I had called to have assistance with my home Furnace. I had a representative on the line and I expressed my furnaces has a propane leak&a water line that was leaking onto the furnace that as near electric plugs. Explained turning off the water and propane and my fears of potential fire due to the propane leak& water. The representative ignored the urgency even after exclaiming this was an emergency. I stated if this isn't an emergency line or company that can help tell me so I can get help : the representative continued to ignore me and ask how I heard about the Buisness and what apps I had to share their business -! DISGUSTING service and in an emergency I can't believe I had to deal with that. They installed a whole new AC/Heating system about 2 1/2 yrs ago. it stopped running. They sent Dakota to troubleshoot the problem. He eliminated several potential causes and identified a failed blower motor. Got on the phone immediately and ordered a new unit. Would be available next day but he was booked for another job. But they had a cancellation and he was able to return the day after the holiday and got it installed in no time. He and his office stayed in contact with me by phone and text each step of the way. My dad and I were house sitting for a friend in Rough and Ready. We live 2 hrs away in Vacaville, so we're not familiar with companies in this area. While house sitting my friend's cat decided to swat my dad's medicine bottle down a floor vent. This is medicine my dad needs because he has Parkinson's. We haven't had working AC for some time so I had a technician from another company inspect and test the system last summer. He ran some tests and told me that the AC condenser was working as it should. I told him that it does not cool the house down so please send someone out to talk about replacement. They never followed up. Enter Baehr Heating and Air. Zach and Jay (the owner) arrived at the house responding to a Yelp inquiry to replace my AC condenser. They were the third contractor to come out and look at the system, but the only one who arrived with a technician and not just a salesman. They immediately started evaluating the existing system and determined my system had almost no refrigerant in the lines and that my fan speed could be turned up. I'm typing this in my house's cool air, having saved $14-24K that the other two contractors had quoted me. To be fair to the other contractors, I did ask for a quote to replace the AC and what is what they gave me. Baehr is truly a gem of a company providing an honest assessment, immediate and expert service, and saving me thousands of dollars. I will not be calling anyone else for future HVAC needs. We are a retired and semi retired couple on a fixed income here in Grass Valley Ca. in the Alta Sierra Ranchos. We have a hydronic boiler heating system with baseboards thru out our 4700 sq ft home. We bought our home here to retire in 2015. Our home is big and it has always been cold. We never knew why and we have been here for 10 years.Always freezing cold and huge propane bills. Never did we think because the furnace continued to work that it would need to be serviced because this was a very different kind of heating system than most and complicated we thought. We had never encountered an issue so basically fear kept us away. Thinking it would be outrageously expensive to bring someone over to service it if needed.. The system started spitting out black soot on the floor and then it would not stop running over the last 2 weeks. A half of a tank of propane that had been filled a week ago was already gone. We definitely knew something wasn't right so I called Paul at Baehr. We were going through propane like crazy and never realized why. We thought it was because this is the way it was supposed to be and to each other we said, we don't like this system. I knew Paul from a BNI networking group in Grass Valley. Very nice guy. I told him the issue. He immediately set me up an appointment with the owner of the company that knew how to work on these systems for 38 yrs. Wow. Jay , the owner took one look inside the boiler and knew immediately what are issues were. It desperately needed to be serviced. He said it was the worst he had ever seen and he was shocked that the boiler was still running. And he could even smell fumes . Omg I thought.... He had a very nice hard working man in training and stayed right with Jay while Jay was telling him everything he needed to do. And this young man got trained right on the job with the owner step by step to remedy our issue. It was awesome to watch and experience.
