This isn't just a bad review it's more of a warning! We had the service about 7 months. Started off fine but I felt like the owner was a little shady but my wife liked him so we kept them. Right away the owner is asking relentlessly for a five star review which I advised against- customers need time to decide about service levels. In 7 months we had 3 different pool guys, each worse than the one before. We had to tell the guys if they could clean the pool because we ended up cleaning the pool right after they left and we have a pool vacuum running daily- almost comical if you ask me but frustrating because pool service isn't cheap- we normally couldn't tell if they had been there or what they even did! So I had been on the wife to cancel the service as I'm doing pooling cleaning right after service, didn't make sense to keep paying for a weekly chlorine tablet! The last straw came when the last pool guy that came broke the turn key on the pool filter and just left it there and left. The owner then texted us that we need to get that fixed which is very confusing because he's our pool guy?!?! And second his employee broke it. We asked if he could fix it and he said yes and since we're his customer he'd give us a special price if $280 parts and $180 labor!! Also the guy questioned my wife if we'd been paying the bill- without even bothering to look to see before questioning her- who in the world does that- FYI we had always paid for our service a month ahead of service!! So I did some investigating and his special price was just special to his wallet!! I got the part for $170 and took me about 15 minutes to fix it-mind you his special price for labor was $180 so his hourly rate is $700- I asked two people in the likey hood that the part broke from age or foul play both said not likey due to age!! read more

You really don't get this kind of honesty and fairness anymore. Carlos came out today to find out what was causing my suction leak. I was concerned it was plumbing to the Jandy valve that was causing the issue. When he arrived he looked at the problem and said "If it is the o-ring in the valve I charge you nothing". Carlos took it apart and examined it, put it back together and NO LEAK! I really didn't think that was the problem for I had replaced the O ring a few months back. I came across Poma Pools on yelp and got in touch with them and explained my situation and that I needed my pool, drained and refilled due to really bad algae. In a sentence: very unreliable pool service. Lots of confusion on the part of the company, and part of it was because of my lack of knowledge with the Spanish language. I was under the impression that they'd visit twice per week. In reality, they visited once per week. I also believed that Carlos personally would visit my residence, in reality he had someone else do it. Also, there was a service fee tacked on for the first visit. Total surprise to me, but I accepted because I thought I was in good hands considering the high remarks left on Yelp. To preface, my pool has a significant leak. I tried correcting the issue myself, and I couldn't fix the problem. I still don't have an idea why, but it's not the fault of the company. The issues with this company started after the 4th visit I had. At this point they were fully aware of the problem I was having. The provider I had, his name was Willy, informed me that I needed a part to fix an unrelated issue and quoted me a price I thought was reasonable. I was under the assumption that they'd be back to fix the issue. That wasn't the case. He missed his last week of service I paid for. To their credit, my pool was facing significant issues maintaining a consistent water level within the pool. They never gave me notice or warning that that would be enough for them to cancel service. We signed no contract, it was all cash. It took nearly a week of pestering to finally get a pro-rate refund for the week they missed. This experience was incredibly disappointing. I really enjoyed having the service when it was reliable and I could count on them. The fact they left me hanging in the dry with no explanation, forcing me to call as often as I did because I thought I didn't get what I paid for was ridiculous. I would encourage everyone to evaluate other options that may prove more fruitful. Perhaps one that offers lower rates for the same service as in hindsight $130 pro rate for the work completed is a bit pricey. read more

I have an above ground pool that was being cleaned by my husband but winter came and he stopped doing it and the pool got dirty.
