Been coming here for years now. I remember back in the day ordering delivery and the owner Tony came to deliver it himself. Now the restaurants looks the same, but I don't see Tony anymore. Today I got the fresh mozzarella, chicken, tomato spinach pizza (4.5/5): the toppings are phenomenal. I saw the chicken and I didnt think it looked great, but it was delicious. The perfect amount of mozzarella. I liked the amount of spinach but felt like I got some older spinach as it was kind of tough. The tomatoes were really good. The pizza was cooked beautifully, with a really nice crunch to it. However the dough itself was a little disappointing. It didn't have that softness on the inside. And the flavor was a little on the bland side. I would still recommend Tony's and I'm hoping the crust was just an off day. read more

Nestled in a strip center, Tony's makes 28" pizzas if you're looking to have a party!!! Sheesh! We decided to order a half and half - half pepperoni and jalapeño and half sausage, bell peppers and onions, and it did not disappoint! A bit on the greasy side tho, but flavors and ingredients were spot on! I appreciated the friendly service as well! A good place to order from if you're looking to feed a large crowd and the prices are super reasonable compared to other pizza places! We also ordered a Caesar salad and mozzarella sticks! Our favorite locally owned pizza shop on Jones Road. Pizza sizes come in various sizes. Nothing like a Papa John's or Pizza Hut! The party size is 24 inch and we got to select how many slices we wanted based on the size. The taste is always good. Son loves pepperoni and we love either the all meat or supreme. Both are delicious! The service is always good. The staff is nice and friendly and even will help you out to your vehicle for multiple Pizza orders or large size boxes. Owned by Tony Montana, Tony Shalhoub, and Tony The Tiger. In New York City I can name about 200 pizza places that I love. In Buffalo at least 100. In Detroit there's at least 50. Probably more. Sadly when it comes to Houston Pizza there's probably less than five that I would tell you to go and actually try. And in the case of those five it's because they actually managed to make pizza the way New York or New Jersey makes pizza. So it's not so much that Houston Pizza is great, but the places that can reasonably recreate the deliciousness of New York Pizza are the ones you should focus on, and they're few and far between. Tony's is one of those very rare places that can recreate the wonderful New York slice down here in Houston. I don't know why it's so hard to do, maybe people just don't have the high standards or the ingredients aren't as readily available, but Tony's slices would be very much at home in New York, and even if this was in New York I would give it a very high star rating. But considering that we're in Houston Texas, this is a glowing rec for this wonderful five star pizza slice restaurant, and you should get over here and try one as soon as possible if you miss New York pizza. read more

I definitely have to give them a solid four stars. They have some really good deals during the week. I believe even on Tuesday you can get a slice of pizza for $.99. That is an unbelievable deal. Food: I got the pizza and wing combo and I have to say it was pretty good. The pizza had a very unique flavor. I have to admit it was extremely greasy. The wings were pretty decent too. I was definitely a fan of the wings. I will come back and get them again. As far as freshness everything is very fresh and made the order. The pepperoni tastes really good as well. The cheese is full of flavor as well. I have to assume they are importing nothing but fresh ingredients here because everything is really good. New to Houston and missing pizza from back home in NJ/NY, I was in search of a decent pizza place. I saw all the good reviews and with "New York" in the name, this place sounded promising. Unfortunately, I left being very disappointed. I was really craving the crunchy delicious bite into a Sicilian pizza, the kind that I grew up with. I ordered a slice of that. Please refer to my picture, where the top picture is my expectation of a Sicilian pizza and the bottom picture is what I got. I'm not sure how they prepare their dough but that is not what I was looking for. I could barely finish the slice and ended up throwing it away. There are two other reasons why I'm giving a low rating. I wanted to order garlic knots and I was told they were completely out of it. I'm sorry, but what kind of pizza place is sold out of garlic knots at 4pm on a weekday? Wouldn't you be expecting your dinner customers to order some? Lastly, the employee pointed out the item in my last picture and offered these "calzones" instead. If I'm not mistaken, these are pinwheels and calzones are more like turnovers (pizza folded in). Just a small suggestion, but I think the employees need to be trained a little more on what they're selling. First time trying their pizza :) I ordered a 14inch , with pepperoni and it was great. The smell of that dough being baked and fired up sure is a great way to get your taste buds excited! The Pizza held up real nice , sauce was spot on, cheese , bread , everything a new york style slice should be. Pizza took about/less than 15min. I also ordered 2 of their chocolate chip cookies which were absolutely "to die for" I couldn't help but take a small nibble before the pizza XD. Very nice people working there too! Tony's New York Pizza is the typical neighborhood pizza place. Don't expect it to be luxurious, but the pizza is decent. My son loves it. I am not a New Yorker so I can't say it compares to Pizza from NYC, but I had pizza from Jersey and this doesn't compare. Everything is in the sauce. Tony's has been around so long I think they have been complacent and cater to the high school kids with less discerning taste buds. So, they don't put any extra love into their food, but the price is cheap so it's worth dropping in for a slice. read more
