The haunted pub crawl was dull. They took us to 4 bars, 2 of whIch were dive bars, serving watered down drinks, that didn't seem to have a haunted history...but were Alamo adjacent so I guess that's the haunted part. The stories were lame. I would have liked to have heard more about the menger hotel or something. San Antonio has many cool haunted spots. I was disappointed. read more

The reviews I was able to find for the Haunted Pub Crawl were mostly negative. Allow me to set the record straight: This is a nightly bar hopping tour. A person can only do the same routine so many times before it begins to sound rehearsed. Don't mistake rehearsed for bored. Mr. Wolf was very fun and funny, and even though the tour dialogue was most definitely routine for him, he seemed to actually find the stories and history interesting. He is very knowledgeable, and is even happy to answer questions while you're taking a swig. If you go on the pub crawl, bring cash like he suggests. It really does make everything so much faster. Also, be prepared to drink quickly. Its a two hour tour across four bars, so there is only enough time for one drink once you get your order in. Which brings me to my next point... If you go on the Pub Crawl, expect at least one person in the group and/or each bar to be stupid drunk. If you can't let that roll off your shoulder and just enjoy the tour, it is not for you. All in all it is a great tour! We will definitely do it again with friends. The walking isn't so bad, because you essentially make a big circle around the Alamo. For reals y'all, I have never been so happy I went to something that I didn't feel like going to. It was 7:30pm, dark, cold, and bonus - sprinkling, when I was reminded that we signed up for a tour that was meeting at the Alamo at 8 o'clock. So after much whining, I put on my Uggs and a hoodie and another hoodie and we set out hoping we wouldn't be the only people to show. Much to my surprise, not only were there already about 8 people waiting for our tour, but there were multiple ghost tours about to start...fast forward to later and I am convinced ours was the best choice by far. One of my favorite subjects is true crime and this tour was all about it! Informative, interesting and full of actual (gruesome *giggle*) history, the time flew by and I didn't even notice how f'ing cold it was. Our female guide did a great job - so worth a night in the rain, which actually added to the ambiance :) read more

I would say the company name really lives up to "bad wolf ghost tours". We came all the way from Los Angeles for a bachelor weekend in Austin. We were told one of the things we must try is a haunted brewery tour. We really got "ghosted". We had a reservation on a Friday night for our first night in Austin and they didn't even show up. What a "bad" impression on people who are interested in haunted brewery tours. I would not recommend coming here unless you wanted to get "ghosted" and waste your time. read more

We did the haunted pub crawl.. Honestly when I read the reviews I thought they were lying... this tour is worth every penny. I've never enjoyed myself like I did last night! Tip 1# carry cash. The quicker you can get your drink the better. Tip 2# dress comfortable but not to comfortable. (Don't do heels) Tip 3# talk to the other guest! A bigger group and a better vibe made everything so much fun! Tip 4# Be prepared to either have you or the person in the group next to you s*** faced. You do have to drink your drink pretty quick so a lot of people get drunk fast! Tip 5# be open minded! I don't care what you believe in and I don't care what you're raised to think! We took the Pub Crawl. First, let me say, this is not a good tour for the physically challenged. I use a walker and the tour moved at a pace that was very difficult for me to keep up with. Second, is the locations. The third location we visited was the Menger Bar. After half of the group was seated, my husband and I placed an order at the bar. AFTER we paid for our drinks, the waitress yelled about the bar being at capacity. She then turned on my husband and I and yelled at us to take our drinks and get out. Now. We left the bar very insulted and very embarassed. The tour guide said to us, on our way out, "Sorry for the inconvenience." She stayed behind in the bar to enjoy her drink. read more

We were visiting from out of state and our Friday night plans revolved around this tour that was recommended as one of the things to do while in Austin. We waited any no one showed up. The stories were mediocre. Two of the bars were loud, crowded, and pumping loud music. It was a walking tour and you don't really leave Alamo Plaza. For $20/person it's a little pricey for a walking tour that takes you to a couple of bars. read more

This was a fun way to spend the evening in San Antonio! My boys and I do a ghost tour in every city we visit because it's an entertaining way to learn some spooky history and see places that are off the beaten path. The guide was knowledgable and took care to engage everyone on the tour. He also handed out emf detectors at the beginning of the tour which never picked up any activity but was a cool touch for the kids. Some of the stories were gruesome but nothing too extreme. My fiancé and I had such an AMAZING time!!!! This was so much fun and we learned a lot about local history. Plus we got to go to some fun bars! Everyone in our group was hilarious.... Especially as the night went on. We woke up with headaches (watch out for the Hurricanes at Pat-o-Brian's) so I know we had lots of fun. I would totally recommend this to EVERYONE, even locals. Not much walking and you actually get to see bars above the riverwalk. Bad Wolf was a great tour guide and did very well, even with annoying drinking induced heckling (Sorry about that BW) You meet in front of the Alamo at 9:45 and once the whole party is there you go. The only disclaimer I can give you is that you get DISCOUNTS at three of the bars. I don't know how I got it in my head that it was a free drink at 3 out of the 4 bars, but looking back at the website it clearly states discounted drinks. It was about 3-7 dollars for each drink on the tour, even the bar that didn't give a discount (the Menger Hotel) it was about $7 so not too bad. I would totally do it again, we had a blast! read more
