We got an xl pizza and couldn't eat half of it bc it was so soggy in the middle it was almost gagging. Decent amount of toppings but bland crust. We used to visit the old location occasional, but we really wanted to try the new location. I've watched it being built that seemed to take forever :). So, our visit was on a Friday evening about 5PM, a day after the big storm that took power out for a lot of people around Htown. The menu goes on forever. But our goal was pizza and we stuck to our plan. The pizza was excellent. While waiting, I went and got a menu to see what other items looked good. There is a ton of options and everything that I saw on other tables looked great. I was amazed how well the staff worked together on getting orders to the people and tables cleaned for the next family. We will definitely be back and suggest others to give it a try. Next time, hamburgers and wings will be on the agenda since they looked delicious. The prices are completive with other restaurants and the beer is ice cold from a full bar. Congrats to the Backdoor owners for putting such a great place together. Your hard work will pay off with all the growth going on in NW Htown. I like to see success and you will have it. read more

So, let me start by saying we drove out for about an hour to get to this place from Houston. Went to the new location on a Saturday night. The food was not that good. Ordered cheese sticks, lemon pepper wings, chicken Alfredo, and XL Bronx, which included Italian sausage, pepperoni, Canadian bacon and mozzarella. The cheese sticks were pretty much microwaved, frozen mozzarella sticks served with cold marinara sauce. The wings were bland, dry with store bought lemon pepper seasoning. The Alfredo was decent but was given 4 little slices of chicken, added charge for chicken. Came with garlic knots that were bland and seasoned with dried oregano. The pizza was the better part but the crust was again bland, not the best texture. The restaurant was roomy, plenty of people, different sports games to watch on tons of TVs. The service was unfortunately the worst part. Most of the staff appeared to be school aged and probably would have preferred to be somewhere else on a Saturday night. Cashier was not eager to get my order, had a noticeable annoyance when asked a question about the menu and I kept on having to correct my order. Thought it was just me but when hubby went to ask for silverware when we received our food with nothing to eat it with, was met with the same annoyance. There was really only 1 server, new job, who was busting her butt to serve the majority of the restaurant and was genuinely friendly. Everyone else had the same annoyed attitude with any request or inquiry. So, in short, would say if it's a drive for you to come, there are plenty of better options close by. If you live in the area, stick to the pizza and ask for sauce to dip your crust when you get to it. Also bring cash to tip the servers that actually serve you. read more

Calling to order took less than a minute. Same for pickup, though the staff wasn't super friendly...kind of aloof but they're HS/college age so whatever. I have teens. I get it. Lol The pizza was pretty good! Loved the garlic flavor of the crust, fresh toppings, and the sauce wasn't overpowering. We really liked it a lot. Four stars. Removed a star for no masks. :/ Four employees were in the store: two with no masks; two with their masks slung under their chins. Incidentally they were the ones making/boxing the food. We're under a state-wide mask order... Follow the law so we're all safer and can get back to normal sooner. read more

This place hits the spot. Not only does their pizza get the job done, they've got a lot more on the menu. You'd think that a place that has additional food items on the menu in addition to being a pizza joint would be mediocre but not here. First off the my go to pizzas are the Brooklyn and the Bronx. Get up on some of that. If your not in the mood for pizza, try the Manhattan calzone. That's super tasty and reminds me of when I lived in New York. Not in the mood for marinara, get up on some of their wings. They can stand tall next to any wing joint around. This family owned restaurant does it right and they put pride into the food they make. Prices are good and they always have sports/news on the tv in the dining area. One day I will try their super large pizza and get my name on the wall. read more

Wow! People in the area, have a really good eatery here. I met a friend and was not expecting much of this place. Boy, was I wrong! The pizza was excellent. They even had a cauliflower crust. I added pepperoni & mushrooms. Fresh mushrooms, not canned. And a thicker pepperoni than I'm used to. And it was piled on. Every bite had both. My friend had a cheeseburger. It looked really juicy. She said it was the best she's had in a while. So, now I have to make the trek from Katy to enjoy this food. read more

Who would have thought that a tiny tiny town has the best pizza around! I'm from PA and cannot find any pizza remotely close to pizza from Italian stores up north. Backdoor Pizza has the best pizza and their hoagies (and steak sandwiches) are top notch!! Everything we've tried is fresh, flavorful and so good!! This place has amazing food, a cute atmosphere and is our go to for pizza and hoagies. We love eating at Backdoor pizza before Waller football games. I came here one day after visiting my client's site. There aren't many food options in the area, and you pretty much have to drive toward the Grand Parkway for decent food choices. But if you don't wanna drive 4-5 miles, this place isn't bad. I chose the cheeseburger special since it was the Monday special for about $7.75. The burger normally comes with American cheese and they don't have cheddar, so I subbed for jalapeño jack. Their fries are just seasoned frozen french fries which aren't bad, but they aren't fresh cut either. I also added a brownie, since they were obviously homemade and displayed on the same baking rack they came out of the oven in. The brownie was really tasty and pretty rich as well. If you like chocolate, I highly recommend trying this. Yes, it's a long way out to Hockely, but it's one of the better brownies in the Houston area. I wish I could say good things about the burger, but the texture and taste tells me it is a previously frozen patty that they season with a lot of salt and cook well done. Not my type of burger. I'll try the pizza next time I come, since a lot of people in the dining room were ordering this and it looked delicious. read more

I wanted to add another review. My wife and I usually order the Brooklyn pizza, we have also had the calzones and Gyros. Today we ordered a meatball 12" Parmigiana, 12" Philly Cheesesteak and a chicken sandwich. Everything we have ordered has always been awesome, fresh and taste great. I love a good Gyro and Philly Cheesesteak and backdoor makes a really good one! These are a must try! I love this place, prices are very good and portions are large. I could of been happy and full with a 6" sandwich but it was so good I forced myself to finish the 12" Philly cheesesteak. So good! I personally called and spoke with Victor 5the manager on duty to tell him how good his food and service is and that I am a repeat customer. Whenever we order we always call in and ask to have it ready at a set time so we can pick up on way home. They always take the orders and have them ready on time. So glad we got this place in our little town of Hockley. Of course it is also right next to a great dive bar Jimbo's road house. Great place to also have a beer and hang out. We enjoyed Backdoor Pizza. Little Bit and I shared a pepperoni pizza. DH had a Italian hoagie. We are hoping next time we can ask them to heat it. That would make it fantastic. The fries were a little bit too salty, but still good. It's not fast-food, be patient. It's worth waiting for and it was worth the drive. Ordered 20" Brooklyn. Ingredients and dough was very fresh and tasted good. Only issue we had was we ordered the pizza with extra sauce, (which they charged $1.25 extra) but when we got home and ate the pizza, there was hardly any sauce on the pizza at all. Pizza was ok but bland without any sauce and upsetting to be charged extra and not get what was requested. This is the second time this has happened. Gave three stars because the ingredients, cashiers were friendly and pizza was ready on time. read more

When my Mom suggested this place for pizza Sunday afternoon I immediately Yelped it and was stoked to see such high reviews. We pull in and it's definitely a hole in the wall, hiding behind a biker bar. When walking in I was hit by a musky smell, which was kind of a turnoff, but I powered through it. If Yelp says it's good, then it must be, right? So, we ordered a large Works, a large half pepperoni half beef, and an order of mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were really good, not out of this world, but really good. Then the pizzas came out and as mentioned in other reviews, the outer crust was really yummy and so were the ingredients, but the crust under the pizza was so thin that it just became really soggy under the ingredients. We couldn't even pick the slices up, because it was so soggy it just fell apart. Needless to say, I was pretty disappointed. Then the kids finished up with ice cream bars, but I got 2 cannolis as recommended to me by another patron awaiting their pizza. These things were incredible! I mean, the cream was just so good, crispy shell, lightly dusted with powdered sugar and somewhere in there was a hint of cinnamon. Just superb! The staff was very friendly and overall it wasn't a horrible experience. I wanted to give them more stars because of the friendly staff and delicious cannolis, but I kinda feel like if it says pizza in the name, then the pizza is the number one thing that needs to be on point, and it just wasn't. But, with that being said, I will still definitely be back to give them another shot. And I'll hopefully be back here on Yelp to update my review! read more
