Ordered a ribeye steak on a Saturday night, and a pound of sliced brisket. Both were amazing!!!! Cooked to perfection.

Eaten here twice. Slightly below average BBQ. But probably one of the best places to eat in the Pawhuska area.

Dried out meat that tasted of lighter fluid. Bagged, limp, iceberg salad mix swimming in dressing. Waitstaff nonexistent. Never again.

We chose Triggers BBQ, reviews were generally positive and it was a short stroll from The Frontier Hotel. The young lady working the counter was very friendly and our order was placed quickly. The fountain machine was not working which isn't a big deal. We each decided to try RC Cola. The only rub I have at this part of our experience is don't blame someone for the fountain machine not working. It's just a poor reflection. Just state it's not working. I ordered the brisket, coleslaw, and cheesy potatoes. My lovely wife ordered "the last of today's pork", brisket and cheesy potatoes. The food came out quickly. It was immediately noticeable that the brisket had sat in a warmer for way to long and was past its prime. A slathering of BBQ sauce on the brisket was not much improvement and was really uninspiring its self. A prior review noted the brisket tasted more like liquid smoke and I would agree. "The last of today's pork", was not as painful as the brisket yet not by much. Moving on to the cole slaw which I believe was a red wine vinaigrette. It was not to my liking however it might be to yours. I'll call this a push. Finally the cheesy potatoes. This side was good, moist and tasted as expected. It's unfortunate that this was the best item as I would fully expect the BBQ to be the star. The place is rustic, clean and small. With the draw in Pawhuska being The Pioneer Woman fame and you are a short block walk away. What you serve should be on point. This BBQ experience wasn't.

I did some heavy duty shopping at the Merc.!!!! and also left behind probably a dozen more things I would've loved to have picked up and brought home. Yes, I would say it's a little more expensive than your average kitchen supply store but if you're going to somewhere upscale, I would say the prices are in line with that type of property. Lucky me -I made reservations for lunch for myself (since the boys decided they did not want anything to do with my shopping extravaganza!) I can't get over the quality and the quantity of the food. It's absolutely fabulous. They gave me complementary biscuits and homemade strawberry rhubarb jam. I would rate it five star -the biscuits just which you would like- light and fluffy and the jam freshly made and delicious. I also ordered what was called olive bread just because I love olives so much. I thought it would be a piece or two of bread with olives but instead it's like four or five pieces of bread, so I'll definitely be taking some home and it will become my dinner along with whatever else I have left because their portions are very generous. For my main course, I ordered the cornbread fish over rice and creamed spinach. It's not only beautiful and don't you know we eat with our eyes first!! Well, just take a look for yourself. Oh, me oh my happy day.!!!! Justin is my server. Everyone in both the restaurant and retail area have been absolutely wonderful and have helped me a couple times as I had questions and then I brought a baking pan down to pay for it with all my other Mercantile items not knowing that if the merch is up in the bakery, you gotta pay for it in the bakery....I did get a lot of stuff up there- some cookies, brownie and scones and some "vintage" candy for my husband. I don't know why I didn't put that small Bundt pan on the counter!! They actually have a beautiful staircase, but they also have an elevator so with my bum leg that was my choice. I took the mini Bundt pan back up, paid for it and then proceeded to take my three XL or maybe even 2XL Mercantile Brown Handled Bags out to my trunk. (I hope that my husband doesn't put me on top of the car for the ride home!!!) ----at the very least, I'm probably going to be squished in the backseat with those bags and my 72# dog; however, this was TOTALLY worth it. I can't stop smiling. I love it here. All that shopping made me hungry and timing was perfect so once my bags were safely in the trunk -I walked right up to the hostess stand -she confirmed my table was ready and I was seated on a very comfy cushioned area that was behind my 2-top but I believe it extended to either side of me where the tables were both 4-tops. Justin was my server and he was fantastic. He took excellent care of me and I observed him giving the same high quality customer service to customers at his other tables. He had that charming OK accent and indeed told me he had lived at the next little town all his life. We had actually passed through Bartlesville on the way to "The Bunkhouse" (our ABNB for the 2-nights which was very near Pawhuska. (I'll be posting other reviews regarding the "Merc" mercantile and general store and the merchandise available and what I purchased.) This is one of my best days ever. The only thing that could've added to my joy was if Ree Drummond herself made an appearance. I was shocked when I went out to leave for home and found the Drummond Ranch truck parked next to my car. I never found out if it was just parked there as an advertisement, (although I don't think they need any advertising), or if there was a Drummond on the premises. I didn't mention I took 2 Turkey Bacon Club Sandwiches along with the home made potato chips (they came with each sandwich) and a side of MacNCheese which is what the boys chose from the menu. Happy to report that everything was made to order as requested and my family enjoyed their meal just as much as I did-however they missed the incredible ambience!!!

Amazing Stop - don't pass it up…read more SmOakies ~ WoW, some Great BBQ! My wife and I got the Fat Boy to split after driving all day coming in from the Ozarks on our summer trip out west. The chopped brisket was delicious with good texture and not too fatty, Pulled Pork, had texture but still tender and juicy with a nice skin on it! The Chicken tender brined and smokes, very tender and juicy. The Ribs had a delicious dry rub and were just at fall off the bone, not over tender at all. The ham was good but the least standout, as well as the sausage were all cooked to perfection, crispy skin and so tenderly cooked. The Slaw was a vinegar slaw that was a little heavy on the onion and celery seed, while the Baked Beans were sweet and tangy, some ketchup and mustard and I'm guessing but I taster Tamarind, delicious . The Potato Salad was absolutely lovely! ~ tasted like a mayo and mustard dressing with egg yokes? , dill pickle chunks and dill... reminded me of a deviled egg potato salad ~ WoW again. I eat BBQ all over the country pretty regularly and they was one of my Top Stops in a long while! ~ Great Job SmOkies!
