had the worst experience with a owner our office Help came out to my home told me I Needed 10 bags of salt water. It was gonna be $14 a bag. I decided to get my own bags . The lady who called and told me that did not give me instructions not to put in that many bags of salt in my pool. She just told me I needed it so I assumed I needed that much salt not being a Pool expert, not knowing it's her job and I put the salt in. Called to complain about it looking foggy and they ended up not wanting to take responsibility for not explaining the proper instructions. She blamed the customer she blamed me. She blamed me also for putting two water hoses in my pool which where on , my pool has self filing water pump.. I do not have anybody in my house that would do this put the two hoses in. They did not take responsibility. Did not say sorry did not try to fix anything. Nothing for calling and saying I need 10 bags of salt water and that makes no sense to having a service , then she proceeds to say she will not be serving me anymore do you wanna a company who blames the customer and not even apologize for the miscommunication. She said she would've only told me to put in the salt if I was a customer buying from their store not having Pool Service from them . It was her job as to do the proper thing or her office. never expected this from this lady she seemed. very nice in the beginning when I first met her. Would not take responsibility for lack of communication from her and the way she raised her voice was very disrespectful to anyone. And her office help should be more informed when talking to customers , would not recommend this company for anything. There's many pool supply companies if my pool needed salt that should've been their job to put the salt bags in the water in and just tell me ! unacceptable to a customer. I don't know what's happening to this world but lack of Respect should've never called and told me I needed. 10 bags And it will be added to your bill or why would she tell me any 10 bags? Sounds like she just wanted to make a sale do not go there bad bad experience like I said in the beginning, I thought this company take so responsibility possibility for their fault of lack of communication is not a pool service you want to work with , I don't understand why they will call me and tell me 10 bags of salt water, without explaining to me anything so I go get the salt Debbie argued with me and try to prove her point instead of listening she tried to blame me for it when they're the ones who called me and I hired them to take care of my pool. I made an appointment with Bakersfield Pool Supply to give me an estimate for a new pool cleaner, salt generator, Filter system, etc. . . my appointment was for today at 11am. . . They never showed! No phone call, no text, nothing. just left me hanging. . . . Totally unexpected. I heard good things about them, that's why I wanted to do business with them. unfortunately they don't want to do business with me. . . . What a shame. I have a budget of $5,000 for my new system. After being a loyal customer for years with Bakersfield Pool Supply they cancelled my account because I called to let them know my pool had turn green. I had several other pool services come out on the 4th of July to give me estimate on my pool situation because of all the damage they left behind. To find out that Bakerfield Pool Supply had not been servicing my pool correctly leaving my pump clogged, filter that had not been back washed in over a year. Small storefront but what they lack in space they more then make up for in service. I am new to having a hot tub and needed to find out what I needed to get started on the chemicals. They made me feel like I was very important to them even though they knew I was not going to be a huge money maker for them. They could have sold me a huge kit of chemicals that I may not use and sent me on my way. Instead, they had me bring in a sample of my water and sold me EXACTLY the chemicals I needed for my hot tub. Bakersfield Pool Supply exemplified professionalism, great service, and gave expert advice on the different types of pool filters available (ie sand vs DE). I was fortunate enough to run into Val and Joe in Bakersfield when I needed to change the pump and filter at our apartment complex. Keep in mind, this review is for a commercial pool. Initially, I was a little hesitant on choosing the sand filter because it does not catch the finer micro particles a DE filter would catch. However, after doing some research and asking Val why a sand would be better, I finally decided to go with it. She was very knowledgeable and told me that the naked eye would not be able to see the difference and that a sand filter would be much cheaper to maintain in the long term. In addition, the sand filter was already cheaper than the DE filter. At the end of the installation, I was able to see and meet Joe in person. I was a little in shock after seeing the pump in its entirety after it was installed. He had also told us that we would save a lot of money on our energy bills and water bills because we were switching from a single variable pump to a multi variable pump. At the end of the day, you really couldn't ask for a more honest and professional company. Thanks Joe & Val! We will be returning for our future pool maintenance needs as well. read more

I had this service and it didn't work out. The pool was always green. So, I got a new pool guy. When I notified Bakersfield Pool Supply, I received a very hateful email. Intimidating enough, I worry the guy may come back and mess up my pool equipment or hurt my dogs in the back yard! He tried to blame me for not keeping my pool clean, but wasn't that what I was paying him for???? I called the company this morning to notify them of the situation. They did not accept any responsibility and were VERY rude and unprofessional! The only excuse they had was that the pool guy is an alcoholic!!! read more

If you don't mind a job incomplete, this company is for you!! We contracted Bakersfield Pool Supply to install tile in our pool, replace some decking and replace the pool light. Once they had completed the tile and decking, payment was requested for work completed. Once payment was made, they never returned to replace the light. Had a very bad experience with their pool service, had them all winter one year and it was ok, once summer came they couldn't keep my pool clean or blue. They gave us poor service when they did showed up. They kept switching Tech's and when the supervisor came out to service our pool he was even worse, he didn't brush it down when we were paying for full service! He didn't add enough chemicals either as he couldn't get it clear or blue, he didn't seem that knowledgeable either. When we called to complain he was rude then passed the phone to the "owner" he then talked down to my wife addressing her as "little lady" and told us we should be brushing it down! We told him we're paying for full service that's they're job! He said we should be doing it too? What's the point of having full service if they do a half ass job! They then said we owed them money when I was on auto pay, find out later the office lady forgot to update my new credit card when I called it in to her the previous month! They were all very rude from the owner who tried to intimidate us, by saying he was coming over and we better have his money, and we were on auto pay the whole time, to the supervisor with a bad attitude and no customer service skills, as well as the office lady who was also rude and laughed at us when we called to complain! Their retail store was reasonable had my pool vacuum serviced there previous to signing up for they're pool service but the pool service was horrible in my experience of using them which I no longer do! Soon after Switched to California Chemical and have had excellent service ever since, my pool is always blue and they brush it every time plus they gave me a free pool sweep for agreeing to keep their service for a year, and they leave notes of when they come by unlike Bakersfield pool supply! Bet they thought I forgot about them, can't forget bad service and rude people, they need to focus on customer service!! It's #1 priority in any business! Shame on that owner and his employees! We rarely call for pool service as we usually fix problems ourselves. But this problem was more than we could handle so we called Bakersfield Pool Supply (We wanted to use a local company). Jeff was friendly, professional, and efficient. He fixed our problem (a leak in the above-ground plumbing) in less than an hour with spare time to fix our backwash valve!! The charge was $85 bucks!! Awesome!!! We will be using Bakersfield Pool Supply from now on! read more

Worst experience ever. They could not get a dirty pool to be clean in a months time. They put all the muck that was at the bottom of the pool on my backyard grass. When I finally got through to a human on the phone they said they would call the head pool guy and he would get back to me. Well he did call and told me off and said he was done and would not do our pool. Happy 4th of July. One of the worst and most expensive games in town. Bad bad service and to talk to your clients the way Rob did is unacceptable. Pierre, who was promoted to manager when the other guy left, has filled us with nothing but EXCUSE after EXCUSE after EXCUSE on why their services are not being executed. Did I mention that they "forgot" about maintaining my grandparents pool for several months with no call, no apology and absolutely NO service, while still absolutely taking the monthly fee out of their account each month? This would have gone on forever if their children and grandchildren didn't finally step in to figure out what's going on. This has been the most UNPROFESSIONAL experience I've EVER had with a professional service, and meanwhile the owner has still not gotten back to me after requesting to talk to her MANY times. I like these people they are very friendly but they are too busy to take care of business. The don't call you back when they say they would, and they don't show up on time to their service appointments. I waited almost two months for a replacement pool light. Finally after several attempts to get them to order the light their technician showed up 3 hours late, worked on it for two hours to find out that they ordered the wrong light. He promised me that they will get the correct light asap, but when I called Valerie four days later she hadn't even ordered the unit yet. Frustrated and angry, I canceled the order and decided it's more pieceful to swim in the dark instead. read more

Incredible service on a personal level compared to the more well known "chain store" in town. Whenever I need a service call, they are prompt and take the time to explain what my issues are in a manner in which I'm able to then understand the problem. They then follow up shortly thereafter to see if all is working as it should. One time I had some doubt about how my navigator was acting after a repair and they were out the next day. Same for Val at their store, very knowledgeable when it comes to treating water issues and her recommendations on which products to use have always been spot on and never has she tried to "upsell" me on products (unlike the aforementioned "chain store"). If you are a person who fully understands all that is involved in owning a pool and are a DIY'er, then stick w/the "chain store" however if maintaining your pool causes you to say "what the heck now is happening to my pool this time", you will not be disappointed w/Bakersfield Pool Supply. No stars for their pool service as it is horrible. No communication and a lot of no shows even though the FULL month is paid for in advance. I have called to complain and get an answering machine, which they do not call back. I've spoken to Rob and he didn't seem to concerned with my complaint of them not showing up and turning the vacuum on and letting it run all day. This continued so I went in person to complain to the owner Val. She had been extremely helpful while in the store previously. She actually made me feel like my complaint wasn't valid. When I told her nicely, that if I have to do it myself because they aren't showing up, then I might as well. She said, well that is your prerogative. A couple of weeks after this I come home on a pool service day to smell heavy chlorine from my garage door (a distance from the pool). When I got to the back yard the vacuum was running full speed after I have asked them numerous times to NOT run it, to leave me a note and I'll turn it back on when I get home if I need to. I let them go after the service on the 31st of May...I still have an extremely high level of chlorine in the pool almost a month later. Sadly, I expected their pool service to be as good as the in store service had been so I didn't check out anything, like chemicals or if the filter had been cleaned. I doubt they have cleaned it, even though I paid for full service. I would not recommend their service to anyone. Very disappointed. read more

My pool has not been crystal clear since we used them. Not sure what the reason for it was but when we purchased an item for the pool from another company who gave us an awesome deal, I was rudely yelled at and taken off their books. Bad temper, bad business. We costumers have the right to choose from any supply company we want no matter what the all around situation is. I found a highly recommended pool svc guy & sticking with the supply co. that has always been kind to me even though I found something else, somewhere else for a better deal. read more
