If I was able to give this place a one star review I really would with that being said I'll start with the only good thing this place is going on for it. The atmosphere and the decor at the restaurant is amazing. Nice outside restaurant with a nice woodgrain feel makes you really feel like you're in the country. The service was the worst service I've ever had in my 27 years of exist. My son, my girl and I sat down for dinner waited 45 minutes to get asked three different servers who walked by where is our server one of them lay it to the other server or anybody else in the Kitchen. Sidenote my son is under two years old. It's not like he's a grown child and it's not easy to take him out in general so when we do take him out, we would like to have decent meal. After we finally get a server, we have to wait an additional 15 to 20 minutes to get three waters. had didn't even bother to take our food menu mind you they know that we were sitting for 45 minutes with would think after 45 minutes People would know what they would wanna eat. We're in a total of an hour to finally put our food in. If the place was busy, I would understand however wasn't that busy that night maybe 10 to 12 tables which if you haven't been there 10 to 12 tables doesn't really a lot for that place, you could house a lot more people than that. Then we finally get our food. The first thing we got was the appetizer was cowboy nachos at this point I didn't keep track of how long it took for us to food, but I knew it took a long time since we put in our order. When the nachos finally got to the table they were already soggy. I understand that the cowboy nachos come with baked beans however baked beans shouldn't make the nachos that soggy that so quickly. The next thing that came out was my burger. I asked the waitress if it was a fresh burger she said . Spending 20 some dollars on a burger and getting a frozen patty after you asked the server if it's fresh is absolutely insane not only does she not know the food menu that is way overpriced for a frozen patty if I wanted frozen patty, I would've went to a fast food chain and a lot of money. My you once again is under two years old. Got the chicken tenders and fries. They put a seasoning on top of there's nothing wrong with that but you think you would ask since you could clearly see that the chicken tenders and fries were for a 18th month old child. Now I have an upset baby who hasn't moved in over an hour with food. He's not gonna eat besides the chicken tenders to say he was miserable for the entire time he was out as an understatement. If anyone's a luxury to bring their child, you know it could either be really good or really bad. He was in a great mood until we got to the restaurant. He was a great mood when we got to the restaurant somewhere around the 30 minute his mood started to change. It's really hard to pick up and leave a restaurant with a hungry child that age as well. it's not like an easy getting in the car thing. For those who are wondering, my girl got a salad nothing much to really say there she wasn't blown away by it and you really can't mess up a salad. At the end of dinner, we were asked how was our experience we spoke to honestly we told them the truth we were telling them everything we wrote in this review. This and this is the only reason I'm writing this review. We were promised a gift card for the terrible experience we had. They said they would mail it out to us and never did. I called back about the issue two weeks after I figured that was ample amount of time to receive a gift card in the mail. After calling back, I was put on hold and told to call back later in the week. I called back a little over a week speak to the same Annie that I've been speaking with this whole entire process. She apologized and said she will hand-deliver this gift card. It's been an additional three weeks and still no gift card has been dropped off to my home. I'm not writing this review because I didn't get compensated for the terrible food and service. I'm writing this review because the fact that the service was terrible. The food was awful and I was lied to by the staff about making everything right multiple times on multiple different occasions is absolutely insane. I really hope the owner sees this in questions his staff. And said she's the manager and she said she would make this right on multiple occasions and she lied to me in person over the phone countless of times. I figured with her being an older woman her word would be gold like most people born in her generation. Clearly the staff word means nothing. Now I will never go back there, and I will tell all of my friends and family to never go back there. If anybody ever brings up backwoods, I will tell them the terrible time I had along with my family. I never wish non-success on anybody however, this is the first time in my life that I hope our restaurant. read more

Their smoker is heavily featured so expect a unique barbecue approach to meats. Great spot with an awesome ambiance and craft beer lineup on tap, there's always something interesting to try. I had the Caesar salad with salmon, which was excellent, and the chicken wing bites are a must. The service is always friendly and welcoming, especially Becca behind the bar, who's fantastic. Food is good. I really like the attempt of having "steamers" on the menu. Even though when I ordered it, it was just cherrystone clams. Service was friendly when we went on a Tuesday night for dinner. I'm very confused by the vibe of what the restaurant is trying to do. The plate for fish and chips had a diner, Gramma feel. It's a different style of plate used to for the salmon dish and the sandwiches came on a metal tray. And so were the utensils and napkins in the metal container on the table were very backyard barbecue, but the room felt modern and not rustic. Lots of going on there. On top of it all, there were some remnants of New England through the food choices. Giving this place 4 stars because it has a lot of potential P. S. We found this place after going to nearby Misericordia for a game. It was dark and it's literally in the middle of nowhere (as the GPS tells us we are almost there, I cannot see anything, but then it just popped out). Very cool vibe. Really liked the atmosphere. Really good service. Decent drinks. Cool menu with great selections BUT so salty. Everything was super salty. I very rarely send food back, but in this case, it was too salty to eat. I really wanted to like this, we went before and loved it, and I chose this for my birthday dinner, but the night was lackluster. First my seat was right by a door, literally right next to it, so constant traffic around my back, but hey, someone has to sit there. I ordered steamers and fried chicken, my wife ordered fish and chips and then at the last minute deviled eggs. Plus some cocktails and wine for the wife. First the good, my wife loved her wine and the fish and chips was awesome. Two huge pieces of fish and great fries. The deviled eggs were the star of the night. Also I liked my first drink. The steamers came with no butter or bread for the broth, and they were VERY sandy. My fried chicken was ok, the bacon maple sauce was great, but the chicken was three pieces of boneless breast. I prefer dark meat or at least bone in, but I put this on me as ordering the wrong thing. It wasn't bad, just not what I liked. And the mashed potatoes were dry, needed some more butter or something. My second drink was a watermelon margarita, very watery on top and sickening sweet on bottom, must have never been stirred or shaken at all. The woman playing guitar ands singing was great! After a nice day of the hubby golfing and having the house to myself, I can meet him here for dinner. The appetizers are fantastic, I regret sharing the smoked wings and wish we ordered more! The fried pickles and deviled eggs will most likely always be ordered every time we go. The ran out of ribs so we did not get to try that but the fried chicken and steak were huge winners! The steak was so tender and fried chicken super crispy and flavorful for being boneless. Can't wait to come back and try the ribs. read more

While I understand that restaurants are having their issues during this time due to coronavirus I unfortunately had a bad experience. I made a reservation on Opentable on Monday for friday night at 630pm for 5 people. A group of friends who have been safe together throughout this last 6 months. When we arrived (early for our reservation) they asked if we wanted to sit outside or inside. With the weather being just below 50° we said inside. They then brought us downstairs. Turns out downstairs is nothing like upstairs. It's basically a snack bar for the golfers. With a reservation made 5 days before you seat us in the basement? A basement that has a hotdog roller, a cooler refrigerator, no music from upstairs and a hole in the wall with exposed insulation that we were lucky enough to be seated underneath. Ok fine, we will order drinks as they suggested and wait for an available table upstairs. We all ordered drinks from our exceptional waitress Annie which is the only reason why I gave this place a star in the first place. 45 minutes later when our waitress came back and asked what we wanted and we were considering a 2nd drink we asked how much longer and she said at least 45minutes that's when I said no, we will take the check. This place was no way at the governors requirement of 50% capacity. They were overbooked and inconsiderate on people who try to plan ahead during a pandemic. Where to start. The service was very slow and not attentive. I noticed they were catering to several tables around us. It was very difficult to even get a drink. anytime you asked the waiter for anything he was not very nice. Now for the food, Our appetizer was the fried pickles. They were served ice cold, I have to say if they were hot they would have been out of this world. I ordered the fish-and-chips the crust on the fish was very crispy but had no flavor. the fish was dying for salt. my wife ordered the sausage special, Could not find the sausage on the bun and they said there was supposed to be a cream sauce couldn't find that either. They need to get their act together. The building is remodeled beautifully and they have great potential. If it will be a while till we go back hopefully they fix it. read more

Cocktails are top notch. Our dinners are exactly what we ordered the way we ordered it. Service was great! Chef James is exceptional! Everyone seems to multitask to keep things clean and moving. The deserts seem to be new thing. Shout out to Annie! Obvi has a background in pastries/baking.
