It takes a village... and their Voodoo Doctor! It had been a few years since I had gone to a chiropractor. My regular massage therapist was moving on and didn't really have time for me any longer. My sister and my boss had been nagging me about trying acupuncture for my ailments. So the hunt began. I live off 1431 on the Round Rock/Cedar Park line, was I crazy to dream of a place that would have all of these in one location? I hoped not! I was having to take time off from work due to pain and it was time to get it addressed. When I went to my regular doctor she seemed to have little hope for my pain. X-rays and an MRI showed that I have arthritis, bulging discs, possible un-addressed scoliosis and degenerative disc disease, I was sent immediately to a neurosurgeon. "There is nothing else." I was told by my doctor. Reluctantly, I went to the surgeon. To my relief and surprise he told me, while I have all of the above mentioned medical issues, I was not a candidate for surgery. Thank frickin' GOD! You gotta love an honest doctor! Whew, what a relief. So after some celebration, I settled back to realize I am still in a lot of pain! What am I going to do about that? Enter Dr. Clinton...she runs this village. She is very attentive and detailed when addressing your pain and she is far more than just a chiropractor. She is a wealth of information when it comes to living a better and pain free life. She also offers mini physical therapy sessions after each adjustment. Woo hoo! Love these! I decided to add massage as a regular part of my recovery and maintenance. Natalie, Katherine, and Yvette have worked together and with the doctor to move my recovery forward. I have had several massages over the years and the skill level of these three ladies is top notch. There is actual therapy taking place. I would not be as far along as I am without their assistance. If you plan on at least a monthly massage sign up for the monthly program, you get all of your 60 min. massages for $50 each. Soon Dr. Clinton directed me to their new addition Dr. Chen aka The Voodoo Doctor. Dr. Chen is a 4th generation acupuncturist from Taiwan. He has been instrumental in my recovery and reducing my pain. I am not a fan of needles and never imagined in a million years that I would do acupuncture, but I am glad I did. He is very caring and gentle. I cannot even explain it without sounding like a crazy person. It is just plain voodoo, I don't know how else to explain it! I give all of these folks 5 Stars. If you are tired of juggling all of your medical issues on your own and you are looking for a village to care for you, this is the place. I LOVE Backbone. I went to Dr. Schwab because I just wasn't feeling great and thought maybe they could help me with my energy level and a few other issues. It was a great experience! First and foremost, Dr. Schwab, Dr. Clinton and all of their staff are so positive and upbeat that I keep wanting to go back for more. Dr. Schwab did a little testing and then started me on a detox cleanse that I though was going to be so hard. Stacie walked me through the cleanse, and much to my surprise not only was it not too difficult, but I felt better than I had felt in a long time and the bonus was I lost 12 pounds. I SO love going to Back Bone...everything about being there is wonderful...the energy in the office is awesome. I've had an ear infection for almost a month with the usual antibiotics and no results which isn't a surprise since I have these issues quite a bit. The only other route seemed to be tubes and I am not inclined to go that route. Monday afternoon Dr. Clinton worked on me for a second time (adjustment and accupunture) - about 9 p.m. I yawned and my ears opened up. By the next morning the tender glands in my neck weren't so tender and I can actually hear the traffic on the street in front of my office. Even that is just fine - I can hear!!! I started going to Dr. Schwab for chiropractic a few months after my son was born because my hips rotated severely during L&D. She listened to my concerns and came up with a plan that had me back in the gym doing my normal workouts with a month of my first appointment. This was huge because when I first went in, I could barely bend over without experiencing extreme lower back/glute pain. Dr. Schwab, along with Katherine (massage therapist) are miracle workers. I started coming to see Dr. Clinton about 5 years ago and then took a break for a while (insurance coverage ran out). I recently had my back seize up so badly I couldn't move. I called them and they instantly adjusted their schedule to get me in for a massage and adjustment that day. I've since seen three different massage therapists and all have been excellent. A great wellness Center. I've been seeing Dr. Clinton for a little over a year now. She has helped me with chronic back and neck pain. She is very knowledgeable and is able to prescribe an array of adjunct therapies to help, be they massage, acupuncture, or diet and nutrition. Her staff is courteous and professional and the wellness spa, Flourish, has excellent therapists. I never thought I would ever go to a chiropractor, but after suffering excruciating neck and shoulder pain since November 2020, I decided to try it. Dr. Schwab is absolutely WONDERFUL! I have been coming here less than 2 months, and my pain has diminished significantly! A surgeon wanted to fuse the disks in my neck.
