The building has a beautiful historic feel, and I like that they've maintained some of that old Birmingham charm rather than making everything feel overly modern and generic. The location is also convenient if you're attending an event downtown or want to be close to the theatre district, restaurants, and other attractions. One of the highlights is the rooftop bar. The views of downtown are beautiful, especially around sunset, and it's a nice place to grab a drink without leaving the hotel. Service is generally warm and welcoming, which makes a difference, particularly in an older property where a few things may not feel as updated as a newer hotel. Parking is valet only through the hotel, so that is something to factor into your stay as well. Great downtown location, historic charm, good hospitality, and a rooftop worth checking out. I'd stay again, particularly if I needed to be in downtown Birmingham.

I would rate this Hilton property 0 stars if we could. We are loyal Hilton Diamond members and have stayed at multiple Hilton properties around the world. This was one of the worst properties we have ever stayed at. We stayed here in February and from the time we attempted to check in, it was disappointing. We were upgraded due to our Diamond status and upon checking into our room it was absolutely disgusting. The bedsheets appeared dingy and the bathroom was gross. There was hair on the ground and a vomit stain on the tile. So vile! We called downstairs right away and were moved to another room that was not much better. However, we were there for a family function and has other guests arriving that we has suggested the hotel to. We did notify the manager on duty and he told us he would escalate our concerns. The next day, the hotel manager, Tonya was on sight and sat down and spoke to us regarding the issues. She agreed that our experience was 100% unacceptable and promised to compensate our Hilton Honors points for our entire stay. She assured us that she would make this happen. Also, despite our complaints and meeting with her, our room was never even serviced by house keeping our entire stay. Now over 1 month later after no follow-up call or email, we contacted her and at first she acted as if she has no idea what we were talking about. Then she stated she escalated the issue to corporate but was unauthorized to issue more than 20,000 points, which covers absolutely nothing. And stated there was not really anything for her to do! She totally and outright lied to us, after she had assured us in person and in an email that our entire points would be compensated. She even had the audacity to even yell at us on the phone. This is not the type of experience I expect as a loyal Hilton Diamond Member. In conclusion avoid this disgusting and poor quality Hilton property at all costs.

Absolutely blown away! I was taken here for a work outing…read moreand, honestly, as someone who's pretty simple with food and doesn't eat fancy food often, I didn't have high expectations when I looked at the menu beforehand. I was horribly mistaken. Everything I tried was absolutely incredible. For appetizers, I tried the BBQ miso chicken, seeded yeast rolls, and burrata. The BBQ miso chicken was tender thigh meat served on a skewer and topped with peanuts (so definitely something to be aware of if you have an allergy). It also came with a few spicy pickles that were delicious. The seeded yeast rolls were perfectly baked; light, airy, and served with cane syrup whipped butter. That butter was out of this world phenomenal. I could have eaten it by itself! For dinner, I had the sweet corn ravioli. It came in a large bowl with A LOT of rich, creamy sauce. There was so much sauce that I actually asked for a spoon and basically ate it like soup. Not a complaint whatsoever because it was absolutely delicious. The only letdown for me was dessert. I was really looking forward to an authentic Southern banana pudding, but there was an unexpected peanut flavor, not what I was expecting at all. I was hoping for more of that classic banana-and-vanilla flavor. The ambiance was also really cool-dark, moody, and almost gave me an Alice in Wonderland kind of feel. Our server was 10/10, and the manager stopped by several times to check on us. They were also incredibly accommodating to a coworker with food allergies, which I really appreciated. Overall, this place completely exceeded my expectations. I went in thinking I probably wouldn't find much I liked and left genuinely impressed. Definitely a memorable meal!

The decor is swanky and it makes you feel like you've feel like you're walking through an art museum. It's definitely instagram worthy backdrop. Especially if you go outside. It was July in Alabama so we opted for indoor window seating in the bar area to enjoy the views. There were only two other parties in the restaurant, so we literally had the place to ourselves. The bartender was our server and he was excellent. We attempted to order the oysters (6) as an appetizer, but they were out. We ordered the Pickled Shrimp and Bbq Miso chicken instead. Both were delicious. The shrimp was fresh and cold. The chicken was unique as it had peanuts with the sauce. I had the crispy flounder sandwich with fries and my friend ordered the Panzanella salad with shrimp. The fish was hot and crispy and well seasoned. The fries were delicious, too...thick but not steak cut. I wasn't supposed tot have them, but hey it was Friday eve...that was close enough to the weekend! I'll be back to try the rest of the lunch and dinner menu soon!

The small couch in the main bedroom was a statement piece, but not exactly inviting. But overall the rooms were interesting. Breakfast didn't seem to be very popular when we were there as there weren't many guests at it, and they didn't deliver the cash box timely so paying with cash was an ordeal. The rooftop bar was a nice place to sit and quiet enough to have a conversation. The view over the city was nice to have, although not especially exciting. Valet parking was quick and easy, and the only option. It was conveniently located downtown with a bunch of food options around, including coffee shops. I wish I'd gotten a receipt as I left rather than waiting for an email because the email hadn't come by two days after, and the stay wasn't showing up in the app--not great, Marriott. When I called to get it I was on hold for quite a while--revising my review to lower from 4 stars for being adequate to good, to 3 stars because I had to wait in hold for over 16 minutes two days after my stay to get someone there on the phone to send me the bill for my stay, when it should have been sent immediately after I check out and automatically. The stay turned into a hassle with no respect for my time.

The minute we walked in and heard the live music, we knew we were going to have a good time. The food did not disappoint. My mom and daughter both had the pasta--one swapped the crawfish for chicken and the other for shrimp--and both versions were delicious. Hubby had the steak and eggs, and the one bite he was willing to spare was surprisingly delicious too! I went with the fried green tomatoes and Brussels sprouts because I already knew I'd be helping myself to some pasta from their plates. We finished it all off with banana pudding and key lime pie, and both were the perfect ending. Great food, live music, good vibes, friendly server and a fun stop on the road home. Definitely glad we found this place! Also, a great looking bar with lots of TVs so would be great in the evening as well.

There was a guy performing live there, and the music was not so overpowering that you were unable to talk across the table. Very pleasant. Service was slow but it appeared they were understaffed. Order bowl of Gumbo for appetizers. We went on and provided our entree orders at that time as well. We waited about 25-30 minutes a different person brought out our order. I ask the server to take the gumbo back, as we had order that as an appetizer. In a few minutes our original server brought the gumbo back to our table. I told her we had ordered that as an appetizers, the server apologized and said it had gotten "Lost in the kitchen, keep it, I'll take care of it". About the food, wife ordered salad with chicken. The salad had 4 large fried chicken tenders on it. I order the sirloin tips over rice. Overall tasty, but gravy was a little salty. Dish included some green beans as well which were tasty. Overall experience was ok, service a little slow which I don't understand with the lower population in the dining room. When I got the check, the gumbo was still on the ticket. Not sure what "I'll take care of it " meant, not what I expected. I paid for it without saying anything else. Actually it was pretty good gumbo. Paid the bill, left a good tip, as the server seemed to be running her legs off. Going back? Probably so, but it'll be a while till I do.

Or, even if you want to go grab a bite and a beer after work there's a long bar you can sit at, too. The vibe is very laid-back, but also trendy which I love and the food is phenomenal. Last night I got the double burger and the bun was perfectly buttered and toasted, and the two patties with the cheese was super juicy. It does have a black pepper aïoli on it, which the pepper flavoring is definitely prominent, but it was still very good. I really love the fact that they do Fresh house cut french fries. It's really about the details! They are very known for their corn dog, just trust me, it's super fun. But everything I've ordered is always very good, they used to have the best lamb burger in town and I still dream about it! I also really appreciate that they have an extensive list of drink options from homemade unique cocktails to beer to wine and nonalcoholic beers and mocktails. There is something for everyone. They also have a lot of specials during the week as well as other activities like trivia on Wednesday nights. Their location will be moving in the beginning of 2025 but go check this place out!
