My bestie suggested for us to visit Bacuri Bakery since she lives 5 minutes away and it was probably one of the best decisions we've made on a restaurant in a long time. I had one of the best experience. From the adorable location of the Bakery, to the wonderful service and lets not forget the super delicious food! Inside of the place consist of about 4 tables and some high tops. It's in a cute little house with a rustic feel of wood that I love. A IG worthy name wall and super clean! Which is very important to me. The gentleman behind the counter was soooo nice, friendly, knowledgeable and I wonder if he's the owner but I am all about supporting local small businesses. I would come back for the service alone! I don't eat meat so I ordered the Portobello, red pepper and havarti cheese sandwich. My bestie ordered the ham and cheese and both was amazing!!! Mine wasn't overly salty, cheese was gooey, mushrooms and peppers was deliciously seasoned and best of all, the sandwich was crispy to the bite! Free parking right outside of the restaurant and free water for your convenience. I already have a coffee but we both took some pulled pork, chicken and spinach empanadas to go and everything was amazing! 10/10 on everything! Can't wait to bring my family to try the sweets and other stuff like acai bowl, cookies, cake jar and much much more!!! Please stop in and try it for yourself! You will fall in love! I know I did! Thank you Bacuri Bakery! I will be back!

12/18/24 update: I came in again to try more items. I tried 3 more empanadas (ground beef, ham, egg, and cheese, and last sausage, egg, and cheese), coxinha, and brigadeiro. Empanadas were all fantastic. Coxinhas were fried but the insides were creamy chicken flavor. Must try. The brigadeiro was a fudge ball. Soft texture with rich chocolate taste. It is sweet so I recommend eating one at a time not all at once.

Adorable lil bakery with friendly staff and appetizing empanadas and baked goods. First visit and tried the spinach, mushroom feta empanadas since they were out of the beef. Also added a cappuccino. Music bellowed in the background as I ate and enjoyed this charming lil business located off Cass Ave across from Quincy Station. Worth the trip if you're interested in baked goods from a local business in downtown Westmont.

Very glad to see this Brazilian bakery fill this spot. I've only tried a few empanadas and their carrot cake, which were all decent. Make sure to order some chimichurri sauce to go with empanadas. I'm looking forward to trying more of their menu items.

Love the variety of empanadas and different pastries! The banana foster empanada was amazing and hopefully that's a permanent menu item. I enjoyed the chorizo egg and cheese empanada as well! It was my first time trying coxinha and WOW they are amazing and I've been missing out. Great spot to have in the neighborhood! Despite that location being cursed lol.

Second visit and this place has been perfection both times! I was unfamiliar with many of their items the first time we came in and they took the time to walk me through the options and give recommendations. Very friendly and approachable! The space is absolutely adorable and I can tell a lot of work went into creating the space. The food is tasty and they offer sweep and savory options. They also offer a variety of beverages including coffee and coke products. Westmont is lucky to have this gem. Stop by - you won't be disappointed!

Checked out Bacuri as we love trying out local small businesses and interested in trying some Brazilian specialties. We got two orders of the large drink and 2 empanada special (great deal!) and another empanada and a cappuccino. Everything was great, we really enjoyed the empanada, the guava and cheese one was especially delicious! We also got an order of the coxinha which was also pretty decent. We look forward to coming back!

Fantastic place! They have a window on Cass that you can order through! Loved their hot chocolate, the brigaderios (chocolate brazilian truffles), benjinho (sweet coconut Brazilian truffles), and they have a great brisket grilled cheese! I know ill have to stop by and pick up some sweets for our upcoming holidays to share with the family! Thank you for the puppachino

I tasted some of Bucari's offerings at the last Taste of Westmont and was impressed, but just now took the opportunity to visit their bakery at 15 S Cass, and was delighted. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Their menu is smaller and condensed, but offers all of what anyone would be looking for when it comes to breakfast and lunch. I took advantage of the 2 empanada special and coffee for $8.50, which filled me up just as much as any fast food offerings would and for a very reasonable price. First time having an empanada, and for those who haven't had one...think a crispy country biscuit stuffed full with breakfast or lunch fillings...I had an egg and sausage and an egg and ham. These hit the spot as I'm pretty full. Full enough to pass on one of their pastry and donut choices. I'll be back for those when the time is right. They have a standard coffeehouse menu, and i'm really interested in their Aqai bowls, which appear to have many options and also reasonable. The bakery is warm and inviting. I love the choices that we now have in downtown Westmont. If you're thinking coffee shop and pastries, Bacuri offers something different than Brewed Awakenings, who has just as many options, but different, and this is what this town needs. Today, an empanada, tomorrow a delicious large muffin from Brewed Awakenings. Bacuri has a walk up window which will be a great feature for your commuters and summer walkers. I'll be back, maybe for lunch next time. Let me know what you've enjoyed, if you've been here.

Unfortunately, this visit was completely different and incredibly disappointing. From the moment we were seated, the service was slow and disorganized. It took an unreasonable amount of time just to receive the basic table items, especially the Brazilian cheese bread. We had already been eating for over 25 minutes and were nearly finished with our meal before the bread finally arrived. When we asked about it, the response was simply, "We're still baking them." That's not the level of service I expect from a Brazilian steakhouse. To make matters worse, the mashed potatoes and fried plantains were served cold. I also had to flag down our server to ask what had happened to our drinks. When she finally brought them, she commented that the drinks had already been made but "they just didn't know where to take them." That explanation wasn't reassuring, and being handed a soaking wet straw only added to the poor experience. Throughout the meal, our server rarely checked on our table. No one came by to offer drink refills, and I eventually had to get up and find a manager myself just to get another beverage. The meat selection was also far below what I expect from Fogo de Chão. Instead of the variety of premium cuts they're known for, we were repeatedly offered pork, chicken, and overcooked picanha. The premium cuts were either very limited or never made it to our table, making the experience feel nothing like the quality I've enjoyed during previous visits. I spoke with the manager about our experience, and to his credit, he sincerely apologized and immediately alerted the team. A young lady, who I believe was a supervisor, also came over to apologize and even offered my friend a complimentary dessert. I appreciate their efforts to recover the situation, but by that point, the overall experience had already been ruined. It's disappointing to see how much this location has declined. I've always considered Fogo de Chão one of the better Brazilian steakhouses, but based on this visit, the service, food quality, and overall dining experience have gone downhill significantly. I hope management takes these issues seriously because this experience was nowhere near the standard the restaurant is known for.

We went during lunch and I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of food and service. I would recommend to go - but don't get the AYCe options - actually order food from the bar menu. Excellent and great value Food (A-) The food from AYCE was a B+ while bar ordered food was a A. So one of my daughters got the churrasco experience and enjoyed the house special and ribeye . The other meats were good but a bit salty. The salad bar was pretty good also. Especially the bacon. Me, my wife and other daughter ordered off the bar menu and it was awesome. We got wings, steak, lamb, and both sliders - all of it was excellent. It was so good that this is going to be our good to place for family meals. Pictures posted below Service (A-) The staff was super friendly and nice. We went right at lunch open so not too busy. Prompt service and great job by the severs. The only caution is the wait for bar ordered food - it does take a while. I think the staff is focused on the Churrasco experience foods so anything ordered does take longer. But they were clearly trying there best Value (A) Split rating - would give Churrasco experience a B+ while bar menu a A+. Posted menu attached - next we go - we may order everything and try it - we really enjoyed it Insider tip- order from the bar menu and the quality of food is much better. If doing the experience stick with ribeye and house special. Join the rewards program - it is worth if you plan to go every few months.
