This is specific to the location in Bastrop. I've been there a few times, as I'm one that has to be hurting to take care of myself. Today they had someone filling in, which was fine. He was very nice and got the job done. Like usual I went to see the ladies in the back who do pressure points and such to help release the muscles to hold the adjustment. Each time it's been very uncomfortable, which was expected since it's acupressure not a massage. However, today I happened to ask the girl who worked on me what kind of certification was needed to do what they do. This is when she proceeded to tell me that they don't have certifications, they just "google" how to do things. I think my mouth dropped. I was thinking, what the heck! Are you serious that no one has even taken a class on acupressure to know where to press and how deep! I will definitely think twice before getting more than an adjustment here. So to clarify: the chiropractic work is 5 stars but I was pretty disappointed at learning about the pressure point ladies, hence the 3 stars. read more

Just got back home from my procedure. So many months of agony and pain I had to endure because of these crooks. Hopefully the pain that JAY HEATH directly caused on me will be gone for good after i recover. What's the sound a duck makes? This place is an absolute joke. I went there three times a week, for a couple weeks, following a car accident. They barely did anything, and what they did was absolutely wrong. I have several herniated discs in my spine... and these people's response was to, first, use this dumb tool called an "activator". It's a little spring-loaded weight that taps you. It causes about as much pressure as having a sugar packet fall on your lap. It doesn't do anything. Then they put me on a "TENS" unit and put heating packs on me. If inflammation is part of the problem, you NEVER apply heat. You want ice to reduce the swelling. All told, my appointments lasted about ten minutes. No information on what to do at home to help, no actual adjustment, and applying heat to inflammation. I think the only reason my appointments even lasted that long was just so they could justify billing insurance. And if that's all they were doing, just had me sit in a chair, and told me I could leave when the timer went off, I'd probably have been better off because I felt successively worse after each visit. My doctor was horrified when I told him what was going on, because he's the one who referred me to them. He quickly found a competent chiropractor and I finally feel like I'm on the road to recovery. I cannot say it strongly enough that I would never recommend this place to anyone. Again, it's not that they didn't do anything, it's that they actually made my problems worse. I would only recommend sending someone here if I was a complete sociopath. read more

Having never been to a chiropractor, I came in to Kapsner a little skeptical of chiropractic in general. I was encouraged on my first visit that there didn't seem to be any balancing of auras or any other snake oil, but I didn't expect much in terms of relief from my lower back pain. After just three visits over two weeks, my back feels better than it has in quite some time. Dr. Heath is obviously well-versed in the musculoskeletal system, and he's really soft-spoken and unobtrusive. Chad and Danny, the chiropractic assistants, are literally on point with the trigger point therapy. It's a little painful at the time, but fully worth the relief it gives. The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful. If you're a little iffy about chiropractic care, give Kapsner a shot. Do not sit in the office and talk about your personal stuff and what is important to get done before you go on your date or out for the night and then say oh by the way I need you to fill out some paper work we forgot to have you do after I had already been there twenty minutes. I have been seeing Dr. Neblett in the S. Lamar location for a little over a month now for a bad herniated disc which is protruding on my sciatic nerve. When I first went to visit him on March 4, 2009 I was in INTENSE pain and couldn't sit, stand or walk for more than a few feet without savage repercussions. My fiance almost had to carry me into his office. I feel comfortable saying that Dr. Neblett has changed my life. He was the only one of 3 doctors who took action and sent me to get an MRI and then started me on the path to being "myself" again. Dr. Neblett is one of those rare doctors who will listen to you, work with your needs and has complete empathy with what you are going through. After a bad chiropractic experience elsewhere years ago, I feel confident singing his praises to the whole world. The staff at Kapsner is incredible as well. By my 2nd visit they were calling me by name and doing everything they could to make me comfortable. I look forward to the days when I have an appointment. When I think back to the way I almost crawled into Kapsner Chiropractic weeks ago and how I am feeling now, I am amazed. I have been seeing Dr. Heath and his team here for a few months (they just moved to a new location). They are professional and extremely nice. I have visited some questionable chiropractors in the past and was nervous to try. You can do a walk-in appointment at anytime and I have never had to wait more than about 15 minutes. I get regular massages there, which are great! They make sure that you are comfortable and they also try and educate you about your body with suggestions of stretches and other things to do at home in between appointments. I have been going to Chiropractors for over a decade and Dr. Fluitt is one of my top picks. He is concerned about your over all health and works with you to improve your condition rather than maintain lower pain level. He knows how to work your spine/body to release pressure and tension. As for the support staff they are just as supportive. I enjoy Jill and she appears to have the back area under control even when there are kids running around. Niki up front knows her stuff as well. I have only visited the Bastrop location but their calls roll over to this location. The customer service is TERRIBLE. Communication is nonexistent in this practice. The first time I called to schedule an appointment, my call rolled over to this location but they don't tell you that on the phone. So I schedule my appointment and no one asks me which location I'm going to be at. On my way to my appointment, I call to confirm and they don't have me scheduled. They keep me on hold for a ridiculous amount of time and then inform me that they scheduled me at the wrong location. Fine. It happens. But now I can't be adjusted today because the scheduling was incorrect. Fast forward a couple of weeks when I decide to try them out again. This time I made sure to tell them which location I was scheduling (again they didn't ask; I told them) and all seemed to be fine. Until I get to the office and they inform me that Dr. Payne is on vacation and a Dr. Stowell would be adjusting me today. (See my review of the Bastrop location to hear about that experience) Again... something that should have been said on the initial phone call! I'm pretty patient when it comes to these sorts of things but it's clearly the culture of this practice to be uncommunicative. I will not be returning. If another center is going to be receiving the phone calls, they need to have their ducks in a row and walk their patients through the details so that they don't lose business like they have with me. read more

He asked the right questions and worked his magic. I then followed up with Dr. Snow for adjustments, who was also friendly and pleasant. I left Austin in 2011 and recently found myself returning. I started seeing Kevin in December of 2015 for an existing lower back injury I had. The catalyst for the visit was I ended up bed ridden for 2 weeks after causing a bulging disc to be come a problem again. This was truly one of the worst pains I have experienced and thought for sure surgery would be the only fix. Kevin had me bring in records and catch him up from my military experience and the injuries leading up to this. I've done a lot of rigorous ruck marching and combatives that ultimately lead to this. After a full evaluation he put on a twice a week program to get my body right again. He notices other areas that we could correct as well that we're follow on issues from the original. The first visit got my walking again and the second visit i felt 90% again. I have been doing regular visits since then and feel like a million dollars. Don't believe the lies! Treatment is very loosely used to describe Kapsner. Yes the staff is friendly and the place is nice but this is a ruse. It will lull you into a state of confidence and security. The billing is not up front and honest! It is devious and underhanded! They will charge you whether your insurance covers it or not. If your insurance doesn't cover the treatment, they will lie and tell you that your provider approved. Then, months later, when you least expect it, you are hit with a huge bill. I mean in the $1000s! All the while they "treated" nothing and you are more broken down physically and financially than before. GO TO A REAL DOCTOR IF YOU ARE IN PAIN! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Fluitt in the South Clinic off S. Lamar. I've seen chiropractors before where the treatment was less than enjoyable. ( from the staff to the doctor) I was SO impressed with Dr. Fluitt he is a little younger than the other doctors however sill extremely professional and makes me enjoy going to the chiro not to mention he's great at adjustments. In July of 2014, I injured my lower back on a job and frantically looked around South Austin for a chiropractor that would accept my insurance. I am so glad I found Kapsner Clinics, and I would definitely recommend to anyone! The front desk staff is friendly and polite, the wait time was never too long, and Dr Fluitt was always so helpful. He answered any questions I had and was quick to offer suggestions. The staff is also great! I can't remember her name, but the woman at the South Lamar location is a hoot! She definitely made the ten minutes of elbow-in-the-butt-muscle go by quicker. (Imagine a sports massage, but in your glutes. It doesn't tickle is all I'm saying!) The only downside I would say is you can tell they have a lot of patients. I needed a letter to give to work and they typed up one saying I was a man in a car accident! But I emailed them and they quickly corrected it. I have never felt like a number to them and they are always so attentive though. Great place, would highly recommended! read more
