Came here for a family celebration, and we were extremely disappointed. My sister only eats chicken. We thought they might have a la carte entrees like Fogo de Chao but they did not. The salad bar was TERRIBLE compared to Fogo...very limited options for the price. The only table sides they had was potatoes, bananas and bread. No polenta which is my favorite side. The service was mediocre. When our party was seated, for some reason the waiter cleared away all of the wine glasses without asking us if we wanted wine. When we said something to him he kinda babbled something about it being easier to clear them. The place is gorgeous! Very clean. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful! Now to the food- omg good! Everything cooked perfect, and the variety is amazing of meats to choose from. Me and my family went to Texas de Brazil for my dad's birthday and it was a good time. The food was good but nothing to actual say WOW!! The cold bar with the cheeses and deli meats was nothing too be impressed with. The meats were standard meat selection. I do say the lamb chops were the highlight of my meal. Tender and full of flavor. Definitely recommend lamb chops. Service was good... but for some odd reason I felt a bit rushed and interrupted by waiters coming to the table. My tables circles were red and the waiters were still asking if we wanted more meats.... It's nice but had its moments of interruption. I always have a great time at experiences like these. We made a reservation for Valentine's Day weekend/our Anniversary and were seated almost immediately. Then, we went to the salad/cold food station where they had an assortment of cheeses, salads, cured meats, warm potatoes au gratin, and lobster bisque. I highly recommend grabbing some cheeses, potatoes, and soup to cleanse your palette as you eat the passed meats, but don't stock up on the salad! When you're ready to try the meats, turn your table card to "green" and watch as the food comes out. My favorites were the Brazilian sausages, picanha, filet mignon, and the flank steak. I was disappointed by the lamb meats which were consistently overdone even when I asked for medium rare. I recommend asking for small pieces of meat as they come around, figure out what you like, then bulk up on those meats. Another disappointment was their Brazilian cheese bread which I typically love. Fogo de chao has very soft cheese breads but Texas de Brazil's breads were crunchy almost like they were sitting out before being served. Finally, Fogo de chao provided a complimentary dessert for our anniversary last year but Texas de Brazil did not (not that I'm expecting it, just a note of comparison). It was our first experience here and the food was great. There's a little salad and soup bar you can choose from and the meats come around. You flip the round card to green if there's certain meets you would like and it was cooked well. Our waiter was nice in letting us know how it works but wished the service was a little better. Great dinner at Texas de Brazil. Besides the huge salad bar, we also really enjoyed both the picanha and garlic picanha steak as well as the thin and tender tri-tip steak. I'm not certain if they forgot about us because we got there about 10-15 early to check-in and there were several groups who were sat before us that came in after us. They are attached to the mall so to me they are a bit small. Salad had nice options including hot black beans and rice. They bring out mash potatoes, bread, fries, and plantains.The meat kept coming didn't need to ask unless we wanted a particular meat. I usually don't eat my steak with sauce but unfortunately I had to ask for steak sauce this visit. The steak was definitely missing flavor. My fav was the garlic steak. read more

First time coming here to celebrate hubby's birthday. We reserved a table on Open Table and our table was ready as soon as we arrived. The restaurant is in the mall, so there's ample parking. Our waiter was Larry, and he is awesome. He is extremely customer focused and attentive and made sure all the meats came to our table so we could try everything. The restaurant manager came by a few times and asked if everything is to our satisfaction and if the food was a good temperature, to which, everything was. The salad bar was fresh and always replenished quickly. We loved all the meats. Everything is seasoned well and very tasty. For dessert, Greg and Von had the key lime pie. It was very sweet but good. It's party time (again) and this time we're in Orland Park (SW suburban Chicago). The restaurant is located on the upper level near a primary mall entrance. (It's in the former space Sears occupied if you're familiar with the mall.) Very similar to Fogo de Chao in concept, various meats served by "gauchos" (aka Brazilian cowboys.) There's a full bar and extensive wine list. They both have the card you turn over--red for don't offer meat and green for offers of meat. The choices included filet mignon, bar-b-que ribs, lamb, Parmesan chicken, Parmesan pork, bacon wrapped chicken or sirloin steak and sausage. Service was very attentive! Of course, there's a market table with salad items, charcuterie and smoked salmon. Texas de Brazil offers more dessert choices than Fogo. I tapped out in a "meat coma" and even birthday cake was out of consideration. I did notice more variety on the hot station in the Market Salad area at Texas de Brazil. The lobster bisque earned an A+ for taste and consistency! The potato au gratin was delicious. There were many hot choices to make their salad area a stand-alone meal. read more

You flip the disk over on your table to green and they bring you an array of meats to sample. It's about $70.00 person to eat all the meat you desire from filet mignon to ribs, chicken, lamb etc... and you also can eat from the salad bar which has salads, soups, cheeses, breads, shrimp and more. I visited this location for the first time, Christmas day. We had an early afternoon reservation, so it wasn't very crowded. We were seated and greeted by our server, Adam, immediately. He went over the menu and dining protocol and offered suggestions on alcoholic beverages. The meat selections are plentiful and delicious. I don't eat red meat or pork very often, so it was nice to sample so many types of meat simultaneously. I liked the filet mignon best out of everything. The side options are a bit lacking, IMO, but the black beans and jasmine rice were pretty good. I ordered a passion fruit margarita, which was decent. I can't recall the name of every cocktail my family ordered, but everyone liked their beverage of choice. My godfather ordered a bottle of red wine for the table as well. My sister said her favorite part of the meal was the key lime pie. Our server was awesome. He was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. We were very happy to tip him $80. The bill came to over $300 if I'm not mistaken, which wasn't too bad considering all the booze we ordered & the amount of meat they serve. (Dried meats, cheese, olives, salad, soup, salmon, rice--it goes on) This restaurant is Brazilian Gaucho style--meaning, meats are served in front of you at your table. There are several types of steaks, chicken, pork, lamb, ribs--etc. Everything is served with sides like Brazilian bread, baked bananas, mashed potatoes and fries. I really enjoyed the filet mignon and the garlic picahna. I'd recommend the horseradish sauce from the salad bar to pair with the steaks. The servers are very prompt and polite. Perk--it is at a mall so you don't have to pay for parking. They quality of the food is excellent, so please keep in mind it is pricey. The wait staff were very friendly. Bread, and French fries, are brought the table immediately. The salad bar had various cold offerings, greens, vegetables, cheeses, meats, and a few hot items, potatoes, rice, bisque. The main "dinner" meat selection was awesome and all were seasoned just right and very tasty. Mashed potatoes and baked banana are brought to the table at this time. The seating is well spaced out so the staff can easily get from table to table with their meat offerings. We never had to wait long for another server to come by with a selection. We had cocktails. I personally had a margarita that was out of this world delicious. We ordered dessert as well. They were tasty. The lighting was just right. I worried about the glass windows and being right out side a mall, but once seated, realized there was no concern with gawkers. However, we did arrive on a rainy night, and the floor was very slippery inside. Use caution. I'm sorry I didn't take pictures, but was too busy enjoying the meal. The meal (dinner which includes the salad bar and cooked skewers of meat, or light dinner which is just the salad bar) is set at one price and desserts and drinks were an extra charge. Disappointed with our experience last night. My fiancé and I had wanted a nice date night out, made the reservation, dressed up, etc. Our server for the night seemed very new and could use more training or a shadow server. My fiancé ordered an old fashion with Woodford and I a sangria. She asked if we wanted a pitcher - for the two of us. No, he ordered his own drink before me. She was also incredibly confused at the old fashioned with Woodford and it took her about 10 minutes before coming back to us at the salad bar before needing further clarification with my fiancé on his drink. It then took an additional 10 minutes before they were served to us. We've been to Texas de Brazil before and spent numerous holidays and special occasions with them at this location as our standard. The resturant was half empty and the poor start to service didn't match the capacity of the business at all. We've had far better service with much higher volume in the resturaunt. We enjoyed our salad bar items and were taking our time to enjoy and our server kept seeming like she was rushing us to the meat portion of our meal with at least 3 check-ins and explanation about the red/green marker cards before we started. We'd never experience that before either. When out with my parents or a bigger group we were able to talk, drink, and eat at our own pace and get started when we wanted. Given the resturaunt was barely half capacity there was really no need for this and it soured our experience too. With the meats, we have a handful that we particularly enjoy and look forward to. I'm more chicken and pork and my fiancé with the steaks and sausage. The filet medallions are usually an exception for me and had a bitter burnt taste on the outside and had like a propane after taste. Like the grill wasn't cleaned properly or it was left on too long. Parmesan pork is another we look forward to and my couple pieces were juicy, tender, and perfect. My partner handed off his and they were dry and the crust nearly gone although they were from the same spit. My partner had a variety of steak and noted the flank was the best he had all night. It's not the most expensive cut and not one often recommended by servers but was again disappointing that for a higher quality resturaunt a lower grade cut was shining the best so far. We also had the bacon wrapped chicken, and sadly that was the best thing to me besides my portion of pork. Bacon was nicely crisped and chicken was still juicy, not dry. The complimentary warm sides of plantains and mashed potatoes were delivered almost within 10 minutes of us completing our meal and while the plantains were wonderful, my fiancé noted the potatoes were a bit cold. By time desert came, we had a Bailey coffee between us, and our respective sweets before cashing out and heading home. We hesitate coming back now, and wonder if next time our $250-$300 check would've been better spent at Fogo de Chão regardless of their table time limit noted when reserving. Seemed like because it wasn't a holiday or special occasion to celebrate that service was acceptable to fall flat. read more

Our server was really nice, friendly and informative of the restaurant's choices and menu items. After informing our server of my gluten intolerance, the manager came over to my table and offered to show me all of the gluten free items on the salad bar. All businesses need management like that. Majority of the salad bar is gluten free, all the carved meat is gluten free and they even have gluten free cheese bread!!! The salad bar was amazing. I enjoyed spring mix, tomatoes, bacon and shrimp salad. Let me tell you that the shrimp salad was the best damn salad I've ever tasted!!! I have got to figure out the seasonings! I honestly could have eaten the shrimp salad all night and been happy! They also have a small hot bar with lobster bisque and steamed rice!!!! As far as meats go, I enjoyed lamb chops, bacon wrapped chicken, filet mignon, top and bottom sirloin. All juicy, tender and seasoned to perfection. The ambiance was inviting. We loved the salad bar. The lobster bisque was delicious. The servers brought different meats to the table. We liked the way the server cut just the right amount.
