Went here with very high expectations for a no chip manicure. Got my nails dont by an asian gentlemen, he was sweet but it took 2 hours FOR NO REASON. Also, nails came out very choppy and uneven. I love this salon. Iuliana is by far the best esthetician. I followed her here from another salon and I can say it was the best decision I could have made. I see her for everything, eyebrows, bikini, and underarm. The wax that she uses make for a pretty pain free experience, not to mention she makes what can be an awkward situation very comfortable. She honestly does the best job. I also went to her for a facial and I can say my skin felt great after, can't wait for my next one. Iuliana is very kind and helpful and never pressures you into additional procedures like at other salons particularly chain ones. She is also flexible with scheduling appointments and responds very quickly. I highly recommend coming her to see Iuliana. Also the last time I was in I was able to get a no chip manicure. The salon is clean, the staff is so polite, professional and welcoming. They take their time to make sure the nail shape is even and exactly the way you like it. The price is so reasonable. Came here after following backstage on instagram for quite some time and admiring the work. I always had acrylic done by the same nail place for years and wanted to try something new (gel) so I decided to cheat on my nail girl and give backstage a shot. Victoria did an amazing job. You could tell she really cares about the work she does and took her time shaping the nails. She did a nice ombre look which I have always wanted to get. I was recently recommended to go to this salon by a friend when I was in search for the perfect place to get my nails done for my wedding. I recently got married in the beginning of September and I went to backstage nails a few days before my wedding. Let me just say... WOW! They did such an amazing job. I got the gel w/no chip w/ a special design in mind. My nails turned exactly how I wanted and I received a lot of compliments. Not only are their prices reasonable but they actually care about the work they are doing. You can tell they take pride in their work and they are so friendly and accommodating (unlike a lot of salons I have encountered in the past). I recently came to Backstage as a last minute saving grace. VERY limited salons provide real gel nail extensions, also known as european gel, liquid gel or pure gel. Brisa CND Gel is what is used absolutely no powders, no fake nail tips or nail machines. They are a relatively new salon. That being said they haven't found their "groove" yet. Meaning it isn't warm and amazing feeling. A little outdated on the art/decor, too much open space and a little sterile feeling. No welcoming scents or high energy (while I was there). It looks as if they just opened with the bare minimum which isn't the worst thing but if you are looking for that "Spa" feeling this isn't the place. They do an amazing job at designs. If you look for a picture of something you want most likely these girls can do it for you. I really would give 5 stars on the gel nails and the designs, however due to only have mine on for a week and 1 day two nails already cracked. I am not rough on my hands anymore so other than dishes and light typing they should hold up for a few weeks. Since I couldn't return to have the rest removed due to living far and having a busy schedule I had to go to a chop shop open late to remove them. I do not advise someone who doesn't know this type of gel system to remove them so if you commit to having these nails commit to having the salon remove them. Trust me. read more

I love love love love love this place! I work close by and visited there about 2 months ago to get a mani/pedi! Figured I'd get one done before heading back to Indiana (where I live). I was greeted immediately with a warm welcome and within the first minute or so, I knew this salon wasn't like most. The cleanliness along with the friendly staff and amazing products had me feeling like a million bucks! During my pedicure, Iuliana walked up to me and introduced herself. She was very soft spoken, sweet, and very welcoming. I was shocked to hear since I was a first time guest, I could receive an eyebrow or bikini wax, for FREE! I was excited since I was planning on going to visit my sisters in California that weekend! I've never received a bikini wax - always wanted to, so decided to choose that. Since this was my first time, ever, Iuliana explained everything about waxing. Explained hard wax vs soft wax, the different kinds of pain levels, items used during the waxing process and explaining that she has seen it all and there is no shame in any of our game. :) We are there to feel sexy, clean, & beautiful and she is there to do just that! :) I went from walking in the salon thinking I was going to get a mani/pedi to walking out with a full blown Brazilian wax. I mean all gone! I went there yesterday for my "second appointment" and again, such an experience. I have recommended her to every single friend of mine (men included)! She's great. Love this place! It's clean, Zukhra is awesome and they do serious quality work with a great European gel. Have never been to a nail place in chicago better than this and I've tried many places over the last 8-9 years. I'm a regular customer now and have gone 5 or so times so far, nails are perfection every time and they last forever! I do the gel over my own nails and only come in every 3 weeks because they grow so fast, otherwise they still look perfect a month later. I've never had to wait when I made an appt either.
