it gets popped back in place! One of the things I love about seeing him is how he fixes me up and sends me on my way. No sales gimmicks or pressure to get on a frequent schedule. It's the exact opposite from every other chiropractor I've seen and exactly why I will only see Dr. Nick. Recently, I was experiencing a locked neck and tight right hip/glutes. I looked up Back 'n Place to make an appointment on a Friday but was shocked to see that they had moved from the very convenient Hancock location and the office was closed on Friday. I texted the number anyway and was relieved to get an appointment on Saturday morning at their new South Congress location. I was worried about this new location but after going there, I like it even more. They had free parking on South Congress, which is unheard of and the office was modern and clean. Place is the ideal Chiropractor spot! The combo of hands on / machinery treatment here is great. (They have X-ray machines to give proper diagnosis / baseline first) then, treatments start w/stem (muscle stimulator) then do hands on targeted manual therapy/myofascial release , (similar to Airrosti approach without the tears!) THEN after the priming, they adjust you before finishing w/letting you lay on a fancy roller massaging table that decompresses your spine. BTW this is not a paid ad/ employee fluff/ they're just awesome! This place has been a blessing for me. I was suffering from a very severe back and leg pain, which I know was because of the alignments issues. I love that they have walk-ins and you can go at your convenient time. The receptionist is super sweet and helped me fill my paper work during my first visit. During the first visit the doctor take a x-ray of your body and concerned areas followed by electric muscle stimulation , adjustments and back massage on a sleeping table. Before this place, I have used the services of The Joint, but they are quick without even knowing the exact problem or concern. Dr Nick and the other doctor(can't remember his name), both are awesome. They give you a very personal attention listing to your concerns and problem areas and then defining a plan.They are extremely friendly & very professional. I have been going quiet regularly now and with just 4 adjustment I could really feel the difference ! They nicely work on the affected muscles first followed by adjustment.My stubborn lower spin and leg pain is almost gone. It was not allowing me to sleep at night, but thanks to the Dr I am much better now. I am definitely going to keep up with my routine to avoid sever pains in future. Dr Nick is very knowledgable, kind, and wonderful! He always takes his time with you. Dr. Nick is very caring and really wants to help you feel great. When I first went there I had so much pain I could hardly move. Now within a few weeks I started exercising again. The staff there is very caring and helpful. I work in south Austin and live in north Austin and sometime the drive is very long with the traffic. I still think the drive is worth it. 3 for an average experience. I really wish I could say that I had a life-changing experience from this visit. I came in for a stop-n-pop because my shoulders and neck have been bothering me. Many reviews rave about Dr. Nick but I didn't get him, unfortunately. It was reaaaal quick. The entire thing (minus paperwork) lasted around 10-15 mins and cost $45. I felt a little better afterward but I'm not sure if it was because I was just trying to convince myself that it was worth the cost. Apparently, it used to cost $35 --which I think is more fair since it's meant to be a quick adjustment. I looked around at other chiropractics afterward and found better deals that offer more for less or the same cost so I don't think I will be returning to this place! Again, this review is solely based on the stop-n-pop. I'm sure that their actual consultations are better! read more

Simply great. Walked right in without an appointment and Madi the receptionist was there to happily greet me. I slapped a little money down on the counter and she took me into the back immediately to get fixed right up. Dr. Nick was a super cool guy! He did a quick yet thorough examination of me and then set me on the table to work his magic. A few good pops and cracks later I was feeling as good as new. I would highly recommend this place. They take walk-ins, it's reasonably priced, and Dr. Nick is professional, personable, efficient, and great at what he does! I came in to get an adjustment after exacerbating a recurring back injury. I let with so much more! I told Dr. Nick that I was in a hurry because I had to get back to work. He was very efficient and asked my permission to do a variety of treatments and gave me a breakdown of exactly how long each part would take. With my insurance, I only had to pay a $25 copay which included an x-ray so Dr. Nick could look at my spine, some sort of electrode machine that helped relax my back muscles, and an adjustment! Dr. Nick is always friendly, takes the time to listen to what's going on, and has much better memory that I do, somehow he can remember details much better than I. While I never feel rushed he is also very quick and efficient. Before I came to see him I was in a great deal of pain on a constant daily basis. On my first visit he was able to x-ray, come up with and begin a treatment plan. I started out 3 times a week at first, then decreased to twice, then weekly, followed by every 2 weeks, and now I go as needed due to work. With COVID-19, I had to move to working from home, like most people. As a result of that, and not an ideal sitting environment, my back started to hurt A LOT. I've experienced lower back pain here and there throughout my life, and as I've gotten older, the bones ain't what they used to be. That being said, I knew I needed to get some help. Dr. Nick has helped me tremendously. Back issues are not a quick fix situation and it isn't something that will be remedied after one adjustment. I called Back 'n Place and had no issue getting an appointment. They also take my insurance and that was a nice help (shout out to BCBSTX). After some x-rays and discussion of my ailments, I was put on a treatment plan to tackle my back. They do a good job of making sure to wipe everything down after each person, and everyone wears a mask. Dr. Nick will also talk to you about at-home things to help supplement the adjustments, but you just have to know that it takes time. I came in with a pain that was chronic and whether I was sitting or standing, I could feel the pain in my back. Now, after a few weeks, I only have pain when I move certain ways. It isn't anything unmanageable and I can definitely feel the difference. everything is moving in the right direction. I have them to thank for that. Would definitely recommend. read more
