The restaurant was somewhat empty when I arrived but it can definitely house a large group of people if needed. The ambiance is very causal and welcoming. The food came out quickly. I did enjoy my food, but the chicken was a bit dry and lacked something maybe some seasoning or needing something pickled. Regardless, I ate it all, the collard greens tasted good but way better in some vinegar. Overall, the experience was good and I enjoyed my food. I'm thankful I found something to eat in this town outside of fast or fried food. Maybe next time I'll try their ribs or wings, depending what it's fried in.

I had the Pork Ribs - bite through tender, without falling apart, EXCELLENT bark - firm but not dry - and a deep smokey flavor throughout. My wife had the Half Chicken. It was moist - juicy - throughout, and seasoned to perfection. It's hard to get the light and dark meat done to the same level of tenderness without drying out the breast, but JL rocks it! The sides we had were Baked Beans (a solid entry) and a Vinegar/Pepper Cole Slaw that was addictive as a cold Coke on a hot day. DELICIOUS! JL takes walk up orders (very fast, very friendly service) or there is a pick up window for internet/call in orders.
