I'd give them a zero if I could! The pool technician is subpar. Don't expect this company to help when you have algae. I was told to call if ever a problem. I called the company once and the owner once when it happened twice to let them know about an algae issue that I had to take care of myself, which I don't appreciate for $145 full service monthly and he said he quits service effective immediately because I'm not happy with the technician's subpar service. They quit on their customers when pool issues arise. He said my pool is too difficult to take care of lol! Now I'm without service. He wouldn't even give me time to find another company. I don't recommend this company unless you have newer equipment and no issues with your pool at all. They only want to do a quick 10 minute subpar service and move on to the next pool. This is a great local find. I've had other "pool guys" and I'll just say that it didn't work out. I called AMPS and my pool literally looked like a fish/frog pond. Ray looked at it and didn't even blink. He set up everything via email and text. He handled the disgusting fish pond that was my pool. It is now crystal clear and everything is humming fine. I'm looking forward to the consistent (and regular) service that he has promised. We have dogs so communication is key with me (so I can lock them up and he can do his job). The price is right too! I contacted AMPS because I needed a new pool pump. I had also been having problems on the suction side for almost a month. Not only did Ray & Nick install a new variable speed pump but they also discovered that my old pump was never grounded from the last pool company I had used. Top that off with that they found a leak underneath my equipment that they expertly repaired. I am up and running smoothly again thanks to this company!! Ray saved my pool! We bought a house with a pool and had no idea how to take care of it. I called many other pool service companies and received no reply. When I called AMPS they answered right away and came out the same day to check everything out and were back the next day doing the work. My pool water was green and attracting dragonflies...they drained it, scrubbed it, and treated the bottom for staining. When it was refilled it looked like a brand new pool!! They also replaced my filter (it needed to be replaced badly) and it has been running great all summer long. When my wife and I bought our house the pool was green and full of algae. We called AMPS and they drained and cleaned the pool. We have the pebble tech coating and it is about 20 years old and difficult to maintain. Nick and Ray keep an eye on it for us and spend the extra time to make sure that it is kept clean. Ray .....as it would happen was very helpful and Informative in the beginning .Our Pool was in real bad shape & being we had never owned a pool we were going by What the professionals would recommend and didn't contradict anything they said " because we didn't know anything about pools" NEW PUMP & FILTER were recommended . So that's what we did . Also hired them for the weekly pool maintenance. After the new PUMP & FILTER installation the pool was still getting a thin green layer. Which didn't make sense to us ..... well because we just purchased what the suggested. We had planned for a small family gathering & mentioned this to them just so we could on be on the same page for this pool and equipment to work. He serviced the pool on Thursday our party was Saturday and I reached out to him to let him know the pool was still green. Should I empty it out and re start ? Should he come brush it ? Should he re check the chemicals level ? What'????? Of course i was panicking being were in Bakersfield it gets super hot and we were going to have a get together that weekend . After I send him a photo of the pool which I took either the day he serviced it or the following morning . He suggest to empty out the 30,000 gallons of waters. Just stating it takes 2 - 2.5 days to fill my pool ... meaning I probably wouldn't be ready for the party. I reached out to another pool company they came brushes it did the chemicals and came for 2 days in a row . Saturday at 12 pm my pool was sparkling / crystal clean. They did notice a small leak on the pump . I reached out to them after that weekend that the pump was leaking and of course no answer or responsibility. The only good thing was the Clorox cleaning and emptying of the pool being it was dirty . Again the mother and son seem to understand they are offering a service .Ray well I'm not really sure he's the founder but the professionalism level and knowledge of this pool industry is a bit odd. If I could pick zero, I would. My husband has Parkinson's and called Ray after we returned from vacation to find our pool filthy. Ray told him that he wasn't able to service our pool last week because they have 100 other customers and they were behind. So my husband let him know that we pay for a weekly service and they could come Monday. My husband sent a text on Monday to see when AMps would be coming. He received no response, so he called. He was then told by Ray that he was "too demanding" and that they were going to cancel our service! So, a man with Parkinson's paying for a weekly service for years is too demanding to expect consistent weekly service? shame on you Amps. You are unreliable and rude. Also, if you have too many clients that you can't service, this should be a warning to others. Watch to see if they are really servicing your pool every week.
