Out of towner here whose main nail care is a pedicure every 3 months. My sister-in-law took me and my mom out for a girls day Christmas week and what a fun experience. We each got our nails done and honestly if the experience was like this back home I'd get my nails done way more often! The nail techs were ready for us when we got there even on Christmas Eve Eve. My mom was seated first, then me 3 minutes later then my SIL 2 minutes after me. I'm not chatty at all when I get these services done and I loved the way my tech was on that wave too. Mom and SIL love to talk and were deep in convo with their techs. The manicure itself was thorough - my insolent cuticles were tamed and removed with ease - and the polish job itself was great. I mostly avoid manicures because I chip the polish in 24 hours but here we are 5 days later and my fingers still look like shiny disco balls. Why I would return: -comfortable seating at the nail tables. Sturdy with room for ample bottoms -friendly and efficient service. There is NO NEED to be at a nail salon for hours. We were out in 45 min max including dry time. -welcoming reception. I love seeing my people when I'm out and she was very warm and inviting. So much so when I told people where we went to get our nails done they asked if she was working. -good job on the polish. Clean lines, no smudge, long/lasting. -NO CHEMICAL SMELLS. From a customer side this was nice - I'm sure from an employee side it's even better. -Super clean and modern. Sometimes nail shops can be worn down. I decided to try You & Co Nails when the nail salon near me closed. It is a cute, clean, welcoming nail salon located just South of the main square in Lincoln Square. Appointments: They are an incredibly busy nail salon, so I highly recommend making an appointment if you're thinking about getting a service done. They do take walk-ins, but you may have to wait. Service: I have now been to You & Co 4 times. Interestingly, I have learned that my experience differs quite a bit depending on the tech I get. The first time I visited was in the summer because I had a gift certificate. Sadly, my first time was not a great experience. I told the tech that I had ingrown toe nails. She did take care of it, but within a day, my toenail was infected, was painful, and had pus coming out. I almost didn't return. Then, when my salon closed, I decided to give You & Co another shot, since they have overwhelmingly positive reviews, and my first experience could have been a fluke. I wish I got the name of my nail tech for this second one because she did such an incredible job. My gel mani and pedicure were meticulously done, and my no-chip lasted for over 3 weeks. The third time, I had a guy, who was also meticulous. However, he recommended no more than 2 coats on my gel manicure. I get the reasoning so that my nails don't look thick, but unfortunately, my nails started chipping in less than a week. My pedicure lasted for over a month though! The last time I went in December, they were really informative in helping me with some fun holiday nails. I opted for the cat eye nail polish, which I loved. What I generally appreciate about You & Co is that they are quick but mostly detail-oriented. If you're busy, this is great. read more

The salon itself is clean, and they take seem to take both those who have made reservations as well as walk-ins; there was definitely a steady stream of clients that came in! I went for the Spa Pedicure and had Ms. Tory as my nail tech - she was so friendly and very sweet! The massages and the pressure was on point, but I wished she did a better job in the callus removal (I had to do mine at home). If you also are dealing in ingrowns, Tory does a good job. The drying area could be a bit more spacious; if you sit inside towards the windows, it's hard for you to get out if another patron is next to you, as both of you have to scoot over. I've had 2 bad experiences here. I thought I would try them again since it had been a couple years. The tech was rushed. I was in and out in 35 minutes. She used only one coat of base with Dazzle Dry when they specify 2. The polish was old and too thick so it bubbled and was chipped in 3 days time. The woman at the front desk is wonderful, tho! I love this nail salon! I was looking up nail salons in the neighborhood since I was planning on being close by to meet a friend for lunch. After consulting Yelp, I narrowed it down to You & Co due to all the positive reviews and the place/staff seemed clean, friendly and professional. True to the other reviews, my experience here was fantastic. I called the salon and they were able to accommodate me (for a same day walk-in essentially) for builder gel removal and a fresh set of no chip nails. They were also able to take my friend and sat us together for her regular mani. When I asked about pricing, they were really up front about their services and prices which I appreciated; no wondering, no fuss. Completely transparent! They offer regular and no-chip (gel) manis and pedis here, and I'd check with them directly by calling or looking on their website for a full scope of their services. Angie, the owner I believe, started off by removing my old set, and then Tori took care of me the second half and gave me the "glazed donut" nails that were trendy over the summer. A little late to the game, but I really liked how they turned out! Everyone was so nice and they seem to get regulars here all the time, which is a great sign. I just love this spot. It gets better each time I come. First off, they're good at accommodating with a last minute appointment most of the time. Second, the salon is always very clean and aesthetically pleasant. The vibe is great, good pop music that isn't too loud, relaxing interior, no TVs, great massage chairs, and SUPER kind staff. They have a ton of colors to pick from and their pedicure is one of the best. I love that they don't skimp on the leg massage and that they use an exfoliating scrub as part of the process. Usually so accommodating and amazing but I made an appt for the holidays and left with bare nails, only cleaned up. Granted I arrived a few minutes late, but I had asked for a french pedicure and the nail tech put white stripes that hardly resembled one another over my natural nails and left it as is. She could have easily explained to me that it would not have been possible, instead of wasting my time and money. Asked to remove it altogether as it looked messy and not worth the money I had planned to spend. Money was not a problem, but the quality was terrible. On top of that, she must have been in quite a rush as she hurt my nails pretty badly while trimming, causing me to recoil (something that's never happened with me before). Update from my previous review: Angie the owner reached out to me, and was really sweet. She did mention that in the dry winter, skin is is delicate and it is common for people to occasionally bleed during a manicure from dried out cuticles. I get that, but tbh they didn't really put the care that's necessary to prevent that from happening. For example, they didn't have me put my hands in water the first time; the nail tech just brushed cuticle oil over them and then told me to go wash my hands. My skin was still quite dry by the time she started pushing and cutting the cuticle. She offered to have me in for a complimentary manicure. I wasn't planning to, but it so happened a few weeks later I happened to be in the area with an hour to kill, and walked in without an appointment. Despite it being a rainy afternoon, it was full, and they took me despite no appointment, which was really nice of them. This time around I got Tori, who was different from my previous tech. Tori was quite thorough; she did the water soak, oil and cuticle care that's necessary before a manicure, and she was careful and complete with her polish application. This time around, the manicure was perfect. I definitely think my previous bad visit was just a tired tech at the end of a long day who was skipping corners. On my second visit there were absolutely no issues. When go back I will make a point of requesting Tori. read more

I was a customer for more than two years with a twice-monthly appointment for a no-chip manicure and pedicure. Classic style, nothing customized or complicated, I'm an easy, quiet, regular customer who scheduled appointments on almost entirely slow days. I opted to work with only one technician because a few others I tried were not as good. I stopped patronizing this nail salon because the owner (Angie) became so unpleasant (stern, unfriendly, cold) about my standard 5 - 10 minute late habit. Because my mani-pedis were so standard, my late arrival was still within my 90-minute appointment time and so not an issue for the next appointment or walk-in. I don't want to feel like I am being scolded by a business owner who does not value a good customer so I will spend my money at another nail place that is happy to have such an easy, regular, paying - if tardy - customer. read more

You & Co is my new fav nail spot (and I'm very picky) It's a wonderful space, very inviting, clean, professional but also super friendly. I've mostly seen Nicole who is their nail art expert; she's so lovely. I've gotten simpler designs, and I kinda make them up myself so I've sometimes had to give some explicit instructions but she always gets it. Also my nails always last at least 2 weeks (my first mani coulda lasted me over a month!). I've only gotten my nails done once by someone else, by one of the guys who was very thorough (which I always appreciate). An excellent place to get your mani/pedi and a fair price. I had an appointment and figured it would be empty on a Thursday morning but when I arrived, there were 4 other customers. My technician, Tee, was waiting for me with the perfect temperature of water to soak my feet. Tee is very efficient and works quickly and thoroughly. The music and the vibe were mellow. I enjoyed a chrome pedicure last week on Monday as a Halloween self treat. This boutique nail salon is immaculate and extremely tranquil. My nail technician Tori really took her time and helped remove my ingrown nails with skill and attention to detail. I really loved the results and recommend their nail salon to anyone in the Lincoln square neighborhood. It was such a relief to have my ingrown toenails removed properly and without any pain or bleeding! They definitely care about their clients. I will definitely be returning here again soon read more

The vibe of this place is: eucalyptus candle. This is a new nail spot that's only been open 4 months so take that into consideration when seeing the low quantity of ratings. I walked in right when they opened on a Tuesday and they were able to fit me in for a manicure and pedicure. The people there are SO nice and chill. They immediately asked me if I wanted water and delivered it to me at the chair I was in. Then someone laid the chair back for me and showed me the massage buttons. I felt really taken care of. Maybe that was because it was a Tuesday at opening but legitimately everyone's vibe there is warm, relaxed, professional. The place is a minimalist heaven, green very tall walls, gold and black details, and the whole place smells amazingly faintly herbal. Can't put my finger on what it is. The manicure and pedicure were 80$ total, they were both basic no nail art nothing special besides no chip but regardless the price is still super reasonable, I'll take it any day.
