Oasis is a tiny little building in rural Cottondale, just a short drive outside of Tuscaloosa. It's a little loud, a little grungy, and a little intimidating to a non-regular...but you should try it! The food was more or less ready for me when I got there -- I got there before the 20 minutes they told me was up, so I don't count my few minutes waiting as on them. The cashier was a little gruff at first but we warmed to each other after joking about how much ranch I wanted. One of the patrons offered me a seat while I was waiting, which was really nice and put me at ease. My food was still hot by the time I got home. Oasis KNOWS how to make a good hamburger. The bun was buttered and crispy around the edges, the burger was thick and juicy, and they put the perfect amount of ketchup on top. The bacon was a little underdone for my taste, but I like mine very crispy. The fries were just standard crinkle cut...but they were elevated to delicious after being dunked in their house-made buttermilk ranch. I'd say this is probably the best burger in the T-town area -- better than The Avenue Pub, which I've often seen it in competition with. At least, that's my assessment.
