Yep, a little pricier than your corner coffee spot, but honestly worth it. Both drinks were smooth and balanced -- the matcha was creamy, not bitter at all, while the lavender latte had that perfect floral hint without overpowering the coffee. Bonus: the latte art heart on top was simple but done with care, which tells you a lot about the barista. And speaking of service -- the barista was the highlight. I use the self serve wash. When I called I was told I can do walk in. When I got there they said no space for me as 2 people did walk in and I need an appt. I did make the appt in afternoon. Came in with my 19 lbs dog, they set up the water temp to Luke warm and small hand towel to dry my dog. Small towel only dey the face not the entire body of my dog. The vacuum Was crazy blowing that scared my dog. I didn't use it. When I'm paying - the cashier said to tap and take time and I saw they're asking for tips? Which is crazy. I did all the work. Anyway, I just need to was my dog and know to bring my own towel in my car to dry. read more

Stopped by for a cup of coffee while waiting for my takeout at the Lemon Tree down the street. I saw that Backporch Coffee Roasters had a honey lavender latte that caught my eye, so I stopped by to try one. The space inside is well designed, there is plenty of seating and this would be a great place to get some work done. The service here was solid. I hate to say this though, but the honey lavender latte (with an oat milk substitute) wasn't doing it for me. The coffee tasted really watered down. It lacked depth and didn't taste like coffee that would come from a brick-and-mortar store. This review is purely based off the one cup I ordered. The space is light, clean, and good for working or studying. There is a standard menu and a summer menu. I ordered a 12 oz Honey Lavender Latte. The drink came out quickly, however, the flavor and texture were off. The lavender flavor was very subtle. The coffee did not have much body and the drink was watery. Overall, giving Backporch Coffee Roasters a 3.5/5. The drink itself was disappointing. The service is quick, staff are nice, and ambiance is good for hanging out or studying/working. read more

Absolutely love the vibe in this place. Clean location, kind people, and decent coffee. Went here around 9:30 AM to grab some coffee. Was greeted by two of the kindest and friendliest baristas. They want me through the menu and told me everything I needed to know about their cold brew, espresso, and even a new product called flash coffee. I ended up getting a simple cappuccino. The drink was fine, the coffee was a little bit on the weaker side and didn't carry much flavor. All in all, the location and the service is really the reason for this place. Talking with locals who love coffee, Backporch comes up a staple that expanded. This location is in downtown Bend and feels geared toward a business crowd in the local area. Having visited a few other locations, this one just didn't feel as comfortable, with a cold vibe and bright lights. Their coffee however is consistently good; they offer a number of different roasts which information about where they come from. They offer many other bags of beans to go; plus other drinks and light pastries and breakfast items. Prices are on par with other smaller roasteries; for the quality it's worth it. They have a number of small indoor tables, but it seemed like most people got things to go. If you're in the area and craving genuinely good coffee, this is a great option. The service is great and the drinks are delicious. Lots of pastry options and non-coffee options as well. The ambience is great for getting work done. My only complaint is that the hours are not posted clearly on the front and the baristas did not let us know that they were closing until they were already closed. Have to say I was a little thrown off by my order here being $8. I ordered a medium iced chai with a shot of espresso. Firstly, the medium size seems tiny. Second, the price being so high when the chai comes from a syrup pump is funny. The flavor of the chai is very spicy and kinda gingerbread-y, it's a little much for me. If my drink were like $5 I probably wouldn't care but the fact that it was so expensive makes it not worth it. However, since this was my first time and I only tried one thing, I don't want to give a lower rating since this might've been a one-off experience. The shop itself has plenty of indoor seating and a really nice interior, as well as outdoor seating. The service was fine. If I were back in the area I'd consider coming back to try something else, but I'd probably rather just walk down the street to Thump. read more

Always going to get good coffee... Some people always have a checklist when you travel around on the weekend and one of ours is to try and get something new and interesting to share as we walk along. This was one of two places that stood out. We ended up trying both, and to be honest both of them were very good. They just offered two very different ideas of what a unique drink look like. Both of my gray coffee and this place stood out more in my opinion because of their combinations and what they put together as a signature drinks. It was great great ambience, clean bathroom, which is always a plus when you're out and about. Lots of seating room, friendly staff everything was quick and it was pretty slammed that weekend being that it's the arts festival. Grabbed a latte. Had a great time charged our phones. All the alt milks - oat, hemp, almond, coconut, etc and lots of different espresso. had the nitro cold brew and it was tasty. I stopped in for a quick afternoon americano when my brother, sister, and I were exploring downtown Bend a few weeks ago. Backporch is cute, hipster, and has great coffee. We sat for a few minutes while I enjoyed my americano, and the coffee shop is really cool with quite a few tables considering it's not large. It shares a bathroom with the other businesses in the building, so it has large bathrooms with multiple stalls. Overall, a great place for my afternoon pick me up!
