I moved into Hersheys Mill in Westchester in 2024. In January. I bought a new Mercedes 450 E which I love. Two weeks after I took delivery of my car I was pulling into my garage at Hersheys Mill and hit the front right corner. I felt sick to my stomach literally. I went to Badells in Malvern the next morning (after not sleeping all night) and Dale took a look at it along with several of his coworkers. Less than an hour later, my car looked brand new again! I was "thrilled over the moon" because again the car was only two weeks old. I asked what I owed for their services and their response was nothing. I've had a 50+ year career in sales and marketing. I learned 50 years ago "people don't care much you know until they know how much you care" and Dale and his staff really took care of me. Thet went above and beyond! Fast-forward to this past week and I did a similar thing again and going into my garage very slowly with all the cameras and sensors, but still scraped the front right bumper and again Dale and the staff took care of me and my Mercedes 450 E looks brand new again! Should I get into a real accident, (God forbid) I know where I will go and that is to Badells! They treat you like family there and you can't put a price on that! AVOID BADELL'S AT ALL COSTS! I wish I could give zero stars. I've never experienced this level of disrespect and lack of accountability. They not only botched the repair of our car, they denied any wrong-doing when called out, manipulated our insurance into believing their ridiculous excuses, shouted at us over the phone, and left a dented impact bar in place, completely disregarding our safety. Their negligence resulted in a 4 month battle with our insurance to get the car properly repaired. This is the worst customer experience I've had in my life. Badell's was recommended to us by Geico after we were rear-ended in our Toyota RAV4. At first, it seemed like the repair went smoothly. However, several months later, all of the paneling on the liftgate fell out. With the paneling off, I could see a HUGE gash in the metal framework. I took photos and sent it to Badell's, but when the manager Dale called me, he was adamant that they were not responsible. He contacted Geico and convinced them that Badell's was not to blame and we were told we would need to file a new claim. Not satisfied by this outcome, we sent the photos of the damage to some friends in the auto body business and received a plausible explanation for how the damage occurred: someone got frustrated feeding the wiring harness through the lift gate and tore a hole in the metal to force it through. Dale told us we had received a brand new liftgate, so they either installed a used and damaged gate, or they caused the damage themselves. When my wife called Dale to calmly explain the situation and see if they would be willing to fix things, he became irate, raised his voice at her, interrupted her multiple times, repeatedly saying "nice try, good story", and HUNG UP THE PHONE! She's never had anyone speak to her in such a way and was left shaking after the conversation. This is completely unacceptable behavior. It's worth mentioning that at the time the repair was completed, Dale was out on personal leave and not physically present at Badell's! We contacted Geico, explained the situation with Dale, and they finally agreed the damage happened at Badell's and would be covered by our original claim. They told us they had contacted the owner of Badell's and that he was aware of the situation, yet he has never reached out to offer any form of apology. After a 4-month battle with insurance, we were finally able to get our car fixed at a different body shop. The new shop confirmed that the damage to the lift gate was caused by forcing the wiring harness through the liftgate in the wrong direction. Furthermore, the new shop discovered that one of the impact bars was dented. Badell's claimed that they had replaced an impact bar, so again, they either lied about replacing the part, installed one that was already damaged, or ignored a damaged part that needed to be replaced. The impact bar is a crucial part of a car's safety system, but they had no problem allowing us to drive around in an unsafe vehicle. Badell's not only failed to fix our vehicle properly, they lied about the work they did and denied any responsibility when caught. They showed a complete lack of respect for their customers, complete disregard for our safety, and zero remorse for completely unacceptable service. I am surprised and disappointed that Geico stands by the work done by Badell's and continues to have Badell's on their direct repair program. I highly, HIGHLY recommend you find a different repair shop. If you somehow still decide to go to Badell's, be on the lookout for issues with the repairs. read more

My insurance company recommended I go here after my car was involved in a hit-and-run. I spoke with Dale to come in for an inspection, and he told me what he would be doing and approximately how much it would cost. When I brought my car in a few weeks later, we discussed how long it would take and when he would contact me. He wanted to make sure my car looked brand new. I normally visit Class Coachworks in Wayne as they restore classic high-end cars, and complete repairs that cost as much as the total value of my car (tongue in cheek!). I had a lack luster experience there last time, so decided to try out a new shop that is an "ARE" shop with Geico. I was able to get in for an appointment at Badell's the week after I reported my claim. The nature of my repair is sanding down, and repainting the hood of my black Audi. I felt comfortable with dipping my feet with Badell's for a straightforward repair. Dale and Allison run the shop as a team. I got the impression that they strive to provide a "family" type environment. They were VERY enthusiastic and were helpful to work with. They finished my $560 repair in mid-December within 1.5 days. I talked to them about getting a detail done, which they don't offer or partner with others to offer, but they did a stellar job doing a deeper clean of the outside of my car and inside of my car. They do this for all repairs to wow their clients. Enterprise works with them too via Geico, so my Enterprise rep and rental was waiting for me at drop-off, and I was able to leave the rental there after I picked up my car. Allison stayed in touch with me via email to confirm ETA, and also both Allison and Dale were responsive and friendly via phone. The shop did a great job with the repair - I cannot see any traces of the previous damage or any traces of work done. It seems Dale, Allison and the team take a lot of pride in the work they do and are anxious to really drum up and build the 5 year-old body shop business. I cannot speak to any complex bodywork repairs; however, I would definitely go back for the type of work I had done. Dale also seemed to push back on insurance in order to be able to complete a holistic repair of my hood, rather than just touching up the area that got damaged. This is so critical in having a quality experience as I absolutely hate shops that nickle/dime/and won't effectively push back on insurance where ultimately the customer gets low quality work, and the body shop a bad rep for low-quality work only because insurance won't pay. When I picked up my car, Dale was really happy that I came before the rain and sunset as he was very proud of the work they'd done and excited to see my reaction. Stay away! I took my car here after I was t-boned last year. At first glance, they did a good job. However, when I took my car in for inspection a few months later, the left side rear trailing bolt was completely missing. Additionally, I started noticing some overall messy repair work with the welds and the paint. I took it back to Badell's for additional repairs, as they were a Liberty Mutual preferred shop and the original repairs guaranteed as long as I own the car. They fixed the things I pointed out, and reimbursed me for the bolt. Now here we are a few months later, and I'm continuing to have issues. The wheel bearing has to be replaced because they didn't do it in the initial repair, and it was causing suspension and alignment issues. The paint job they did is already cracking and flaking. My lift gate is rubbing against the frame, the paint is worn away to the metal. And my favorite part is that they charged my insurance company for an OEM door (Subaru doesn't do door skins), and come to find out, they put a junkyard door that's already been repaired once on my car. Additionally, they didn't install the rear quarter panel correctly, so I'm forever going to have a non-symmetrical gap on my lift gate (the new shop advised against cutting the car up again, due to metal fatigue). The cost to repair the shoddy repair work Badell's did is going to be at least as much as the original repair, if not more. I'm lucky it's all covered through insurance, but now I'm without my car for 3-4 weeks because of the labor-intensive repairs the new shop has to make. Stay far, far away from Badell's!! read more

I really don't want to do this, but I feel it's important to let people know how things really work. Last year, I tried to set up my car to be repaired at Badell's Collision through Geico Xpress listing/setup. Here's what happened next. They took me off the list and wanted me to call Manager Dale. I called him and he did not want to repair my car at all. He didn't want to get involved at all! He wanted to "total loss" my car, which I now understand means they wanted to take possession of my car and flip for profit while giving me a small settlement (implying to use to buy another car). I didn't want another car! I wanted my car repaired so I could drive back home. I guess Dale didn't understand that my 2011 Kia Optima is 100% in my name (fully paid-up, which was around $22,000). Geico and Badell's Collision wanted to give me a $6,000 settlement. No way! I invested into my car way higher than a $6,000 settlement. I wanted to keep my car! Dale said I can't get my car repaired anywhere because it would be "branded." Incorrect! Dale said it would not be a "good idea." Incorrect! Dale said it would have to pass some sort of state inspection. Incorrect! Here's how things REALLY work. I had my car towed to Armen Collision (Geico-approved and AAA-approved). I learned that if you need vehicle body repair, go online and make sure you take your vehicle to a body shop that lists as Geico-approved AND AAA-approved. AAA-approved is the key to a good body shop. Badell's Collision is Geico-approved but NOT AAA-approved. Do not take your vehicle here. If your vehicle requires significant body repairs, take it to Armen Collision. At least there, you will get your vehicle repaired. They even made sure my battery worked (apparently, the battery needed a jump because my rear passenger door was half-ripped off which must've drained the battery). They even did repairs on the other side of my vehicle that were pre-existing. They even fully fueled my car and washed it before I came to pick it up after I dropped off the rental car I was using, and then drove all the way back home to Nevada (2,500 miles). Armen Collision repaired successfully. The bottom line is my car was repairable. It didn't need to be salvaged; it didn't need to be total-lossed. If your vehicle is repairable, it is, by definition, NOT a "Total Loss." How is a car totaled if you can repair it? Body shops like Badell's Collision would rather try to find shortcuts to rip off customers. To be honest, Armen Collision ripped me off but at least they successfully repaired my vehicle. Badell's Collision couldn't and Chester County Auto Body also was incapable of doing significant body repairs. I'm an honest person, so I'm going to inform straight-up. I paid Armen Collision $12,000. Badell's Collision whiffed on opportunity to make a profit. And FYI: I found a way to get Geico to reimburse me around $6,500. Geico initially didn't want to repair my car, but I found a way through Geico's facebook page to get that stubborn insurance adjuster to re-imburse me the original estimate amount. I'll accept how everything resolved and move on. I guess I could ask to be re-imbursed more but I don't care about money and it's too much of a hassle and I decide to leave Geico alone after that re-imbursement (which was sent via e-mail). I clicked on a link in the e-mail and electronically the $6,500 was quickly deposited into my bank account. Badell's Collision probably assumed I was too poor to repair my car in this sort of way. No. You could just ask me, and I'll tell you how much money I have in my checking account. They thought I couldn't afford. Well, I was trapped on the east coast waiting for my car to be repaired. I was there for 4 months. I still able to afford 4 months of hotel stay and 4 months of rental car payments, no problem. You're actually not hurting me, you're hurting how much I donate to charities. I had to donate less last year to try to rebuild money I lost. I'll be back to 6 figures soon enough. You'd be surprised how much 100% VA Disability Rating pays monthly. Well, now you get the idea. So it is July of 2022. Ever since my car was repaired last year, I've had no problems, whatsoever. I didn't need to take my car to some state inspection because it was repaired. My car was NOT branded. If a customer wants their car repaired and it is repairable, a good body shop will have the capability to repair it. They were acting like my car was hit by a meteorite within the vortex of a tornado in the middle of a typhoon. No, I accidentally rammed the left rear of my car off a guardrail on an exit ramp. Somehow, the collision ripped part of the left rear passenger door off and flattened the tire and impacted that left-rear rear suspension area. That's all the repairs that were needed! That was it! Basically, I needed the left-rear passenger door replaced, a left front door handle, a new tire, and the left-rear corner area to be corrected (align the wheel so it's vertical and read more
