I'm usually not one to leave reviews, but I feel it's my duty to warn others about the nightmare I experienced with Bakersfield Backyard and Home. It's been over a year since I hired them to build my pool, and it's still not complete. What started as a dream quickly turned into a nightmare when I hired Husain, the owner's son, to quote the job in May 2022. He promised the project would take five weeks, but it turned out to be a year of hell. Bakersfield Backyard and Home is very unprofessional and lacks decent customer service. The first red flag was when their secretary quit after we gave them the initial payment for excavation. She told us she didn't want to be affiliated with such a place and all the horror she's gone through working there. Quresh, the owner, will tell you what you want to hear just so that he can receive payment. He even threatened not to finish the project until he received the last payment. After we released the final payment, he finished putting the pool together, but the project was far from complete, and I'm not happy or satisfied with the results. He received his last payment and ran, constantly lying and telling me he would fix things just so I would get out of his face. Bakersfield Backyard and Home provided no after-care instructions and left debris and trash around the pool area. The pool heater still doesn't work, and wooden planks were haphazardly attached to the cement. The fence was thrown back up and fell down during strong winds. There was a complete lack of attention to detail. Pools are far too expensive not to be done correctly or with care. I gave them several opportunities to correct their errors, but the work has yet to be completed. My advice to anyone considering Bakersfield Backyard and Home is to find another contractor and run the other way. I don't know how they're still in business, and I'm considering taking legal action. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs. read more

Update on my patio IT LEAKS! Multiple places. Not even just edges where it connects to beams, in RANDOM PLACES OF THE SOLID PIECES!! Cheap materials obviously in my opinion. The downspout empties to my patio cement. When inspecting the leaks, I noticed a screw was not even there that keeps the patios together! And this passed inspection?! Maybe that's why it failed the first time. Called and spoke with Suresh. He would "get with his guys" and see what they can do. Been about a month. I will file a complaint like another reviewer. I do not even know where to start, but here we go--working with this company. Hussain, in particular, has been a nightmare. We ordered a pool back in Aug. of 2020 and were told the installation would be Feb. 21. We had no problem with this. A month later, we went back and purchased a spa and were told it would be here Aug. 2021 again, no problem. Then there was nothing but problems. Hussain calls in Jan. and states, "we have an extra spa just like yours, but it is an upgrade; I wanted to offer it to you because we could deliver this weekend" I said, great, paid an extra 3k, and it shows up. From the start, the Microsilk did not work. They did not show up with the additional items ordered, and one of the headrests did not work. Hussain refused to send anyone out because we are in Ridgecrest, and therefore, he wants to get the part before anyone comes. Then in Feb. The pool had a date only for him to cancel and go with March 6. No biggie. Two days before March 4, I called to verify they were coming. Mind you, the whole month six weeks prior, and I had emailed you saying who did not answer me. He's not in the office, and they tell me, oh, our guys are not going to be there on the sixth. So had I not called, I was waiting at my house for the construction crew for the pool that wasn't going to show. On the same day, I explain what's going on the micro soak to like three people, the fact we haven't gotten all of her items that were missing, the fact nobody's been sent out, and they send somebody out to look at Microsilk a week and a half later. They brought all supplies, but no go on the fix. This is now 2 1/2 months after I Purchased a spa. It is now April 13, Thursday still, no word on the Microsoft is going to be fixed, and we have a new problem with one of the valves in the spa being broken. I asked at this point for us to have contact or email . He asked to call I said no. I asked him to call the company and get a replacement spa because I believe this one's a dud. And after spending $13,000 as a customer I don't think I should be stuck with somethings broken constantly needing fixing. He has offered to send somebody out to look at it. No offer to call the company and see if he can get a replacement. The sad part is I thought this company was really good and we had a lot of work for them. read more

We bought a pool from them and we never received a contract. We never received a manual on how to care for our pool now we're having problems. We were told that everything was warranted. I purchased a hot tub from Hussain after an hour on the phone asking him question after question concerning my hot tubs needs. He was very patient and knowledgeable and I felt no pressure at all to make the purchase, so I rewarded him with a sale of a hot tub sight unseen over the phone. I did spend a lot of time in person with his delivery person Anthony, who really aimed to please. He managed to squeeze the 700lb hot tub through a very tight space, and he did it masterfully without one tiny scratch. He cleaned the tub thoroughly before he filled it with water, and even trimmed some tree branches hanging over the tub that bothered him. Overall first rate service. read more

My wife and saw them at the home show. Decided to do a shower install. Was told 4-6 weeks with a 2 day install. We're not done yet, it's now been 11 weeks. The craftsmanship is horrible. I have shower walls that are not flat. A niche that was installed 3/8 out of plumb. A corner shelf that will hold water, cracks in the caulking. They don't show up to work in a timely manner. I went to this place and was checking their spa displays and noticed that they were busy with customers. After a few minutes, the owner approached me and asked me if I needed help. After telling him of what I'm interested in he gave me all the answers I needed and apologized for any inconvenience waiting which was only about 10 minutes and also learned that he was the owner of the company.To be fair with them, they were trying their best to accomodate everyone. We went ahead with the sale and project which is a swim spa for my backyard and the rest were history. Everything was done accordingly and all their staff as well as contractors did an excellent job.
